After one year off

Wow i can’t believe its been a year since my last post. I had some medical stuff this last year and I think I gave myself the ok to use it as an excuse to stop working so hard on my diet and exercise. But this last week I just happened to glance at the weight on my drivers license and freaked out. I was at my heaviest when I renewed my license then and Thurs. I weighed myself and I was only 4 lbs away from being there again.  My body shape is different now though. I have still been going to the gym just not doing it as much. I really let my eating go too.  But all that to say that I am back on the wagon and in just 3 days I have lost some of the bloat that was getting to me. And I have gotten back into strength training and spinning again. i feel good and am excited to look good when summer rolls around agian!!!

Well I hated updating my profile page just for the fact that the scale has gone up over the holidays and now I am having the worst time getting those little pounds off!! They were so hard to get off in the first place and I can’t believe how quickly it came back on.  I told myself that I wouldn’t need a new years resolution, but here I am to say that I want to look good in a bikini this summer, so I am going to hit the gym hard and eat cleaner. Those holiday treats killed me with their addictive chemicals and crap.  My hubby is done with his bulking phase and is now leaning up and so we are going to do it together! I was walking in Target yesterday and saw they already have swim suits out, so as motivation I think I might go buy one and hang it on my mirror so I see it everyday and know that I want to look good in that itsy bitsy teeny weeny whatever color bikini I pick out!!!!

One question for the moms out there….  The hardest part for me is the belly fat and love handles… I am almost tempted to look into plastic surgery to get rid of it… not really, but that loose skin from pregnancy, does it ever tighten up on its own or is surgery the only way to fix it? I have been at this working out and eating better thing for a while and those dumb handles just wont budge as much as I want them to. Any thoughts would  be appreciated.

Ok, Thanksgiving is over and I just threw out all the BAD leftovers. That was really hard for me because I was brought up with the thinking that you are to finish every last drop of food! But I did it because it was all loaded with sugar and carbs!! So let’s all do a WHOOP WHOOP! for me!  Thanks!

So then I decided this morning that I would attempt to keep a food journal. I have never really kept one before so I will try. I gained back about 3 lbs. over this weekend and I want to get it off!  We are big fans of "The Biggest Loser" and the girl that got voted off last week is on the cover of prevention magazine. She had such determination on the show and never gave into temptations… that’s what I want to do… and lose 5 lbs. by Christmas!!!

Ok, so it is so wrong and conceited to say, Wow that picture is HOT!!!!? My hubby took it for me and while I was at the gym this morning he put it up for the new avi… I had no clue!!! But DANG!!!!  Everytime I look at it I can’t believe it is me! I still have that darn fat to get rid of but I am feeling pretty good today!!  Thank you to everyone who as left encouraging comments and ratings! I was thinking though that to bad it took this sexy picture to get a ton of people to look at my page…. But it is so good!! :)

At the gym today I pushed myself a little hard… I woke up with a BAD headache ( I feel ya Tom!) but I pushed through it in spinning, wanted to puke a couple times. Then went to strenghth training and added 2 1/2 lbs to each side of the bar, 25lbs total, for back rows and bicep curls. I also did 10lbs each arm of scull crushers. Anyway, that might not sound like a lot, maybe it is, but it was for me and I loved it. I totally saw definition in my shoulders and biceps. WOOHOO this workin’ out stuff is fun!!!

Body fat test today

Ok I went to the gym and had my BF taken… It was 26%! One % down from 3 weeks ago. That is cool. But the trainer said that because I lost 3lbs since her last testing, it looks like I lost some muscle mass from maybe not eating enough protein.  I think she might be right. I was so focused on the scale going down that I cut back a bit on what i was eating. I don’t count calories or anything. I just eat the good things when I am hungry, so I just might not be getting enough protein. So I think I will start drinking more protein shakes in between REAL food meals.  So it is now time to go to the grocery store and stock up for another week of clean eating.   OH…. one more thing, I SO fit into this pair of pants that were low rise and size 6…. They were olmost falling off my hips so I put  a belt on and the belt was on the LAST hole and I was still pulling my pants up all day…. Man I just wish I had money to go out and buy a new closet full of clothes!!!

