One week and a day post Surgery-
I am starting to feel better, still pretty sore in the morning though! I am still taking my muscle relaxers and pain meds but not as much so I am more lucid! They are almost a disguise for how I am feeling such that I REALLY wanted to get into the gym yesterday! Ok, so I did….. Mostly out of boredom and to see some of my buds. I went with the assumpiton that I would simply do cardio (recumbent bike is all they will allow me to do for up to 4 weeks) and got excited. SO- I did a bit of leggies! Ok, light leggies- nothing like I usually do, looked like this:
Quad extensions- light weight- 2 sets- 15 reps- 50 lbs.; 2 sets 15 reps- 60 lbs
Seated ham curls- 2 sets 15 reps- 45 lbs; 2 sets 15 reps- 55 lbs.
Seated leg press- 2 sets 20 reps- 70 lbs; 2 sets 25 reps- 60 lbs.
Seated Abductor (glutes)- 4 sets- to failure- 55lbs.
Then I did 25 min. of the recumbent bike (which I HATE by the way so it was like torture) followed by some backwards step lunges (on step- no weight- 12 reps- 2 sets).
I felt GREAT when I left, a bit lightheaded but good!
I am sore today (not my legs but my boobs!) so I guess I was using my chest muscles to stabilize.. I am taking a break today and will hit cardio only tomorrow.
I have a girls day with my girl friends today. We are hitting the wine and art festival here in Houston, beautiful day- 80 degrees and partly cloudy so we will have a BLAST! Coming back to my house and having a PJ Spa party! What more could you ask for (if you are a girl!)
