Sunday- Starting my 3 day fast TOMORROW, R U IN?

Ah, Sunday again!  What a great weekend!  Did not pig out for T-day, actually went to have Viet. food in Downtown Houston.  NAKED Chicken w/ steamed vegis.  Yes, I had a spring roll as well and some awesome jasmine tea…  NOW on to the fun part!

My 36th Birthday is on NEXT Sunday, December 7th, so I am doing my FIRST 3 day fast…  My nutritionist suggested I do it once per quarter to both detox and restart my metabolism.  I should also lose about 5 lbs, mostly water as I flush the fat out.

I am eating fruit and drinking TONS of water and tincured herbs (Milk Thistle, dandilion) and some organic Lemon Juice in my H20. 

Anyone else game?  I could REALLY use the motivation and would love someone to join me on the journey!

Today was my cardio day, mende workout with 5 min. on Eliptical in between sets- 4 sets total plus 5 min. cooldown and warm up..  Was really a great heart pumper!  Also practiced on the pole a bit, I am starting to look more graceful, LOL!!!

Hope ya’ll have a great week!  Tomorrow is leggies day, hope I can go heavy w/ only having fruit all day!

SUNDAY- The day to begin anew!

Ah yes, some say Sunday sucks but I see it as a chance to start fresh!  Since I was sick most of last week, I only got in 5 days of training with only one day of leggies..  YIKES!  Sunday, today, was cardio.  SO, I mixed it up a bit!  Practiced on the pole (some new tricks) for about 45 minutes.  HOLY COW, that is really tough!  I mastered my climb and tackled the basic invert.  Over the holiday I plan on learning some more combo moves and working on my inverted climb (that one will take some practice!!!).  I can’t wait til I can really rock on that thing!!!  I plan on posting some pole moves in the next few weeks as I get better at it!  By no means am I graceful, yet, but I am getting there and making progress!  I have a new respect for all these gals who do it every day…

Also took the pup (ya know the one with the mullet) for a 2 mile run.  He loved it!  I thought the pole was MUCH harder than the run!!!

Anyway, enjoy your FRESH week!  Remember, Pumpkin Pie has 450 calories AND Pecan has over 800!!!!  Choose wisely!  Me, I will be at the gym!

Being sick and sticking with it….

I wanted to post a quick blog AND ask the question to ya’ll:  Do you workout when you are sick?

I started to get sick on Sunday and hit the wall on Monday night following leggies day.  I am currently suffering/recovering from a sinus infection and was totally out of commission yesterday (Tuesday).  Missed my Chest and Tri workout cause I basically slept all day…  Went to the Dr. today for a shot in the butt and to start antibiotics.  I am the unlucky one who comes down with this stupid infection almost like clockwork when the weather changes in the fall.  Good news, I know how to treat it and know how long it takes til I am up and ready to rock again..

 I must say, I had the shot at 9am and it is now almost 6pm (Texas time) and I am already feeling better.  NOT good enough to hit the gym though.  I missed back and bicep day today which means I have 2 catch up days to fit in this week!!!   It was a struggle to stay on my clean food plan since all I really wanted was some chicken noodle soup- ya know the kind that is condensed with 5 million tons of sodium in it?  With some super high GI crackers..  BUT, I did not break down.  I did have a glass of OJ which I never do since it is LOADED with sugar, but my body was craving it.

Do you guys get annoyed when sick people show up at the gym?  I must say, I DO!  I figure I did myself and the folks at the gym right by staying at home and sleeping.  NOW, I am off to cook my weekly chicken (since I have been sick since Monday, I did not cook my meals for this week…) then bed.  I will be back at the gym tomorrow for Chest/Tri/Abs make up day and some light cardio (until my chest cold is totally gone).

Whew, what a weekend!  My son was with his dad so I had a "free pass"!  Friday was legs and abs day followed by HIIT.  Then I met a friend at a local wine bar, NOW I remember WHY I don’t drink wine!  UGHHH, was totally hungover on Saturday, but managed to head downtown for a nice lunch and the UT vs. Kansas game… YEEHAW- Go horns!  They won, by a LONG shot!  Anyhew, made it home in time for Cops and AMW.  Needless to say, did NOT make it to the gym on Sat.  That’s ok, it was an off day..  Spent most of the day getting all the christmas stuff out, man did I make progress!  I got 3 trees up, ornaments on one, lights on all, garland on the stairs and lots of accessories!  I just have 3 trees to go plus the outside.  It takes me like 3 weeks to get it all done since I do it on the weekend.  I go a BIT overboard on the holiday decorations!  I just LOVE it!  I hit it hard today, cardio and my mende workout- Those of you who don’t know what that is, it is kinda like plyometrics but with light weights..  I really like it once per week, gets my hard pumpin!  Did 3 sets of full body mende workout with 10 min. eliptical warmup (sprints) and 5 min. between each mende set.  THEN finshed with some light ab work (decline crunches w/ 25 pound plate; v-ups with 15 pound weight in between feet; cable crunches and ab machine crunches)  and 10 min. stairmill.  Did my pennance today!

Tomorrow is leggies day AGAIN, I am working them 2X a week and noticing an improvement!  Just gotta stay consistent w/ my diet!  THAT IS THE KEY!  I have 4% bodyfat to goal by the end of 2008, I WILL make it!
