Why do cheat meals…..

Make me feel like CRAP!!!!  Ok, I know I am following a super clean diet all week but I feel so damn guilty by the time I get to my cheat meal, it is not even enjoyable!!!!  What the CRAP!  Takes the fun out of it I suppose…

On another subject, I have been REALLY craving sugar lately BIG TIME!!  What gives?  I did some research online and it could be my seretonin is low?  Has anyone tried 5-HTP Supplements?  What helps curb the sugar cravings?

Today was my off day.  Not feelin all that well today due to some bad fish last night and I had a hair appt. that took freakin 3 hours!!!  GEEZ!  It is hard being a woman some times!  Tomorrow is Shoulders/Abs/Calves and Cardio.  Looking forward to it!

Legs Day- Whew, it’s GOOD to be back!

Wednesday is now my legs day..  Wednesday and Saturday.  Knowing I had a late meeting at work, I snuck out for a "long lunch" and hit the gym.  Gosh, it is ALWAYS dead around 10:45am.  I LOVE IT!  I get to hog all the equipment and giant set w/o any noobs getting in the way (no offense noobs!)- but some of them just SIT THERE and take about 5 min. between each set.  COME ON NOW!!!  That is not doing you ANY good unless you are lifing super heavy and are Jay Cutler, K? 

Anyhew, I am back ALMOST to 100% intensity- Ok, so I blew it out today but that was LOWER body…  Upper body is still hovering around 75%-80% intensity.  Started doing some new stuff on the squat rack…  Single leg squats w/ bar.  WOWWWW  Talk about a butt burner!  Jeez Louise!  I was so sore just walking out.  Ok, so here is what we did today!

Warm up- Eliptical 15 min. 

Squat Rack- 2 sets- 12 reps- warm up for my knees- 45lb bar only

Smith Squat (ok, I know, I know..  but my boobs still hurt, K?)- 1 45lb plate 1 25lb plate- each side- 10 reps for 2 sets then 8 reps for 2

Squat rack- Single leg squats- bar + 1 10 lb plate (each side)- 12 reps each leg- Went kinda light since I wanted to get my form down. first time doing these and I LOVE them!  They burn baby!

Box Step ups with 10lb plates in each hand- 6 each leg

*** Giant setting for 4 sets ****

Moved on to:

Walking lunges- 15lb dumbbells in each hand- 15 each leg

Romanian Deadlifts- 45lb bar- reps of 12

***Supersetting for 3 sets***

Ahhhhh- Now for the machines!

Sitting Calf raises- 4 sets of 10- 2 sets at 45 (warm up); 2 sets at 60

Standing Calf raises- 4 sets of 20- 2 sets at 45; final 2 at 3o - YESSSS. I was dying!

Abductor machine- 4 sets of 10- 160lbs (hold the contraction at the peak and holy CRAP it burns, I’m walking funny now!)

Adductor machine- 4 sets of 12- 130lbs for 2; 150lbs for 2

Seated Hamstring Curls- 4 sets of 10- 2 sets at 70; 2 sets at 90

I would USUALLY do quad extensions BUT I was so freakin sweaty and tired, I could not do it!!!

I will hit more of a quad focus on Sat.  Today was my "glute and tie in day".  Summer is coming!!!!  Can’t have any ham hocks hanging around now can we? LOL

3 week FAST FAT LOSS diet-MOTIVATION NEEDED!!! :)

From Oxygen Magazine-  I am going to start it TOMORROW!!! My hubby comes home in just shy of 3 weeks, so I can get rid of the last 3% bodyfat!!! Anyone want to join me? Remember, don’t go GUNG HO in the gym, dial back the training, high reps, lower weight less sets than normal. Try not to do too much cardio- 15-20 min of HIIT or 20-25 of SS should be fine during this time.. You need to consume 1 oz of FRESH H20 per pound of body weight!!! NO artificial sweetners of ANY kind!!! You must follow it EXACTLY for it to work. You in?

