Ah, it’s a glorious morning! I stayed up WAY too late last night in the madness called "misc." LOL I don’t know why I subject myself to that. It was fun but certainly not something I’ll do too regularly. The flamming is funny, I guess amusing would be the better term.

Anywhoo…. I am nice and sore from my leg workout yesterday :D I Love it! I’ll be doing upper body today and will probably take the weekend off. I’ll be working Sunday which means being on my feet and walking around for 9 hours straight.

Legs Baby!

So I finally got out of my post vacation rut. Yesterday I managed through an abbreviated version of my upper body workout. Today I walked my daugher to school with the intention of running the few blocks back to the house as my warmup… well… it felt so good I made it a little longer.

I worked legs today and did a fine job. When I was able to on the last set I did a few extra reps, so I’ll be increasing some weights I think. I got the super trembly feeling in my legs after the workout which lasted nearly 2 hours! YEAHOO! I can feel I’ll most certainly have DOMS. In fact, even though my workout yesterday was half-assed, I still managed some DOMS. I think it could have to do with not working out for just over a week due to the vacation.

Mexico Vacation

I’m back from a 5 day all inclusive vacation to Mexico. I thoroughly enjoyed myself (and the food) and didn’t manage to do a lot of exercise which I am disappointed in myself for. The vacation did end up being fairly active with fishing, ATVs, and plenty of walking. I caught a Marlin which took me 31 minutes to reel in and was the high point of my trip. I worked up a good sweat getting that bad boy on the boat. It didn’t help that another guy on my boat had a Hammer Head shark on the line at the same time. The Marlin and the Shark went the rounds, but it was an absolute blast!

Anyhow, now I’m home and having a hard time getting back in the swing of things. I feel completely lethargic and hoped that getting back to bb.com and the forums would help kick me into gear. I think it’s working and hope to be lifting nice and early tomorrow. Maybe I’ll make it outside for a run or bike ride tonight after it cools down a bit. I know I’ll feel so much better after I work out, but I just haven’t been able to force myself to do it yet. I ate like complete crap for the first couple days we were home. I’ve finally cleaned things up and am cooking healty again. So, one step at a time huh!

Pictures and Measurements!!! =D

So today I did my lower body workout. It felt great and surprisingly I still had great energy even though my workout ended up being much later in the day that usual. I can already feel that I’ll be sore tomorrow…. YES! I didn’t manage cardio today, but was very tempted to go for a run this evening since it was so cool outside for a change. But, the lovely hubby brought home the movie "Breach" so we watched that. It was very good.

 I also took the time to take my measurements and get them up here. I haven’t taken any measurements since I was really tubby around 175 lbs. At that time my thigh was 27 inches! I was thrilled to find I’ve lost 3.5 inches! I mean, I knew I’d lost a bunch of weight since I’ve gone from a size 14/16 to a 6/8, but actually seeing that number was great. I was 135 lbs when I got pregnant with my daughter in 2000. I was 129 lbs at my lowest weight in the Army. I have no idea what weight I’ll end up at, but I know at least that I’m not far away. I know I’ve got more muscle mass than I did then, so I’m not entirely sure what to expect.

Welcome!

OK, time to get this thing started I guess. This is going to not only be the best way to hold myself accountable for my workouts, but it’s going to be a damn fine way to track how far I’ve come. So, in the very near future I’ll have to update my stats too.

I did my first workout in my "new" workout area. My Hubby cleared out the back porch and put down the mats we had bought. He got all my stuff set up with mirror and all. How sweet! I had just been lifting in the living room and he was getting fed up with weights all over the place all the time! I’ve even got a little window AC unit back there since it’s a porch and obviously wasn’t cooled otherwise. It can get pretty toasty here, and the porch faces South….

 So, today was a quickie upper body workout. I was in a time crunch since my dear sweet daugther dragged her feet getting out the door and I had a lunch date with the girls. I skipped cardio and abs and just did my lifting. Hey, it’s better than doing nothing at all. Lunch, eeeeek. I killed the whole clean eating concept. Olive Garden’s soup, salad and breadsticks… YUM! Then after a couple hours we ened up at Applebee’s getting the mucho margarita’s and the appetizer platter…. looks like I better not skip the cardio tomorrow! lol But it’s OK, a friend is in town I haven’t seen in a long time, and I’ll just have to count today as the cheat day.
