What Are You Cooking? - Daily Grind #223
What do you usually do when you wake up each morning? It may vary a little on the weekends, but if someone was watching they would most likely say you do the same things every morning. You may not call it a morning ritual, but that is what it is anyway. Be it personal hygiene, coffee, reading the paper, or whatever it is you do, you do it as if set on automatic pilot. It is not a question of if you are going to bake. It is only a question of what you are baking. You can put dirty diapers in your oven if you want, but no matter how long you leave them in the oven they will never taste like biscuits. If you want biscuits, you have to use a biscuit mix. In the same way your morning ritual sets the course for your day, and sows the seeds for what you will reap over time. Little things that enhance health, done automatically everyday have helped me return to the vim and vigor of my youth. Even adding one small thing like flossing your teeth can mean the difference between always being able eat an apple or having to put your teeth in a jar each night.
I don't know what the Rock is cooking in his morning ritual, but it looks like it is working for him. What about you?
