man I am making a dorky face!!
I tend to think too much actually. So, I was sitting in my car watching some squirrels in the park, a lady walking her dog and kinda thinking “animals aren’t fat”, “animals are only fat when fed by people”. SO, what does this tell us? People are not too bright. All you really have to do to know what to eat is look at animals. They don’t normally eat what they don’t require. Okay, domesticated animals often do though, like the damn trash and eggshells and a pair of pantyhose…….oh, and the dog I had who ate the length of christmas garland that was hanging out of his butt while he ran back and forth……….heheeeee…..gross but true.
Wild animals eat what they need. Canines and other carnivores eat lots of proteins, herbivores eat all veggies, both are lean unless they live in a climate that requires fat storage for warmth or hibernation (or a huge fat walrus). So, that leads me to believe people are “fatter” up North, particularly in the winter. Although we wear clothes, it isnt so necessary to bulk up, it may be mental. Besides that, no one sees your fat stores in a bulky sweater.
So, in a nutshell….think like an animal. If they aren’t eating alfredo noodles, chances are..you shouldn’t either. Did you ever see a deer ordering a large pizza? Ya ya, you can eat it on your cheat day. Thats why its called a cheat day.
Im just wondering how carnivores get their carbs. You need a certain amount to have brain function and energy and although they are animals, do they require less? I know they will eat grass sometimes. Is there carbs in grass? See, I am kind of a kook who thinks far too much. I’m a googler……..have question, will google.
I didnt train tonight. My legs and butt are killing me from yesterday and I was slacking on my fluid intake and surmised I had a dehydration headache at work. Even my body hurt……it was weird. I dehydrate easily. All I have to do is pinch the back of my hand and if it is slow to react, I am not taking in enough water. Tomorrow I will be banging out some chest and tris for sure. …plus more posing from the geek squad.

Hey you guys!!! I took another posing video. You have to do this if you have no one helping you, telling you where to place your arms, pull your back out more, etc. I practice for about 1/2 hour at least once a week and secretly in my clothes while I am at the stamp machine at work. Im a self professed nerd.
I did legs today and took some videos there as well, squats with plates, dumbbell romanian deadlifts, glutes on cables without a bench, curls. I will post whatever you need. I have to send more videos to bb.com as well. Its hard trying to work out and film by yourself though. Constantly setting up the camera kills my workout mood. But, I have to work and I still do workout. Anyway, I was approached by the new gym manager with some possible ‘work’. I do not know what they are looking for but he did ask me about before and after pics, so I sent him here. We chatted a little about their advertising. I will let you know if anything comes of it. I dont like to get my hopoes up, ya know?
Heres the video. I am back down to 121 lbs!!! I will probably compete at 116…..

I was nervous going there and of course I got lost. I have to get me a GPS system or something. This was my 5th photoshoot in 6 months, but I didn’t have any editorial type of shots to submit to magazines. This photographer from 3RGraphix is going to dress up the pics a little though. Lots of them came out pretty good unedited, but I want that magazine look. I posted some in my gallery today. I tried to delete old ones, but some are stuck in my queue, so my space is limited and evn though I deleted, I cant add more. I will try again later. I think I need a nap first. The pics were actually taken in an apartment, but he had lots of cool camera equipment and lighting…..I was impressed.
I’ll be back on later. Last night I had that big employee appreciation dinner..and 3 rolls of bread with real butter…shame on me. Oh and a Malibu and cranberry….double shame……..whip me, beat me, make me write bad checks and do lunges……….

ps, excuse my spotty legs. I was COLD

I have my shoot with the graphic artist today, so yesterday I have to go get all girly and have my nails and eyebrows done. So, she is waxing my brows and tells me I have a hairy lip! I say, “it’s blonde” and she goes, “no, it’s hairy” and before I know it she is ripping off my upper lip hair! Holy crap. That hurts!! Now everyone is saying it will grow in thick and dark. I think thats BS because I am have fine blonde hairs, never had thick body hair. Old wives tale, not science………I did not wake up with a firemans mustache today. Then I walk out and the other women are looking at me, point to my face and say, “she told me I had a mustache!!!”, they just smiled. Damn, Julie (my Chinese nail salon lady) can talk you into anything. I have a french manicure with a silver line (it makes your nails pretty, you will like it, we will do it) eyebrows (you will get money if you have nice eyebrows in her country) and now the upper lip. Im such a sucker. But hey, $45 bucks and I feel PURDY. I then had to tan myself. You know you are getting more muscle when it even becomes difficult to do your back with a sponge on a stick. The more I tried, it was like a relief map of the Appalacians back there. I hope I am not spotty or streaky.
I went to an employee appreciation dinner last night and they had a mentalist for entertainment. You know, a spoon bender. Anyway, the spoons did bend and his fingers were not touching the spots that were bending. It was freaky. he did some other stuff that I couldnt wrap my brain around as well.
I wanted to get to the gym, but it was closed when I got out of there. I will try to go after my shoot. Keep you posted!!!

