lets see……30 of cardio at lunch. I sprinted uphill a few times on the treadmill and just tried to keep my walk over 3.5 mph. I’m hungry quite often, but am eating alot of food. I just had a steak actually. One more meal tonight and I can get some needed sleep. I still have serious DOMS in my quads and have to do hams tomorrow. I found some new stuff I want to try. i may look like an idiot,but I will be a fit idiot. chicken-legs sat near me at the gym tonight…I so want to say something, or invite him to do legs. NO, I AM NOT MAKING FUN OF A SKINNY GUY!!! he has a big upper body (not as nice as you would like to think, Mr Machismo) and the legs of a 12 year old girl. i swear to GOD his calves are about as big as my arm, but he wearshis big old lifting belt and talks on his cell phone. I have seen him out where boaters hang out and he thinks he’s super studly. NOT. What is with that? I mean, does he not have a full length mirror at home. is that medicine cabinet disease?? Okay, enough about him……..
I did back/bi’s and lats. I did mucho upright-seated bent over , and overhead rows. I did lat pulldowns, single arm pull down, pullovers. I did preacher curls, regular, hammer curls , curls on cables and curls on a machine. yada yada yada… I was a little tired actually. I havent been sleeping much because I have been going to bed way too late in order to get everything done in one day that I have to. It’s nuts. i get up at 6, get to work by 730, do cardio on my luch hour, work some more, get home about 530, eat again, hang with the kids and get to the gym at 7 pm or so. then I am there til about 830-9pm sometimes, get home about 9 or after, eat again…kiss the kids,,,,,,,strangle the kids actually and now its 930 and I am cooking food for tomorrow. Oh, I did cardio tonight too. My nutritionists quest for me to do more and more cardio is killing my life. I’m sure there are mostly stay at home moms or wives in competition because no one else really has the time to work and keep a training schedule!! Crap, where’smy sugar daddy? I posted a new quad shot in my progress pics, let me know if you can see my teardrop, okay?
I have to go check my chicken…..NO dummy, not CHOKE my chicken,,,hahaaaaa

It’s true, most of us are masochists because a hard workout kills. I realize it’s my goal to cause myself physical pain, as it later becomes a reward. Shit, I’m one of Pavlov’s dog!!! Punch me in the stomach and gimmee a treat!!! I was okay this morning, waiting on the doms from my workout. I knew it was coming, I yearned for it to come……….and there it was, the inability to climb or go down stairs without wincing. Yep, I giggled like a schoolgirl because all I could think of was how goofy looking I must be. I have to pull charts for the next days patients at work, probably more than 100 actually. I couldn’t even squat down to pick them up I had to go ass in the air. May be nice in a bikini, but get rid of the visual because I wear scrubs……..sorry.
So, you want to kill your legs? Do about 20 sets of squats ( I lost count). I started at 50 lbs, kept adding 10’s til I got up to 100 plus the bar, which I believe is 35lbs. I didn’t do them all at once mind you, but did some extensions in the interim as well all leg presses of course. I’m not that nuts. Pretty much by the time I was done with my workout, my legs couldn’t take anymore punishment. I didn’t want to have to drop the weights with everyone watching. Yes, they watch me…the gym guys. We have mirrors all around and sometimes I wonder what my butt looks like back there……….you know it might look all clenched and tight…ewwwww……….
I was supposed to go tonight , but had a nap instead. I’m not stupid , recovery time is necessary ya know. I went to girly gym to do my cardio at lunch today. I got out 30 mins walking uphill as high as it could go at about 3.7 mph. I forgot my mp3 and didnt even have headphone to watch Tv, so I was bored. As for the diet, I feel like a fat pig. Yeah, I know I am not fat, but I ate all damn day. it’s like a job. My co workers have to make fun of me of course. Me and my stinky asparagus that suppposed to make your pee smell weird. Like pee doesn’t smell funky anyway? It’s PEE!!! Noet like you have a "whose pee smells worse?" contest…………
Anyway, have a super night. I have one more meal, but it’s just a shake. Good thing because I feel my abs popping as I type……….

Just a quick note for all of you who do squats with the smith machine. My ass and quads are screaming from doing them without the smith!!!! I squatted 135 unassisted and I feel stuff I haven’t felt in a long time. The smith can be great, but damn, this is serious burn. Can’t wait til tomorrow when I am walking upstairs like a preperation H commercial……..hahaaaaaa. Thats gross, huh?? I am throwing caution to the wind and doing back/bi’s tonight. I missed them on saturday because I felt over-trained.
Time to go eat like a pig. Cardio at lunch today……ewww………I’d rather be poked in the eye with a sharp stick.

