I wonder

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

sometimes if people really ever take the time to read my blogs?  regardless of the answer, it’s cool b/c i’m usually writing for myself. so with that being said, let me talk to self for a moment………………

you’re really doing a great job getting up at 4:30 every morning in order to get a good workout in.  I must admit that i admire you for having the dedication and determination to push through all of the obstacles and excuses.  besides, you could always say that you had a very long day at work, or you’re tired from having the baby with you ALL DAY, or blah blah blah….but not you!!! you have a goal in mind and you see the finish line.  you have become painfully familiar with what it takes to travel the lonely road to greatness.  your sacrifices inspire me to be a better me.  But self, most of all, it is your relentless, ignorant pursuit of  perfection that baffles me the most.  I love you self, but i must tell you that you can never be perfect.  maybe it’s in your best interest to put all of this working out foolishness aside and enjoy life instead…..c’mon, you could be drinking, eating junk food, and partying all night long.  doesn’t that sound like the life you want.  Self……haven’t you noticed. that has become the American way.  there’s no need for you to punish the both of us by exercising that now extinct principal you like to call DISCIPLINE! take comfort in knowing that given the circumstances………………you NEVER stood a chance!!!!

Or you could

PROVE ME WRONG!!!!!!

til next time………

i’m back!!!!

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

for the first time in more than 5 months i was back in the gym yesterday.  dang it felt good (other than the fact that everyone i saw was like….dude where ya been).  another thing that i noticed is that i actually held my own. after comparing myself to the guys that’s been going to the gym constantly since i’ve been gone, i’ve come to the conclusion that i’ve still got it.  i might have gotten my via lots of clean eating and thousands of push-ups/crunches, but never the less! now that i’m back in the swing of things, i’m hoping that by incorporating the heavy lifting back into my routine will truly put me over the top.  i’m wrestling with the idea of tryin to compete next year.  i have absolutely no idea what it takes or what the first step is, but every journey had to start with an idea right? who know what will happen?? all i do know is that my legs are already killing me, b/c like any REAL gymrat will tell you……….after being gone for so long, it’s only natural to start with the lower body right?  Had another good one this morning.  looking forward to getting my cardio in along with the wife after i get off work today.  just so much going on, and it ALL GOOD!!! Glory be to God! I’ll holla……………

Looooooooooooong Weekend

Monday, July 21st, 2008

talk about being tired this morning!!! whoever came up with the idea of RESTING over the weekend and letting your body relax, obviously never had to move, put furniture together, and get their cardio workouts in (all in 2 days)!!!! but that’s exactly what i did.  i really thought that i was going to be able to go to the gym last night and get my back workout in, but after lifting box after box and couches and beds…..ummmmmmm my back was shot!! so instead i decided to play basketball for 2 hours (yeah, i know, really smart right)?  everything was good this morning except for the fact that i could harldy move a muscle.  damn, i am ready for the weekend! well, gotta hit it hard today anyway! i’ll holla

I can’t wait

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

it’s been a hectic couple of weeks for my wife and I.  She’s doing her new rotation which seems to be a light year away from home.  We’ve committed ourselves to working out together and eating healthy.  It’s been one thing after another lately.  I haven’t worked out in a gym in more than six months.  On top of that, we had to move out of our apartment this past weekend and are now looing for a new place to stay.  it’s just starting to get a little overwhelming.  I really cant wait until we find our new place and get the workout equipment so that we can workout ANY time we get ready to……I’ll be keeping you posted!
