CLEAN Oatmeal Raisin Cookies- YUMMY!!!

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

Oh my gosh!  These are SOOO good!  I made these for my 2 1/2 year old nephew and he loves them!!!  They are also great as a preworkout meal!!!  Low sugar, low fat, high taste!  Hope you like them!!

LaLa’s Clean Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
I made these for my 2 ½ year old nephew, he calls me “Lala”.  This is a wonderful, chewy cookie made the CLEAN way!  They also make a GREAT preworkout meal.
Enjoy!
Ingredients:
½ Cup Unsweetened Applesauce
½ Cup Olive Oil Spread
¾ Cup Organic Light Brown Sugar
¾ Cup Splenda  (for Baking)
1 whole egg and 2 egg whites
1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
1 Tbsp. Molasses
1 ½ Cup Whole Wheat Flour
1 Tsp. Baking Soda
1 Tsp. Ground Cinnamon
½ Tsp. Ground Cloves
½ Tsp. Sea Salt
3 Cups Rolled Oats
½ Cup Rasins
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  In a large bowl, cream the olive oil spread, applesauce, splenda, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla until smooth.  Add the flour mixture (flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt), stir in the oats and raisins.  Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 10-12 minutes until light and golden.  DO NOT OVERBAKE!  Cool completely before moving to rack.  Store in airtight container.  Enjoy!

Here we are again- SUNDAY!

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

Ah, I just love Sunday!  Usually it is my mende workout (cardio) at the gym, but I had my mom up at my house and a crapload of stuff to do…  I am having Christmas at my house this year which equates to LOTS of booze and a perscription for Valium.  LOL- I am prepped for both!

I had a session with a Sr. Trainer at my gym yesterday.  More of a consult.  My intent was to learn some "new" moves since I am getting bored with the same old stuff…  OF COURSE he tried to sell me the package, blah blah blah…  I told him "no thanks" and was honest about my intent.  Would you belive he got PISSY!!!  I mean really pissy with me.  Whatever, what an ass!

I was carb cycling as well so had NO carbs in my system for 24 hours.  I warmed up (per his request) by running on the treadmill PRIOR to my legs workout (which I NEVER do, I always lift first to save my energy).  NOW I got a little over eager and ran 3 miles.  probably not such a good idea but I was high on Superpump too..

We did legs and Triceps.  Started with some walking lunges (w/ 25 lb dumbells) supersetting w/ deadlifts on bench (with 25lb dumbells as well.  I was ok with those.  We went right into side walking lunges to deep squats with cables (not sure why we did those)…  Moved to triceps (dips w/ one leg raised) then did more walking lunges w/ tricep overhead presses (w/ 10 lb plate).  Suddenly I got REALLY dizzy and felt like I was going to puke.  I mean felt REALLY bad!!!  I am pretty sure that my blood sugar got dangerously low.  I KNOW some of you think that it is an AWESOME workout if you feel like you are going to puke, me too! However, this was not like that…  I got cold sweats and felt really clammy.  White as a SHEET!

Anyway, we had to cut it short (hour and a half) and I went home, puked and took a nap..  Turns out I had a freakin stomach bug!!!

NICE!!! Anyway.  I am back to do leggies again tomorrow.  I did not learn anything new from this trainer guy so I am going to save my $1500 he wanted for a program (YUP, you heard right!!!- $1500!)

HAHAHHAHAA.  I don’t think I would pay elvis that much for help.

Ya’ll have a great week!

Cya!

FAST- Day 1 readout

Monday, December 1st, 2008

Ok, day one of my first fast..  So far so good!  My nutritionist has me eating fruit, so I am sticking with Berries, grapes and some melon.  I eat a banana postworkout..  I am also drinking a concoction of Organic Lemon and H20.  This mixed also with dandilion and milk thistle for a liver detox.

Went to the gym tonight and as always, it is leggies day!  I always do legs on Monday and Friday (not many people there on these days so I can do giant sets and hog the free weight area- lol).  I was thinking that I would have a half assed workout since I am running on very little calories but AMAZINGLY I ROCKED IT!  :)

I had a GREAT workout and I have tons of energy STILL!  Did my usual Monday leggies:  split squats on smith giant setted w/ raised heel goodmornings, calf raises and olympic bar squats.  4 sets of these then on to the machines giant setted w/ walking lunges (w/2 20 lb dumbbells).  Quad extentions, ham curls ( I drop set the 3rd and 4th set- total of 5) leg press, standing calf raises and walking lunges.  THEN I threw in some inner thigh work on the machine.  Managed also to squeeze in some ab work.  Did some obliques laying on the bench taking legs side to side (thanks Deb!) supersetted w/ leg extensions on decline bench, obliques on ball w/ 25 lb plate and some crunches (w/ plate).

Followed that up with a fantastic cardio session!  25 min. of HIIT on treadmill- sprints for 45 sec. then rest for 1:15, repeat, etc..

Anyway, I hope I still am this optimistic about the fast tomorrow!!! :0

If you would like to join me, Come on!!!

Cya!
