Live True - Daily Grind #249
In the middle of my spin session today I glanced down at the bike next to me and read the LiveStrong logo on it's side. I was a huge Lance Armstrong fan and remembered the Nike commercial below. Since his true character has been revealed though, he has been rightly fired from being chairman of the non-profit LiveStrong organization that he founded. I'm surprised Nike hasn't found a way to get rid of these commercials on the web.
I've used this very video as motivation in the past. Now it is a vivid reminder of the tragedy that is one who sells their soul for personal gain (Mark 8:36-37). I would rather be true and poor, than rich and false. The LiveStrong logo will forever remind me that it is much better to live true.
Lord, root out all that is false within me. Fill me so completely with truth that I become totally transparent. Then will the divine image You formed in the Garden of Eden shine forth. Surely this is what it means to be "Christ-like" (Hebrews 12:1-2).
Daily Grind Friday February 22, 2013
Felt much better today, even though I fell asleep almost four hours later than my normal bedtime. This is the easiest workout of the week for me. After yesterday that is just what I needed.
Warm-up
--Standing Drills #2
--Ropa Dope 10 Spot
--Indian Clubs 10 Spot
Superset
--Wide Grip Pull-ups, bodyweight only for 5 sets of 10 reps
--Dips, bodyweight only for 5 sets of 10 reps
Spin Bike for 30 minutes
Workout Quality: A1. Like a well oiled machine.
One thing that we all should learn from the Lance Armstrong situation is that we should never hold mortal man as high as we often do. I hope Lance and everyone involved are better off today.
