Happy legs day!!

I don’t know why I wait all week with anticipation of legs day.  I work out all week and love to do other bodyparts as well.  perhaps it’s the sheer power of the legs.  The weight they can take compared to the numbers my upper body cannot.  I suppose there is a certain satisfaction there,,,,,,50lbs compared to 300?

Anyway, I start shooting today for the video series on moms who want to become hardcore moms.  I don’t think I am special because I squeezed out a few pups.  It really isn’t a  good reason to be in poor shape on the physical aspect.  It’s more of a "pay attention to yourself,you have no time for yourself"aspect.  Perhaps you are driving the kids here and there, but then that becomes your choice.  In my office while attempting to schedule kids for their next cleaning appointment, moms whip out a calender, "nope, he has soccor, nope he has basketball, nope playdate, nope,nope,nope,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it’s a sad shame that sports or social activities take precedence over dental health.  How about the fact that some sports take place of dinner and while you are trying to keep your kids active, you are stopping at Mcdonalds or grabbing chicken nuggets and fries at the ballgame?  Think about it………….my kids dont play sports (they are a little shy) but they have a trampoline and swings and play in the yard.  They are not smothered with activities that seem so important to some parents.  My two oldest had a few stints in activities.  My sons football coach was a complete obsessive jerk who screamed at 12 year olds and threw his clipboard constantly……….ah, America……….apple pie and all that stuff.  Basically, you have to decide what is more important in your life.  Your kids will survive without 3000 activities, but their parents are going to drop dead of high blood pressure and stress and eating around their kids schedules.

Yes, I am hard and opinionated.  Opinions make us who were are, the shepard rather than the sheep.  I have put myself into my own priorities and my kids are fine.  My oldest is a Marine, my beautiful 17 year old daughter and I are very close, my 12 year old never talks back and my smartassed 7 year old is funny and affectionate.  I have good kids and sports didnt make them that way.  I have nothing against it if a kid wants to play, so don’t think that I do.  I am talking about the ones who’s little lives are consumed by it.  Just don’t forget yourself in there, as a parent, your life matters too because if you are not healthy, your kids will suffer more from that than if they miss a game!!!

I know reddiva will be watching….who else?  Nothing better than watch sat night fights!! Now that means I have to go buy popcorn,right? 

Oh, I flipped through the channels last night, anyone hee remember American Gladiators???!!!! Okay, that may be before your time, but I had totally forgotten about that show.  I used to watch it all the time actually. People in the audience were chanting storm and turbo……..it’s pretty funny.  I wonder what happened to all those big people.  I wonder if they still have kidneys from the juice overloads………….

I’m not a juicer hater, those guys get amazingly huge.  It’s impressive, but so bad for you.  There’s this kid in my gym bigger than a silverback gorilla, but I bet you any money he can’t wipe his own butt and get harrassed on a regular basis.  It’s his choice, not mine to decide.  I’m natural because I figure if you want to look good and be healthy, why go in the opposite direction while doing it?  I was kind of bumming about the fact that guys get all the testosterone and women get tiny amounts.  Our gains are so much less.  Bet if I was a dude, I’d be ripped to the core with all the gym hours I put in…not fair!!! 

Anyhoooo, just a few thoughts to ponder over.  I have to get this damn camera working.  It won’t record for some reason.   It isn’t rocket science, so I don’t know what the problem is.  I’ll figure it out I suppose.  It’s got a big tri pod, so there is no hiding it in the gym.  I hope no one says anything to the manager about me recording.  I hear he isnt the nicest guy.  One guy is great , but this other guy, is supposedly a hard ass.  I’m just going to bring it in like my other one and try to keep to myself and hopefully no one walks in front of it like my little camera. You have no idea how many videos were messed up that way!!!  One kid knocked if off the rack because he didnt see it.  I am discreet……………..

BB.com sent me the camera.  I am so psyched, now I have to figure out how to use it.   It’s quite a step up from my Kodak easyshare!!  But I am not a real blonde, so I am sure I will figure it out.

I did some calves and forearms today.  Thats a boring day as exercises are so limited.  I threw in some incline situps with a 35 lb plate, a few sets of shoulder presses , hanging leg raises with a 10lb db between the feet, side bends in the v-stand with a 25lb plate, and mixed it up a bit just so I could make my stay there last longer.

