Yikes!!! I am in a slump right now. Feeling really unmotivated. Don’t know if it is due to my hubby being home, my schedule interupted and gaining the 3 lbs. or WHAT!!! Just feeling really un motivated!
Pass your motivating thoughts AND what do YOU do to stay motivated?
All help is so appreciated!

Well for me, I just got back into the game. I realize the type of change that I am making for my health. When I don’t feel like running, I DO IT ANYWAY. When I am too tired to lift, I LIFT. In those cases I actually lift hard b/c it’s as if I am angry with the weights. Get mad, get pissed, snarl up and be an unstoppable machine, an immovable object and GET IN THE GAME!!!! GET SOME!

For me getting motivated is simply looking in the mirror and then making the drive to my local Y. When I walk in I scan the room to look for someone stronger or in better shape than I and I get to work baby! Vanity is a sin, albeit my favorite one, but it also can be a true motivating tool when used for such purposes.
I have found the hardest lift of the day is my ass from the couch, from there it is all down hill :0

Remember that what you feel is not real. It is just a mood. When you try to apply a reason for a bad mood you give it power. You are in control of what you do and feel. When you feel unmotivated let the feeling pass. It has no power over you at all. It is not tangible. Without shape and form it cannot fight your active will because you are real and have shape and form. If you do what it takes to reach your goal you have succeeded for the day. Even if your actions seem weak they still move you foward. A bad workout is better than no workout. Soon you will be back to full motivation.

Lack of motivation (for me, at any rate) is usually a combination of mental and physical fatigue. I find that a short break (one or two days) away from the gym is beneficial. I continue to eat clean, but don’t lift at all. Instead I do other types of exercises (biking, kayaking, roller blading, etc.). That usually refreshes me so that when I return to the gym, I’m ready to kick a**.

Usually whenever I get into a funk, I get my motivation back by creating a workout and food plan. Even it it’s the same one, I break out the Excel spreadsheet and just start all over again. Once you start putting pen to paper, or keystroke to computer screen you’re telling your brain to do something. Two things should happen. 1. You get all fired up and can’t wait to get back in or 2. The same thing, but you realize you can change a few things in your eating or exercising and that makes you even more excited to try something different

Look at your progress pics. Do it for the black-faced one with the long blonde hair.