St. Patti’s Day Cardio Blitz

Ahhh..  completely off the meds now and back in the gym.  Working up to about 75% intensity now.  Monday is usually my off day but the hubby comes home in 20 days so I am in the sprint stage of my fat loss marathon!  HOW am I going to do it you ask?  TONS of cardio PLUS total focus PLUS a mild keto.  YUMMY!!!  So tomorrow is St. Pattis day and I am about 80% Irish (my grandmothers maiden name is ***an)- Yep, you guessed it.  I likey the drink!!!  BUT I need to stay focused and my eyes on the prize!!!  SO- Here is my grand plan for my St. Patti’s day Cardio Blitz- In lieu of my regular "chest" workout on Tuesdays (HOORAY I don’t do much chest anymore :) )

Warm up- 15 min of HIIT on Eliptical

Triceps and abs-

Triceps- Skull crushers- 4 sets to failure

Triceps- Superset close grip push up- 4 sets to failure

Abs- decline oblique twists w/ bar- 3 sets to failure

Triceps- Rope pressdowns- 4 sets to failure

Triceps- Superset single arm overhead dumbell presses- 4 sets to failure.

Abs- hanging ab raises- 3 sets to failure

Abs- superset cable crunches- 4 sets of 15

Abs- oblique cable pulls- 4 sets of 15

Stairmill- SS for 20 min.  followed by high incline bike for 10…

Back in the gym!

12 days post surgery and I am feeling really good!  Off the pain meds now, still taking the muscle relaxers at night so i don’t tense up too much in the pec area….  I hit the gym on Monday for Shoulders/Abs/Calves and some cardio.  Had a great workout even since I only lifted 50% intensity..  I did high reps and was SORE yesterday!  Actually, I am still sore today!!  Last night was bi/tri night with some SS cardio on the recumbent bike.. GOSH!  i hate that recumbent bike, so freakin boring!  My bi/tri workout looked like this:

Skullcrushers- 20lb bar- 4 sets 20 reps

Tri kickbacks- 10lb weight- 4 sets 15

Vups- supersetted between tri/bi supersets

Bicep curls- 4 sets 15- 12.5 lbs

bicep bar curl- 4 sets 15- 20lb bar

did some 21’s with 10 lb. weight- to failure..  about 5 sets- really burned it up!!!

Rope tri pressdowns- 30lbs- 4 sets 15

bicep rope hammer curls- 20 lbs- 4 sets 12

Did some oblique machine twists- 20 lbs- to failure- 3 sets

25 min. on recumbent bike- hills level 8

Felt GREAT after and I am sore today!  mostly my biceps..  I am really liking those 21’s- BURNING it up really helps them to pop!

I got on facebook yesterday (my kiddo said that everyone is on it so I should too!)- I got in touch with tons of people from Highschool.  CRAZY!!!!  How fun!  Now I am addicted! :0

One week and a day post Surgery-

I am starting to feel better, still pretty sore in the morning though!  I am still taking my muscle relaxers and pain meds but not as much so I am more lucid!  They are almost a disguise for how I am feeling such that I REALLY wanted to get into the gym yesterday!  Ok, so I did…..  Mostly out of boredom and to see some of my buds.  I went with the assumpiton that I would simply do cardio (recumbent bike is all they will allow me to do for up to 4 weeks) and got excited.  SO- I did a bit of leggies!  Ok, light leggies- nothing like I usually do, looked like this:

 Quad extensions- light weight- 2 sets- 15 reps- 50 lbs.; 2 sets 15 reps- 60 lbs

Seated ham curls- 2 sets 15 reps- 45 lbs; 2 sets 15 reps- 55 lbs.

Seated leg press- 2 sets 20 reps- 70 lbs; 2 sets 25 reps- 60 lbs.

Seated Abductor (glutes)- 4 sets- to failure- 55lbs.

Then I did 25 min. of the recumbent bike (which I HATE by the way so it was like torture) followed by some backwards step lunges (on step- no weight- 12 reps- 2 sets). 

I felt GREAT when I left, a bit lightheaded but good!

I am sore today (not my legs but my boobs!) so I guess I was using my chest muscles to stabilize..  I am taking a break today and will hit cardio only tomorrow.

I have a girls day with my girl friends today.  We are hitting the wine and art festival here in Houston, beautiful day- 80 degrees and partly cloudy so we will have a BLAST!  Coming back to my house and having a PJ Spa party!  What more could you ask for (if you are a girl!)