There are no commments anywhere and you cant reply to anyone. I thought it was just me, but I dont think it is.
I had a decent workout last night, back and bi’s. Im pretty happy with my progress, but I hate that scale!!! Someone suggested it is possibly because it is on a rug, but it is a physicians full size scale and I don’t know that that reason applies. Im saying there is no way my pants are looser and yet I gained all that weight. Maybe its a blessing in disguse. Last time I competed, the scale ( a little one ) was stolen and my bodyfat calipers broke. I will write later. My 7 year old is sick and keeps getting up to vomit………ewwww

I hear alot here and on the forums about people not believing in the mercury in canned tuna and other fish. This is no joke. Rememeber the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland? Want to know why he was ‘mad’? Not angry mad, but nutso? Mercury poisoning, thats why! He wore that big hat and in making felt, they used a process called, "smelting" , it was a mercury process. The constant exposure to mercury affected the brain, making them "mad". Now this does not keep me from eating tuna. I do try to limit to 3 cans a week, but it also depends on the type of tuna (or fish) you eat. Most at risk are young children and women trying to get pregnant, are pregnant or breastfeeding.. Its a cumulative affect (it builds up over a period of time). I have a list of seafood and mercury risk listed below
highest levels
king mackerel,shark,swordfish,Gulf of Mexico Tilefish
moderate levels
american lobster, atlantic tilefish, bass, bluefish, carp, fresh and canned albacore tuna, grouper ,halibut monkfish, marlin, orange roughy, skate, snapper, spanish mackeral, and sea trout.
lowest levels
anchovies, catfish, canned light tuna, clams,. cod, crabs, crawfish, flounder, freshwater trout, haddock, herring, pollock, salmon, sardine, shrimp, sole, tilapia, and spiney lobster.
seafood is good for you. A great source of protein and healthy omega-3 fatty acids. Just don’t think it cannot have some effect on you if you dont listen to guidelines. Not much you are missing if you cant have tuna 20 times a week! It gets gross after awhile anyway. I will eat my chicken and smile………..
Off tot he gym. Probably not another hour of cardio, but some weights too. Later

I wanted to cry, not because of the cardio, but because when I weighed myself it said 126. Something is wrong…I weighed myself on Saturday and I was 118.5. There is no way I could have gained 6 lbs, even though I did weigh myself last in the morning. Even my pants are looser. WTF is goin on? ANYWHOO………I took a book with me, a real book, a novel and did 20 on the stepmill, before I knew it , the machine started to slow and I was like, “what the Hell?”………hehe, 20 mins was up………..so I did another 20….same thing. I went to the treadmill………another 20! I dont think I ever did a full hour in one night before. I wasnt even tired really, but had to go or I would have done more. Reading the book did it I think., I was not bored and time flew by. I read 221 pages actually. I did see some of my weight training buddies walk by looking at me like, “fern doing cardio?” all perplexed. I really have to bust butt at this point. Either the scale is right now or it was right last saturday…..I have no idea. Once again…..Im a lost puppy.
I found some pics of the Arnold competitors. I prefer the backstage ones because it gives you an idea of how lean is lean enough. You see their tans running, drops of oil here and there, a wee bit of droopy butt from the deplete and even how vascular some are. These ladies are pros, yet they are human and the stage makes you look very different, so try not to sweat it. yeah, I am sweating it a little myself, I admit it. You never know who is going to show up at a competition and kick your butt. You can lose to a chick with cellulite who poses better, you can have too much muscle on your back, be too lean, have no calves, not enough muscle….so worrying doesnt help. You bring what you can and bring it with a smile and hooker heels!
I will be writing an article for bb.com. It has been hashed out and will be about food and supplements. You know me. It will be honest and BS free. Hope you like the pics I post up above. the ladies all look great, yet they are human, like me and you……
And guys, support your figure girls! We are cranky, but loveable

Competing in 3 and 1/2 weeks, tired, working alot, kid has a job and I have to pick her up and drop her off now…….never ends. So I get this email offer on becoming an editor for a huge fitness site….yep, paying job. Not sure if I have the time, but I want to try! Also, BB.com asked me to write an/some articles. Got so mch on my plate right now its freaking me out. All good things, just time management is an issue. I wish I could quit my day job, but thats not happening because I have bills up the yazoo.
Oh, here is an idiot move on my part. I was standing on the toilet at work to find my toothbrush in the cabinet and when I stepped down, caught my ass right on the door knob! I saw stars..yeppers. Sometimes I wonder how I can be so clumsy and still be alive. I don’t fall down or anything, usually UP, like a flight of stairs. Almost as bad as accidently sticking a straw up your nose cus you were trying to drive and take a sip of something…..no, not soda of course.
I did work out last night, didnt have time to blog though cus of all the other stuff happening.
I will chat later
