Ahhh……the age old office politics.
Though being new in this company, I felt & observe there are many politics going on. Well, I am not getting myself involved and certainly tried to avoid it as much as I can.
IMO. Customers is the ultimate person to decide if you’re a excellent worker. Customers’ words have the ultimate bearing on our performance, our salary, our feel good feeling. There is no need to perform any extraordinary action to polish one’s name or to gain credit.
If you work for a company, somehow office politics will get you involved. Because people are different personality and personality can crash on one another.
I tend to be good at listening. And sort of be the listening ears for many rants for many hours, many days now. Somehow, new colleagues feel good telling me about. Each time, they tell something they rant about; they say "I know your character…I’m comfortable with you." There is nothing much I can do but listen. Listening is good I supposed, it gives me a chance to prepare myself from politics & not to immerse in it.
Man…!!! Sometimes, I think I’m too kind or what. Today and many days, my colleague have been giving 2 thumbs up for being patient. What can I say……lending a listening ear does no harm.
Some of the rants go way too nasty and I tried my best to calm the persons. Even during overseas, I received text messages (rant messages). I still offer my "advices" & calm the persons the way I only know.

In any election, there are winners and losers. Any failure has its factors. The link above listed out some of the concerns.
The well known reasons are already voiced by many Malaysians. The continuous fuel price increases, more inflatory basic necessities prices, escalating crime rates, racial preferential policies, corruption, just to name a few.
The government also failed to adopt new alternative media, Internet, to promote its campaign and failed to see Internet is a serious business. They failed to see that Malaysians are switching to Internet to read more concrete information. More internet blogs are spreading information regarding governmental projects failure & bailouts, political scandals, etc. The failure to see internet is a serious for communicating information raise a question mark over a government, who refuses change.
Just like a successful company, the board of directors and its key leutienants will need to be review its performance, unlearn & relearn, innovate new ways for business, constant renewal of its product & services; to survive its progress into the future years. Progress is a word that does not guarantee success without doing what is necessary to leap into the future.
There are many small townships in Malaysia where the government had failed to live upto its promises. The promises to provide job growth, wealth distribution, economic opportunities for all races, failure to promote the mouth tongue languages & schools for each ethnic race (Chinese, Indians & Malays), crime rate has risen tremendously over the decades, corruption is so widespread you can pay off cops for almost anything . The list can go on forever.
Remember Mr.Farang didn’t have a very good childhood.
There is no way to blame its current leader. To paralyze a political party, an organization; it must have taken many years & mistakes. To paralyze a country filled with rich resources, it takes decades of favorism & cronyism.
Act now!!!
It seems to be the country leaders have yet to listen and act properly.
http://malaysiakini.com/news/79724
Rumours of government tempting the opposition members with money to jump ship to win more seats (to win one of 13 states in the countries). Rumours cannot surface without some kind of act. Rumours cannot be quashed unless the government decided to end all these rumours.
Act now!!!

A political tsunami as many called it in Malaysia.
Malaysians voted for change.
For years, many have suffered and survived through marginalizations.
Now, the people stand up and voice the loudest noise yet. This should serve a very good opportunity for the opposition to perform. If they deliver results for the next 4 years, people will like to stick with the new opposition coalition (PKR-DAP-PAS).
With these in questions (some of them were problems unsolved for decades), people decided anything but the Barison Nasional.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barisan_Nasional
For years, some the underlying problems unresolved :
( i ) Unequal education opportunity inwhich university entries are based on race rather than educational results,
( ii ) with entry into university denied for many, many ventured out of the country to study aboard in countries i.e. USA, UK, Australia being the famous educational destinations;
( iii ) that makes part of the nation’s money flow out of the country besides other reasons i.e. economical deficits.
( iv ) A country should embrace the world standards i.e. as simple as embracing English language. We cannot enforce our national language with trading partners, there is no way it is going to happen. English is the way to communicate with the world. Without promotion and embracing English language in schools, the human resource of this country is poorer than neighboring country. No doubt about that.
( v ) Crippled with the judisciary scandal, government-business scandals; people decided a change is needed.
( vi ) Living standards have increased tremendously with oil price affecting our people daily basis. As an oil exporting country, we increase our oil price for few times in the last 4 years.
( vii ) With Malaysia economical growth by 6+%, this has not transformed into job growth for the people. This inevitably caused people to switch votes.
These are only small list of reasons for the ruling coalition’s failure in the election.
Here are the results in 2008 Malaysia Election results :