I did seated calf raises, the new calf machine(gives a full extension front and back) and donkeys of course.  For forearms I sit at the end of the bench and hand my wrists over the edge between my legs and curl.today was only 30, but I went to failure…..

anyone have any new ideas for forearms, hit me up.

Okay, not 100% on my game, but Sooooooo close!

I was able to do curls, dumbells and barbell.  Was only doing 10lb on db and 30 on BB, BUT I could do multiple reps with no serious pain.

Here’s a sample of back and bi’s (and a little lats)night

bent over bb rows and db rows 30’s and 20’s (Im not going to bore you with the usual 3 sets of 12, as we all know thats standard)

pecdec/fly machine 60lbs

seated cable rows 60lbs

lat pulldowns on cables (single arm) 60lbs

Bicep curls cables 30lbs

got off 12 dips tonight (arm tweaked a little)

overhead row machine 40lbs

upright rows 60lbs, hits shoulders…..pushups on the bar of the smith in between sets to keep my heartrate up, just drop the bar down all the way and use it!

wide grip lat pulldowns, I hit 90, pulls me off the seat even with the knees under the pads……….hehe

I also added in single arm lat pulldowns on cables, but from the front pulling down elbow to waist.  I like to mix it up and try new things.

I took some good videos……..oh yeah, I did traps and got some vids of that from the bad.  it’s pretty cool watching muscles work.  I will post it.  Takes awhile to upload on youtube, but I will get it in there tonight!!!

I missed my endorphins as I feel fantastic at the moment!!!  Okay, I drank 3 scoops of protein powder, you know how that makes the belly feel all sloshy, but other than that……I am ready to  explode like the incredible hulk.   later people.   I will be around to chat.   Hit me up if you are bored!!!!

WHY NO SMILES HERE?

How come bodyspace is lacking smile?  Okay, many of the pics lack heads because we are unable to get a full body in there, but when you have a head…….smile for pete sake.  You all look like you are going to the gallows.  It’s like when a cop pulls you over, if you smile, you get away with so much more (nope, never got a ticket).

onight is going to be back night.  Since the arm thing, I have been laying off things that affect the bi’s.  usually do back and bi’s together of course.  We’ll see how it goes.  I really miss doing preachers, chin ups, hammercurls and cant get the same intensity as well as when you are not injured.  I suppose it could be worse, so I am not going to bitch too hard, but I was working on bigger bi’s and that probably wont happen in the next few months. 

I didnt get my camera yet from BB.com, so I am going to use my own tonight and see what new stuff I can come up with.

7. The cardio people give you dirty looks when you breeze past them on your way to the weight room, sweating their balls off like gerbils on an exercise wheel.

8. Some ding dongs ask, "do you lift weights?" You really should say, "no , I take steroids"………dumbass……..

9. You can "feel" your glutes move when you walk and you can flex them like a freak.

10.  You can make your pecs dance like nobody’s business…………whoo hoo!!

Saving money to get to the biggest show on the planet!!  I am not competing, but that’s okay with me.  I just want to get there and be part of the excitement.  I missed the Arnold, but couldn’t afford to go.  I want to see the major difference between local/state and the pros.  the only shows I have been to are the ones I have been in.  I have never been a spectator and I think it will be a real learning experience, plus doing the same show in October that I did last April, I want to come out #1 this time.  I need some tips……………

Elbow is feeling so much better, thanks for asking!  Okay, if I turn it a certain way, it still gives me a jab, but at least I can use it now.  Tonight we will see what I can do at the gym.   My hams are on fire and my glutes are as tight as a drum, you can bounce a quarter of me…..or a silver dollar…..hehe.  I was banging out some serious curls and drop sets really seem to have kicked things into gear for me. I went ass to grass on the squats to really strengthen the tendons supporting my knees.  i know there is controversy to doing this, but it was only about 70 lbs.  I upped it another 50 and didn’t go quite as deep.  I am keeping my weights moderate to get in more reps and really BURN. Tonight I am going to try to do some shoulders. If I feel anything awkward, I will stop and go on to something else, maybe hit a little back just to get the blood going. 

