MOTIVATION……..

motivation.jpg

This is the set on photos on my fridge.  3 of me and one of Ms Monica Brant-Peckham.  I had another of her on my dresser mirror and another of her on my desk at work. Keep your eye on the prize! So, I may never look quite like that , but it is a goal. I also post tons of pics in my before and after progress.  Some days you look at yourself and think, "nothing is changing" and God, I am disgusting".  Another thing is small gym clothes.  I purposely bared my belly because there are mirrors on every wall in my gym.  Arnold did the same thing with his calves because he said if he had to look at them, he would work them harder as he felt they were his weakest bodypart.  Also, take a bad comment from someone and use it to fuel you. "weak shoulders" comment means you are going to now kill your shoulders and later post an "in your face" photo with your new ones.  Take a photo today and compare it with a similar photo 6 weeks from now.  Many times I was down in the dumps and felt like I was spinning my wheeels and wanted to just quit….it happens to everyone.  Most times, your family doesn’t support you.  They will tell you they like you the way you are of course……….and they do, but it is YOU that has to like YOU.  I had a woman write to me who showed her hubby a "fitness model with muscles" in a magazine of whom she thought looked fabulous and wanted to be like that…her hubby said, "ewww" and just crushed her on the spot. So now, she has squashed what she wants because of someone else and will probably be all covered up next summer at the beach and miserable.  I had one of those men before.okay, more than one.  One guy wouldn’t "allow" me to wear a swimsuit at a waterpark and another though my going to the gym was actually like me going to a singles bar……..yeah right…..a singles bar. If you can get me to pop out an MP3 earbud in the gym that is…….hahaaaaa.

I know, I got off the subject a little, what’s new?  Just take a look arounf bodyspace and on the transformations of the month.  Lots of people have achieved their dream bodies.  Most of us ladies will never look like Victoria Secret models or playboy bunnies (I dont want to anyway)……..we will never be 5′10" will perfect , perky D boobs and an ass that fitsin those micro panties.  Most men are never going to look like Vin Diesel or Dan Decker…….BUT we can be enhanced versions of ourselves.  Chances are your best bodypart that you get compliments on is the ‘easiest’ to get.

In a nutshell, keep going, no matter what your friends say, what your family says..do what pleases you. You have tons of support here in our little community of Bodyspace.  We all have bad days of course, but hopefully the good days outweigh them!

This is a great blog! I have pictures of pro figure and fitness ladys that I would love to look like around the house for inspiration. My husband loves it. I feel lucky in the fact that my husband said that I should go after what ever look I want as long is it is a healthy goal. He said everyone should look the way THEY want to and not to worry about what other people say. Good luck, you look fantastic!

Wow that was really cool. Looking at all of your pictures you look like a celebrity, by my standards of course which is someone with a killer body and one who has worked to earn it. The way you write though brings me back down to reality that you are a woman like any other who wants to look and feel healthy. It’s something you had to work towards and now that you’ve come to that point where your body speaks for itself, it’s great to have someone to look up to in that sense. One of the scariest things to me is the chance that I’ll lose my control and my body will become like every other statistic out there, which is over weight. Reading blogs like yours help to keep the motivational fire burning. Keep it up. And thanks.

That is awesome. Treasure mapping is a great tool. Too many people dont do it, but you have it down pat. You go girl!!!

You don’t give yourself enough credit Fern and you know my stance on that subject. NB always in my humble opinion.

That is a good idea! Probably would work for most people. But for me….I dont know…I just hate looking at pictures of myself. I dont think I take a very good photo. So it would probably get on my nerves more than anything.
    Great post though!!!

    Fern,
I strongly believe in visualizing and it does work. It helps seeing the areas that you want to improve as well. As much as I hate it, I bear my stomach and look at my Lavern & Shirley love handles every time I’m in the gym. They are getting smaller.

So, good on you and keep up the hard work.

I couldn’t have said it better myself…anyone who doesn’t do what pleases themselves is selling themselves out.

Good idea to motivate yourself. A lot of women would love to have a body like yours. Lets see the centerfolds and Victoria’s Secret models at 39. It’s a lot easier to be hot at 20-25, but to be hot at 39 now that’s truly amazing. Keep up the good work your an inspiration.

Hi, a good post meaning plenty of replies.
I’ve got to deal with my partner telling me that I’m wasting my money on supplements etc and spend too much time at the gym as I’ll never look like a bodybuilder. The best thing to do is be selfish, it’s something I enjoy doing even if it’s unlikely I’ll ever look as good as most models, but I’ll be the best I can with what I’ve got. I may also follow your lead and take photos today and then again in 6 weeks to see any progress. If the progress is good, I may even post them online.

    Chris