I probably did 16 sets of leg extensions, started light weightm different foot positions to warm up. Then I dip drop sets starting at 110 going down to 35 lbs on single leg. My squat is up to 135 without the smith. I can het 12 easy, but am new without using the smith, so I didn’t want to push the whole balance issue. It’s so much better on the neck without the smith. The bar actually stays on the delts/trap area without rolling, no need for pads. I also did the usual leg presses, feet close together , the v hack and the hack press. I was going to do front squats, but ran low on time and besides after about 10 sets of regular squats, I was getting a little rubbery anyway. My intention to is to really get the teardrop to pop a little more. That will come in with leaness though. I hit up the dips between legs and got 20 easy. This gives my legs time to get some blood back in them after being tortured. Sometimes I bang on them a little with my first if they start to knot doing extensions, like a massage.
I tried to go to the beach today, but the weather sucked. this asswipe in a fancy car decides to pull out in front of me, so we had a middle finger fight. I think I may have won because he ran like a little girl when we got to the light. My minivan is only worth about 1500 bucks, I should have rammed him. Besides that, i was low on carbs and dangerous, you know?
I started cooking up my diet food. I am going to be eating non stop for the next 7 weeks. Yee hah!!! I have eggs, turkey burgers, beef, asparagus, brown rice,oatmeal,chicken,broccoli,lettuce, ground turkey, almonds and apples……Yummy…..my co workers are going to hate me. I put garlic powder on most of my food. Its only so I dont use salt as a seasoning. It sucks being sodium sensitive sometimes.
Thats about it. I may be posting some fat pics soon!!! Just kidding.

As of today, if I do the math correctly, I am 14 weeks out from my NPC. I placed 2nd in masters 35+ last April, but am going to cross over into open as well this time to compete with my height class. 14 weeks seems like a long time, but it really isn’t.
Today I hit up some cardo and caught up on my Muscle & Fitness mags. I feel slightly over trained, so I threw in just a few sets of forearms, a set of calves, 3 sets of dips, hanging leg raises, bench crunches, side bends, cable crunches. Okay, does that sound like alot? The only thing I did with weights was seated bench crunches and cable crunches. The rest was strictly maintenence. Tomorrow is quads, so I have to rest up a little. Oh yes, i did the forearms and they got super pumped, like full with no fat…..sweet!!! I wish that would stay with me! With the wrist problem I had to back off for a bit, but didnt want them to get skinny and atrophied, ya know what I mean jelly bean?
I was going to hit the beach with the kids, but there is no sun, just hot and miserable and looking like rain. Now I am stuck in here with all of them!!!
Oh, as for the question as to why I don’t go out on friday nights or date……..It’s my own fault. I like to wear what I wear, do what I want, talk to who I want to. I am a flirt, no doubt. But it would take a serious man to let me post my butt on the internet and not get jealous. Also to let me wear my little shorts in the gym while doing deadlifts. Honestly, I wear them because my inner thighs are geting bigger and the other kind bunch up , ride up and I would rather not be picking my shorts out of my ass at the gym. Then I wear gym pants and I slide off the incline bench or sweat my balls off in the summer, even with AC in the gym. Besides, we only get 3 decent months in Ct to wear smaller clothes. i find clothes uncomfortable. Alway have, always will, no matter my weight. I can’t stand stuff touching my neck either, like sweaters. Nope, I do not walk around 1/2 naked, shorts and tank top are sufficient. Okay, I babbled on enough. i think I want a nap.

My son has been released. He is MRSA positive. The worst staph infection you can get, but I guess they have it under control as they have released him after 4 days. He has to return for wound packing though. Of course I have to hear, "no shit mom" when I lecture him about taking his medicine. he’s like, "I am a man now"………….bullshit Nickmeister, you are still mommy’s little man, the child who grew up with me and the one I made most of my first time mom mistakes on!!! Okay, don’t get me going…………………
I did shoulders tonight. pretty stupid seeing my anterior delts were fried from chest and tris last night. I got in some decent drop sets though on shoulder presses. Did some lateral raises and hit the posterior delts a few times. I will hit them on back/bi’s day anyway. It’s my middle delts that most concern me as I am going for the capped shoulders look. I think I am going to do them again in a few days. My workouts are slow and heavy now. I do a light set all around, then come back and do a few drop sets on most everything. I don’t like to go in there cold and hit it heavy right off the bat. I did an hour of cardio on the ‘arc-trainer’ (it’s like running on air, NO impact!) then onto the bike, 30 on each actually. Totally boring!!! I am brining my own magazines or buying a novel to read, so time flies. I ended up reading health magazine. it kinda sucked. You think they would provide some M&F at least???
I have also begun posting progress pics as I am 14 weeks out from my next NPC. 7 weeks of gaining, 7 weeks of dropping!! I am working with Brandon Berona on my diet (hypo_glycermic here). The first couple weeks will be experimental playing with water and carbs. Hey Brandon!!!! He will have to put up with my low carbs, pms -like symptoms…….thats scary!!!
I also want to say hi to my best friend Rob Carbo of whom had to put his old dog down this past week and it was a hard thing to do. Been there, done that, like losing a child almost. Cheer up hon!!! We are going to have fun at the Olympia this fall!!!!

