 My Marine is coming home for the holidays.  When I asked hime what he wanted for Christmas, he said to come home and see me and his brothers and sister. Even though I’m his Mom, we are more like brother and sister because having him at 19 allowed me to grow up with him. I can’t wait!! 

I didnt work out last night, thurs are my night off. Tonight I am doing all shoulders I think.  I know I am lacking consistency lately, but it is only because I am going heavy and that takes less gym time.  Its allowing me to do some things 2x a week last minute.  Like doing abs and throwing in some lats or calves as well because I dont do as many different exercises as I have been doing.

Its been a month since my show and I am back up to about 122lbs from perhaps 115. Weird thing is, I don’t think I look much different as far as bodyfat really. Only thing is my butt came back.

I ordered some new stuff from bb.com like dessicated liver tabs, lifting hooks and a bodybuilding posing dvd.  The liver tabs are old school supplements that I read up on a little.  I never know what to order.  I get all my main supps from Gaspari, so everything else is just experimental add ons. I ordered the lifting hooks to help with grip failure in my left  hand and you know I am entertaining the idea of bodybuilding………hence the DVD.  I will be back later.  I have to go to the post office and stand in line for an hour to mail a special package……pray for me…..heheeeeee

We promote healthy weight loss and its not so much about what you see on the scale.  I actually weigh more now than I did when I started, but rather than being 18% bodyfat, I am now about 10%! So remember, the scale may not be your friend when you are weightlifting. Also, those scales that measure bodyfat are crap.  they do not work. Calipers are closer to the truth and the way you look is as well.
I encourage you to post before and after photos for you to gauge your changes. I know it can be embarrassing to you, but for side by side comparisons, it cannot be beat……..look at me…..damn, thats just mommy body gone bad…………..

My sons birthday

My son is 20 today.  He is 3,000 miles away at Camp Pendleton and is a US Marine.  I was hoping I would get to see him for his birthday and Christmas, but it doesn’t look like its going to happen.  Its been a year now that I have seen him.  My biggest fear is that he will be shipped off to Iraq and end up in the Hellhole that some of the enlisted bodyspace members are writing from and I won’t have a chance to say good-bye if anything happens to him. So, if I seem like the Grinch at Christmas, this is part of the reason why I have no cheer left in me….that and the fact that Christmas is mostly materialistic bullshit now.  Couples now exchange lists and dictate what they want their signifigant others to buy them…..they lose sight of what it is really about. My gift is not something that can be bought.  I want my familty together for the holidays, thats all.

backcomparison1.jpgTrue test of killing the legs in the inability to sit down to pee the day after legs.  day 2 is in inabilty to get out of your car. and day 3 is the day you hit those still sore puppies with a lightweight mass rep workout to soften them up and get some blood flow going. I am not complaining, bulking is fun for me. It gives me a new goal to reach for and I don’t have a competition until April anyway.

I was reading people comments here and there about stage fright. If you knew me, you would know I am one of the shyest people on the planet and if I can do it, so can you.  Yes, being up there under hot bright lights and being scrutinized about your body is harsh….but damn……..its a total rush.  I cant wait to do it again and have at least 3 shows planned in april and may already. I may not have a typical “figure body”, but I am putting my tanned ass on that stage and you know people will remember the chick with the  muscles and the long blonde hair…….yeppers….yes siree bob.

As for bodybuilding…we’ll see.  I need some time, perhaps in November of next year. You know the best thing is that I forget my age.  I think about competing and forget that some of these women are 10-15 years younger than me in the open class.  So what? Im not dead yet, right?

I didnt train because of the crappy weather.  I will be off til tuesday night and then its abs/calves and shoulders.  Talk to you later.

Broke a 400 lb leg press !

Hello folks..  I just had to come on a boast my goal of breaking the 400 lb mark on my leg press. You know its all about the numbers with us, right?  I got it on video  and will upload it to my site when its done processing on youtube .  My daughter came to the gym with me and I had the camera.  I did legs on a saturday because we are expecting a Noreaster storm, so I wont miss legs  if my gym has to close because of it. I like to think ahead.

I finally got the squat rack and my knee was okay, so I was able to get some deep squats.  Only 105 lbs, but my kid doesnt know how to spot yet and I wanted to go deep anyway, so light is okay. I did avoid the smith again for squats because I think its puts me in a weird position with my back no matter what my foot stance is. I got my daughter to do some, but she also wasnt in the mood at that point because 1/2 hour into working out,  her legs are rubbery and she doesnt want to do anything but watch me and goof off.  I did get her to do some romanian deadlifts with a barbell, seated curls, leg extensions, kickbacks on cables, linear hack press, and leg press.  She complains about her back during alot of exercises because its weak and I think she is finally realizing how important back strength is.  I am not pushing her too hard, her weights are moderate and her form is more important at this point to me.  One day, she is going to walk in there and “own” the weights…….it’ll happen, it just takes time.

