The Winter Blues…

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

GEEZ, I am so tired of winter already!  Sound familiar?  Ok, so I am in Houston, TX and we don’t typically have much of a winter here ANYWAY but this year, mother nature came late!  So, now as we roll into February the climate is COLD, the gym is PACKED and I am finding it harder and harder to stay focused on the **PRIZE** which of course is a hot bod by the time hubby comes home.  NOT to mention the great health benefits I get from being lean.

I have not taken any new pics lately due to the fact that right now I am in *hibernation* mode.. Meaning I have a BIG suprise in store and I don’t want to spoil it!  So as of now I am on a 4 day split, working legs, chest and shoulders 2X a week (I won’t be able to lift or do chest work for at least a month after Feb. 26th- hint hint!).

So, I have a NEW 4 day split that goes like this:

Day 1- Biceps/Triceps/Calves- no cardio- 3 to 4 exercises per body part

Day 2- Legs/Abs- cardio for 20 min- 4-5 exercises- focus on quads

Day 3- Chest/Shoulders/Calves- Cardio for 25 min- 3-4 exercises per body part- heavy focus on front and side delts

Day 4- Back/Abs/Calves-Cardio for 25 min- 4-5 exercises per body part

Day 5- Legs/Abs-Cardio for 20 min- 4-5 exercises- Focus on glutes

Day 6- Chest/Shoulders/Calves- Cardio for 20 min- 3-4 exercises per body part- focus on rear delts

Day 7- Cardio or rest

I am doing high sets (sets of 5) high reps (12, 15, 20, 20, 25 or failure) low weight for cutting….  You could do it with lower sets and reps for building too!

Anyway, pics are coming soon!!!  Probably mid March or so.

See ya!

Blood type dieting?- Eat Right for your Blood type? Good bad or ugly?

Monday, January 19th, 2009

Oh wow….  I just finished reading this book "Eat right for your blood type".  What a WAKE UP call…  Anyhew, I did not know my blood type so I ordered one of those "kits", ya know you have to prick your finger blah blah blah… Easy enough.  RIGHT!  I am such a weenie that I just could not do it..  My son "volunteered" but that freaked me out so I ended up pricking my leg so it would not be as bad.  It was not a big deal, guess it was just the anticipation behind it!

Found out that I am O positive.  That is good, I am a universal donor so the Blood Center will LOVE me!  What that means is that I am the "oldest" type and essentially a hunter/gatherer…  So, my body does not do well on grains and fruits..  DUHHHH  Now I know why carbs turn me into the super pig…  Was kind of funny seeing that I am supposed to be eating weird shit like chicken hearts and beef liver.. YUCKKKK!  I don’t eat red meat at all (no weird gamey stuff either) so I am down with the bird… AND lots of fish.  I am cool with fruits, no melons or strawberries though due to high mold counts.  And WHEAT is TOXIC to Type O- damn shame….  Also toxic is PEANUTS and BEANS- two of my favorites!  My husband would attest to the Toxic and Beans statement (LOL!):0

I thought it was an interesting read and I plan on implementing some of these suggestions to my clean eating regimine to see what happens…  What I found was that my husband (who is a body builder) is a type A blood and supposed to be a vegitarian.  hahahahah.. RIGHT!  He would DIE without meat and protein.  Guess I will have to work on him, more fish and chicken, mostly fish though for protein.  OH he can eat lots of peanuts and beans!

Just curious if any of you guys have followed this advice/diet and what your results were?

POLL: I would give my right arm for a…..

Monday, January 5th, 2009

(insert junk food item here).  UGHHH sound familiar?  Man, I am so craving sugar!  What the $%&^ is wrong with me?  Yes, ok I am just about to get a visit from Ms. Monthly but I have not been on a sugar tear in quite some time!!!

Right after my last family member left for the holidays, my son and I threw out ALL the junk that was in our house that "those people"- you know as Chicken Tuna says:  " The crap pushers".  It was A FULL BAG of crap.  Chips, dip, cookies, cake (I don’t even like cake!), pie, cheese (the fat laden kind), etc…  Now I am back to Chicken, vegis and the occasional Whey protein cake.  Not so bad!

POLL:  What kind of junk are YOU craving?  How are YOU handling your cravings?  I would love to hear from you!

New Recipe and Cooking Video!- Chocolate Protein Cakes

Saturday, January 3rd, 2009

Howdy from TX ya’ll!  Wow, I am SO craving sugar lately!!!  OMG!  It is like I am freaking scouting all over this house looking for the last of the peppermint candy canes!!!  UGHHH.  NOW that I am in crunch time and dieting down for my Feb. 26th goal of 13% bodyfat, I am looking for ANYTHING that can get me through the cravings!

SO, I trolled through the forums and found a REALLY EASY fantastic recipe I thought I would not only share here, but also do a cooking vid of!

There are SO many variations to this, since each cake only has between 110-150 calories (if you add milk!) you can try alll of them!

Chocolate Protein Cakes- (some of you may consider it a brownie, more like a cake to me…)

1 scoop Chocolate Protein powder- WHEY- DO NOT USE CASSEIN (I tried and it was totally nasty)

1 tsp. baking powder

1 tbsp. of any of the following toppings (ONLY ONE PER CAKE YA’LL!):  Crushed Walnuts, Natty PB, Carob chips, Crushed Almonds-

Water to moisten ONLY- I used about 2 tbsp.

Mix the protein powder and baking powder together thoroughly.  Then add the water and stir to moisten.  Mixture will be very thick, that is good!  Then add your topping.

Put in microwave for 30-45 seconds and watch it like a hawk!

Remove, let cook and eat!  You can add 1/4 cup of milk to it, I love it that way!

Delish!

Enjoy!

If you have any other recipes, PM them to me for the www.bodymotioninc.com site!

New Year, New You?

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

I know that sounds so cliche!  BUT, this year I am not making ANY resolutions…  I am continuing on my journey to live a happy, fit, active life…  The side effects?  Looking HOT and having tons of energy!  Plus, living longer! How can you beat that?  2008 was such a crazy year…  Moved into a new house, husband got deployed to Afghanastan, started a new job, pool contractor ran off with all our money, ect….  Some positives, some negatives.  I totally took control of my body this past year and 2009 is my year to refine it…  I want to gain muscle, lose bodyfat and look AMAZING laying by my pool this spring!

I urge all of you to make a positive change to think positive and make positive changes in yourself this year…  It is TOUGH but worth it!!!  I would love to help too!!!

You can also visit my website for inspiration and motivation!!!  I will be spending much more time on it this year…