The Marine is feeling better! He has a thumb-tip sized hole in his arm, but some of the swelling in his forearm has gone down, still big in the bi and hand though. They pack the hole with gauze, is that not gross or what? I told him to get a photo of it to send home. He called me at 5am his time. It takes hospitalization to get a teenager to call home, huh?
Also, 2nd trip to my 2nd gym. I’m using it for cardio purposes. Here’s how it is……everything is yellow and purple. There is a sign for the "lunk meter", this goes off if you grunt or drop a weight. The machines are strange and not nautilus and of course , purple and yellow. I know it’s 10 dollars a month. I am POOR people, but if you don’t think your body is worth more than $10 a month, you have ISSUES!!!! Women and men spend more than that on coffee every month at Dunkin Donuts! I get no free ride on my gym memberships, but it’s very important to me to have to proper equiptment to get great results. I know it serves it’s purpose for the people who want to be more fit and not get all muscular, but damn! I can’t work out there because I will be like a freak to them. I am trying to get more women in the weight room at my gym actually, and any gym for that matter. Working out hard gets the endorphins going, working out light gets light results. Perhaps these people can quit with less guilt? I’m all for the people who are rerally trying. But at this gym, you are not allowed to use any kind of trainer. You must putter around on your own amidst the cardio machines and feel like everyone who is on them is looking at you because they are all faccing the machines. That may be quite discouraging for the self concious people. Do you want to be bending over with your ass in the air while everyone watches? I know, I know, I had to do it myself, but it didnt feel like there was an audience lined up in rows.
Anyway, I did uphill at 15 degree incline, 3.5 mph for 1/2 hour on my lunch. It was boring, but easy. I also got on the scale last night and weighed 123!!! Now to gain 7 more lbs!!! I’m on my way, 7 more weeks before cutting!!! yee hah! let’s ride……………….

I spoke with him earlier this morning. I don’t know his test results yet. i guess the good thing about a military hospital is that unlike the civilian hospital, they won’t turn him out in 2 days for insurance reasons!!! He was in pretty good spirits, flirting with nurses. His arm is still big and they have his legs under massage compression for circulation. I have to call him in a little bit. Weird how you go through life and hurt yoursself constantly, then one little cut gets massivly infected. He works in dirt,grease and diesel fuel, so thats probably where he picked it up (the infection). my biggest worry is tissue loss if the infection gets out of hand and is resistant to the antibiotics. He likes to workout and this would take a long recuperation. He’s 19, so he’s in great shape and should get well fast. Okay, he eats crap like most 19 year olds I’m sure. But other than that, pretty healthy!!
I did hams last night. I got my deadlift back up to 125 (Im a girl, thats my bodyweight plus 5 lbs or so) for 6-8 reps. I wasnt really counting, but damn my upper back, lower back , traps and hams are smoked today. i also did a few sets of calves in between, so they are super tight. Tonight is night off, except for a little cardio. My serious diet will start on monday, 15 weeks out. The goal is to put on 5-10 lbs for 7 weeks, then start cutting fat for the 7 after that. it’s going to be tough, but it gives me structure and if you came over my house…..I need structure!!! Who wants to come over and yell at these kids? 2 of them just locked themselves in my sons car in the garage . it has electric locks and no battery, so the doors wouldnt open until we found the key. Now they are bed diving…….I should be a drinker because I could really use a couple shots of Jager right now.

Got a call from his Staff sergant telling me he may have been bitten by something and his arm swelled to large proportions and he is headed to the OR. He is 3,000 miles away and I can’t find out what is going on. I’m going nuts here. I have no idea how bad it is, but it must be pretty bad to have to get surgery. I can’t even think straight.

Okay, age old debate. We all know the potential side effects and especially after Benoit killed his family, the theory of "roid rage". This hasn’t been proven to be the case with him. But let’s take a step back. How many people does alcohol kill? How many people overdose on aspirin? Who are steroid users hurting? Sure, perhaps they will hurt themselves, but did you hear some of the side efeects on drugs for erectile disfuction or the painkiller Tramadol? Nah, bet most people don’t. So, here’s the thing. A steroid user may be taking a chance on HIMSELF (or herself), but it has no effect on you does it? The world gets all out of shape because some guy killed his family. Do you know if he was nuts to begin with? I have personal friends that use, never seen one of them mad. Chances are the person they use to explain/blame roid rage on their behavior, always had behavior issue. So, perhaps next time you see a big guy walk past you in public and say, "he’s probably on roids", to you friend, just think to yourself, "does it matter?" Does it make you feel better about your own body to blame someones hard work on drug use? And so what if he is? He isn’t hurting you and chances are he’s a nice guy, but just decided to get off his ass and make changes that make him happy, correct?
This whole thing came up in my head after a conversation about it with a friend of mine. He also explained it to me in a rational manner( for Benoit.) Saying wrestlers are expected to be huge, they have no real time to work out. Their fans want massive ripped guys in the ring. That’s pressure.
There are many people out there who are naturally more muscular than others. I had a clean boyfriend with 20 inch arms, he never used. As a whole, the bodyspace community is non-judgemental in the accusations of steroid usuage, but I have seen a few comments. People go to plastic surgeons and make themselves bigger and smaller and sometimes they die on the table getting liposuction. Why is that acceptable?
Okay, I gotta run, time to eat!!!