After the gym, I sooooooooo needed a nap.  I love to have a nap after legs for some reason……but NO……I had to go to the mall for Christmas shopping.  I think I would rather have a pap smear than go to a mall…..seriously. It was my daughters idea.  then on to WALMART…..WALLYWORLD…..WEIRDOMART…..wh
atever you call it…..red and white hell, especially during the christmas season.  I hope anyone who had to go shopping today is still sane.  Its my own fault for procrastinating like I do every year, but I still do.

I have a secret weapon

I took a new supplement tonight.  It is a secret and not currently available in stores though, but here is a picture of my pec after my workout.  It has been over 1/2 hour and I still have a pump.  I did chest/tri and shoulders tonight. This new stuff is unbelievable!  I swear to you, I added 20 lbs to my bench from my last bulk.  This time after going lean I have been benching only 85 for months, tonight I pushed the envelope, set the safetys and benched 145 for 3 reps! I was non stop nuts.  The pump in my tris and shoulders was phenominal  too.  I had to keep touching it because its like some freaky transformation and you are thinking, “wow, is that my arm?”

Don’t be frightened ladies.  I am still very much a girl.  I just have gym fever and I like to take my daily agressions out in a healthy manner.  I can then come home and don a girly pink dress and heels and be very much a lady.  The gym is a whole different world.  In there I can be nuts, I can listen to some killer music, have some time away from the kids and discover a whole other side of myself…..time to think is important and it keeps me sane! I think if you were to meet me in person, you would be surprised at how quiet I really am.  Okay, give me a few hours to get to know someone and my goofiness comes out…….but its all in good fun.  Even when I pitch a bitch here, I am fine right afterwards and I don’t walk around angry.  I just sometimes have to say my piece and its gone right after I do.

I didnt film tonight because time was short.  I have to go to Walmart……..good God, I hate that place. I hate shopping for anything actually.

I’ll be around later if anyone wants to chat.  I may post about the recent steroid controversy…….

farside.jpgNot alot to post.  I did not train today.  Thursdays are my days off, plus we got some crappy snowy weather going on, which translates into “lay on the sofa and watch tv for me”. 

I am finally getting my Egg Whites International casien protein.  I will not give up my Intrapro, but need more protein in my diet. It lasts long and it doesnt taste like anything, so I can put it in anything I want to. My Intrapro protein powder is where I get all my daily vitamins as well. One less pill to take is fine with me.

Since I started going back to lifting heavy I feel very good. My quads are tight, my lats are tight.   I feel so much stronger.  My 7 year old wanted me to carry him to the kitchen and I hefted him up on one arm and did it.  He weighs about 60 lbs now, perhaps 1/2 of my weight.  Its so easy to impress little people, ya know?

Tomorrow night I am planning to do some filming.  I was looking at some of my old videos and I noticed a bunch of changes about my body and the way i go about lifting now as opposed to a few months ago.  Changes happen so fast!  A girl I talk to here just asked me to look at her new pics and in 5 weeks, her side by side progress pics show dramatic changes. So, if you think nothing is changing…take some pics, will ya?

Plasmajet has been a little delayed if you have been waiting for it to appear this month. Shit happens…………I have been waiting so long to try it, it seems like its been forever. Hopefully I will be getting a little pre sale gift from Gaspari before it even comes out in stores (hint). Maybe I will have videos of me running down the street carrying some beefy bodybuilder on my shoulder while the cops chase me with their tasers because I got a little wound up in the gym….I’d be yelling, “it’s not me, its the PlasmaJet”…..hehe

Im doing chest ,tris and shoulders tomorrow night.  Except for the middle delt roundness that I want, its a maintenance night.  I will still go a little heavy in other areas, but middle delts will be my main target. I have a defect on my left side, so I have to compensate for it.