Here we are projecting ourselves as a multi-racial country (dominated by 3 major race), living in harmony. We just celebrated our 10year anniversary visit our country year to attract tourists. We project ourselves to the middle east as the moderate Islam, fair to all, multi-cultural, living in harmony, good business practices, etc; underneath such prositive images, lived millions of people marginalized by economic wealth, business opportunities, education opportunities, etc.
E.g. We still hear voices telling us their kids scored exceptional, excellent results and not able to entry into the university. The University entries are still based on quota allocating to 3 races. Once the quota for the 2nd & 3rd races have been filled, these students with excellent results are not allowed to entry into the same university.
There are voices telling us that 1st race had their grades entry qualified "loosen" by fill up their quota even as the results from the 2nd & 3rd race students are far more excellent.
Entry into university based on quota is such bullshit and old fashioned.
We still have a certain race group paying more for housing and vehicles whilst the 1st race group get better discounts.
There is a recent email circulating in my country, which saddens me. I gave my reply duly with respect to body building experience and support the boycott of that restaurant.

I think a boycott is in order – maybe this is Umno ‘ s cunning racist plan to keep the malays on their side and keep voting for them. They have special NEP, special discount for houses – now this. What next – maybe they can buy petrol cheaper and do not have to pay toll – just flash a songkok or something at the smart tag lane and go through free!
Hello everyone. I have some interesting news.
I was in Pizza Hut (Sunway Pyramid) yesterday and suddenly my friend showed me the bill.
The bill contains normal things la (number of person, bill. number and what is ordered). But, what shocked me is that they had space called ‘ RACE ‘ .I guess since we were all wearing tudung, they labelled us as 0, which means MALAY. Later, when we went to pay…we had no service charge and no tax charge.
Still in shock, I peeped into another bill in the counter. In that bill, under the race space, it was labelled as C (which I guess means Chinese). That bill had service and tax charges!!!
I started investigating. One of my Sri Lankan friends was labelled as Indian it seems and she also had to pay service and tax charges a few weeks back. What I ‘ m wondering is that…does anyone know about this? I find it rather strange that they charge service and tax charge using racein Pizza Hut, out of all the places!
WE SHOULD NOT GO EAT AT PIZZA HUT!

Subsequently, the particular restaurant manager of the country responded.
“”"QUOTE”"”
<strong />
Dear all my friends whom I have not met, but came across through the circulation of this malicious mail alleging that Pizza Hut Malaysia practises racism, charging sales and service taxes only to certain races and discriminating against others.
Just want to assure you and all your friends that this is a hoax and hate mail that has been going round since mid 2006.
In Malaysia we do not need anymore of such nonsensical and irresponsible lies through the email.
Thus, if you could please re-circulate back to those who has been propagating the hoax and hate mail, we are doing ourselves a favour by telling the truth.
Pizza Hut Malaysia is a Public Listed company and we are bound by law to collect the 5% sales taxes and we also have a 10% service charge on table service as all dining restaurants do.
There is NO service charge if you do a take-out/ takeaway order.
We will never ever deviate from the law of our land. Should we do anything as accused in the hoax and hate mail, we will be asking for big trouble.
At one time, we were collecting some info about our customers to see what is our customer profile so as to help us serve them better.
However, some malicious people have turned it into a hate mail. So it is a lie and please do not believe in the hoax and hate mail.
I am the Senior General Manager of Pizza Hut Malaysia and I am assuring you and your friends that we are also a franchised company from Yum! Restaurants International, another Public Listed company in the US. We are law abiding and honest company.
Final note, I think it is really grossly unfair and unwise for Haris Ibrahim to post a hoax mail (complete with pix to make it look real) on your website without checking its authenticity.
Someone once said that if we kick-around a lie around long enough, people will believe it as a truth.
Haris Ibrahim, efforts like this will undermind your very credibility that you are championing!
Your help to just circulate this to your friends will be greatly appreciated.
In addition, I have also attached our official statement for your attention.
Thanks for your help

“”"UNQUOTE”"”
My reply is as followed:
I am not from IT. It’s for those who have study digitial photography perhaps can check the photos out.
( i ) is there a photographic forgery?
( ii ) has Pizza Hut studied the photo and confirmed those photos are real/fake?
( iii ) In defense of such claims that such email is hoax, should the Pizza Hut organization advise the above ( i ) & ( ii ) before stating so?
If you are in exercise, bodybuilding, keeping fit, etc, which I noticed there is such a trend rising in Malaysia; I will advise you this.
( a ) every fitness instructor will educate you that you can bulk with other bulking food; there is NO NEED for pizza.
( b ) But if you are into keeping slim, fit; pizza hut is the last place you want to visit. You do not need simple carbs for keeping fit. Pizza Hut is serving your simple carbs, why bother going there?
( c ) save your money and have a massage with the money in hand.