 I ordered some great BSN products and can’t wait to get them.  The Syntha 6 is fantastic, but pricey ,as is the Nitrix.  I also got BSN’s fat burner, for when I need to get a little leaner and kick it into high gear.  I love the Hydroxycut Hardcore though, but BSN has such a great line, I figured I would give it a try.

What else?  Hm?  Not much really.  Kids are almost done with school and will be bugging me all summer.  I have good kids though and only 3 are at home.  Of that 3, one is 17 and takes care of herself for the most part.  The 12 and 7 year old are pretty well behaved, thank GOD!  I haven’t talked to my son who is in the Marines for about a week though and haven’t seen him for 6 months.  Man, I miss that kid.  He’s one of my best friends.  He’s 3000 miles away!!  Nick, call your mom please…………we are very close, but he’s 19 and busy, I can’t complain.

That’s about it.

Monday sucks. I have been asked to do a few videos, so I will see what I can do. The gym is typically crowded on Mondays. I guess people have to burn off their potato salad and burgers from their cheating Sundays. I didn’t cheat. I let the kids have KFC and I had a chicken cesaer salad. I’m a good doobie. I weighed 122 today. My goal is 127 or so. I imagine I will lose an inch all over in October, so I have a couple more months to build mass and will not start to diet until about 4 weeks out. Screw 12……….I don’t need it anyway. Okay, maybe I will do 6, we’ll see. Last time I dropped 16 lbs and lost some size of course, my goal is to lose 10 this time and just do a good deplete. I also want to say great work to everyone here! I love looking at the progress pics and everyone being so motivated to change for the better. We feed off each other and it’s a great thing. Tonight I am going to try to some new abs moves and see if I can work on lats with my bum arm. There is a machine I like, I just have to take it easy and maybe get some cables and rows going light. Chest is out until I can bench comfortably ,as are tris. I should be getting the cam to start shooting the video series this week. I only have a few days to shoot before I have to send it in for editing. I’m wracking my brain for ideas. As I said, have a great Monday. Who won the fight? Did Griffin? I don’t have ppv………….. happ

First of all, I decided to grub it up because I hadn’t yet had coffee, went to bed with my ‘fro wet, and it was Sunday morning………not even mascara…………so low and behold, a beauticious man at my gym.  Damn, why?  NO ONE there ever affects me………..til now.  I don’t want to go all girly dammit.  Nope, didn’t talk to him, just snuck a few glances like the goober that I am. 

So, I warm up with the leg presses, only doing 90, hack squats, squats on smith, leg extensions, my glute routine on cables, leg curls seated and laying, butt blaster, adductor/abductor and around probably 3 times each.  I decided to do drop sets the last pass around.  I’m finding it is good to get 8 great heavy reps and work my way down the next 2 sets.  I don’t want to plateau.  I didn’t squat more than 100 plus the bar though, thats about my bodyweight.  I did do calves again though because I am concerned how my lower legs look long and thin.  I’m 5′3" but my legs think I am 5′10".  The arm is a bit better and I have kind of narrowed it down to a tendon at my inner elbow. 

 I start shooting for the video series this week, but I will obviously not be doing dips or chin ups until later on.  I’m so nervous! I just want to prersent a good image for other moms out there.  You can’t look at women in magazines and think, "I can look like that".  I would like to be an acheivable physical goal for women, telling how it is and just being someone they can relate to.  I have no special powers, I’m divorced and live in a 200 year old crappy house with a bedroom that has no heat and no outlets(wanna buy it? It’s for sale).  I shop at Walmart, drive a minivan and work at a dentist office.  I’m an accounts manager who is supposed to harrass people for money over 90 days past due.  I can’t do that.  I suck at it.  I know people have to buy groceries before paying the dentist…….shit, I would.  It’s just hard for us when we look at images in a magazine, but it seems to far out of reach to grasp.  I post my gripes and my woes, but I do not ask anyone to feel sorry for me as I have much more than I used to in the past.  Plus my endorphins and my caffeine keep me constantly elated….heheheeeeeee.  Can you tell I just had coffee?  Bet you are like, "this chick can go on forever!!!!!!!"    Yeah, I could actually, but I really need to do laundry and feed the fruits of my loins.  So, have a happy sunday, smile because it really does make you feel better (as queer as it sounds).  or I am coming over to kick you ass………………or cuddle………….or spoon……….who needs some spooning????????