3 meals a day?…….think again…..abs/lats/serratus anterior

decback.jpg1aaagy.jpgSociety has brainwashed us into having 3 “squares” a day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Let’s just throw that in the trash right now. Research proves 6 small meals a day are the best for getting lean. Often times with 3 meals a day, you are starved, blood sugar levels are all over the place and you are more incline to stuff your face with unnecessary calories.  I am also into eating and waiting 15 minutes before deciding on if you want more.  the brain takes 15 minutes to know your stomach is full.  this is why you eat and feel fine after 2nds and then BAM, you walk around feeling like a bloated blimp and need some alka seltzer ot tums and thinking, “shit, I ate too much”. I eat salad almost every night with dinner meals……….but AFTER dinner.  Its sort of a ‘polishing’ off for me.  There is no dessert. people say they do not have time for 6 meals.  Well 6 meals is alot, no doubt, but 3 are snacks of a sort.  3 can be shakes with a handful of almonds or an apple.  they dont need to be ’sit down’ meals. You cant be picky, you have to want it no matter what.  often times I have found myself leaning over the sink at work, stuffing cold food into my mouth when I said I had to use the ladies room. Nothing like cold meat and rice to make a gal feel sexy……..

Anyway, moving on.   I did abs/lats/serratus area tonight as well as some light legs.  I tell you, my quads and hams were still in a torture state from Sunday, but after working them, they feel soooo much better. Once I got some blood in them and worked out some lactic acid buildup, everything was peachy.  In fact I even got a nice tight pump in them.  I have cut down on some of the exercises I am doing since going back to bulking.  I still superset, but packing on the weight means I have to slow down the reps and concentrate on getting a full contraction, rather than just a burn.  Its fine to jump over to something like leg raises at a fast pace in between heavy sets.  I dont think its necessary to turn yourself into a slug and get abunch of fat back that you will have to bust ass to lose.  I have seen some of those bulking guys……..who have been bulking for 5 years straight………..hehe.  Dude, thats not bulking…..thats PIZZA.

I concentrated on hanging leg raises , kneeling cable crunches and bench crunches.  I am never going to lay flat to do abs ever again.  For lats I did straight bar press downs on cables, single arm press downs, dumbbell rows, cable pull downs and lat pull downs.  As much weight as I can for 8 to 10 reps, sometimes 6 reps by the 3rd set. For legs I did extensions, seated curls for hams, horizontal leg press with the butt off the sled( I have to show you that one…..my buttocks are on fire and you can bounce a quarter off them)and I did the roman chair with a 25lb plate.  Now, I tried to do the roman chair in reverse, with legs hanging down…….the stand doesnt quite allow for it, but I tried.  i really think that would be a great move if I can manage it. I could do it, but it was hard to hold a dumbell between your feet in that position. 

My daughter came with me again tonight. I am hoping she will start working out by herself a little.  She tries, but still has some “newness” fears. I tell her to go do calves while I work a machine and she wants me to go with her………damn.  I cant just stand there and watch.times a wastin.ya know?

menleash.jpgThe kid is a distraction, but she makes the gym fun.  Okay, fun for me is pain, but the other kind of giggly fun.  I taught her combo moves like having a barbell in front of you as well as 2 dumbbells.  Use the barbell to row for 12 reps, then switch up to curls for 12 reps, back and forth.  I was trying to get her to keep up her pace and superset for cardio, but she still doesn’t “own” the weights.  Also in between sets, I had her running over to do hanging leg raises when her arms were tired.  We did a few sets of calves as well and she actually has strong legs and didn’t think she did because she has those skinny calves like me. I had her work on her back more than I did because she has been cursed in the upper body region.  The heaviness of her “girl parts” has caused rounded shoulders and so I worry she is going to get serious back pain some day.  We had a chiropractor speak at my office and he said thats a real problem. Hey, she didnt get it from me!  So, I had her row and do some machine work to get her to pull her shoulders back and get some muscles where she needs them. She is only 17, so she has many years to go.

My biceps are getting stronger.  I now use 25’s to curl with.  I do make some faces, but I can get quite a few reps out and then I can do 30’s for 4 or 5 at the end of my set.

(she just yelled,”my back is killing me from the bathroom”……heheee)  I will convert that kid yet!!

I am going lighter on my back than some other bodyparts.  My back is well defined enough, including my posterior delts.  I will concentrate on my legs 2x a week, calves,bis and glutes.  Everything else will just be maintenance for now.  Oh and my lats, never can have wide enough lats.

You guys have to help me decide what to tape next.  I dont want to be boring.  I know calves and forearms are boring.  And thanks for the calves tips!  I appeciate it. 

Tonight I may do legs or skip and go tomorrow.  They are still pretty sore from Sunday.  I will do some abs and lats as well.  Have a great hump day……beware of little dogs….they seem to be hump happy