Yep today I turn the big 3-0!!! Wow time flies!!!  So my first goal was to lose 10 lbs. by my 3oth birthday ( which would give me 6 weeks to do it). Well here we are at my 30th and my goal was not met, but…..  I have lost 6 lbs and have gone down in size!!!! So to me I did meet my first goal… to look good for my birthday party!!  I went shopping for a new outfit for my bash ( I know, I am such a girl) and I was totally surprised when I had to get smaller sizes. I even got a pair of capris in the junior section!!! Awesome!!!

So all this to say that I am feeling pretty good today, I am 30, I am getting buff, and I have lost 6 lbs and an unknown number of inches!!!!

Ok Off to the gym!! (Yep, even on my birthday)

Ok Ok my last blog was kind of pathetic!!! But thank you to everyone for their great advise and comments. I posted new pics on my page and can totally see the difference!!! So it is a new day, I am going to continue what I am doing, and continue to see the change. Everyone on here is so encouraging and helpful and really want to see you do your best!! That is awesome!!

I am so sad right now

I am so frustrated… so it has been one month sinco I started this journey. So today I went and got my bodyfat done!!! I was very optimistic, thinking that there would be quite a change. Even my husband was saying last night that I will probably be pleased with the outcome… Well guess what? I am NOT!!! According to the gym scale I have only lost 2 lbs. and 1% of body fat!! 1%!!!  The trainer said that I have lost 1 lb of fat and gained 1.5lbs of muscle. Okay that is good I guess… but I have been reading all of the success stories on here and seeing all the progress pics and I was motivated because I am eating right ( and I was totally proud of myself because I haven’t had any desserts or sugar for that matter in a whole month) and have been hitting the gym hard for 4 weeks now…. I just want to know what I am doing wrong… I have been eating more veggies and fruit than I have in my whole life… I have been eating whole wheat, when I do bread, and I have been doing 5-6 meals a day. Does anyone out there feel this way? I just don’t understand. I am totally in tears right now…

I haven’t talked to my husband about all this yet, and I know he will either get irritated with me for being sad, and tell me to just give up and go back to the old way ( which I really don’t want to do) or he will just try to explain to me how muscle weighs more and I am doing things right, my body is just not responding fast..

Is it possible that I just will never be in the 120’s and that I will always have this fat pooch on me?

Sorry I am being totally depressing, but I didn’t know how else to express my thoughts.

Don’t worry I will continue and work hard, I do like the way I feel… and I do want to do pics to SEE if anything is different… I just haven’t had a chance yet. My clothes so feel better and loose.

Anyway… I will get over it I guess

Multivitamin

Oh my goodness…. Yesterday after working out (cardio and strength training) I got totally naucious(sp). I think it is because about 45 min before going to the gym I ate my normal 3 egg whites and 1 whole egg and a bowl of raisin bran and then took a multivitamin ( my first one since being pregnant 2 years ago) and I also took a thermo fat burner thing. I had a good workout but when I got home I was totally shakey and my Hubby said I was pale. I could hardly get my protein shake down ( I gave about 1/3 of it to my 2 year old). So I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion as to when the best time to take a vitamin would be. I think I will try at night before bed and see how that goes.  

Ok so I think I am doing well… Love going to the gym. I am also going to try out some recipes this week that I got from a magazine. I just read a blog from Shelby Wylde… and she was saying you can’t loose wait and build muscle at the same time… that you need to get rid of the fat first and then build muscle… I thought doing weights helps to burn more calories/fat… does anyone agree with that? Maybe she was talking to people who have alot of weight to loose and want buldging muscles. Any thoughts on this would help relieve my confusion… because I don’t want to lift weights if it is not going to help me loose the fat… I will loose fat first and then lift… I don’t want to be "ripped" just really toned. So I think what I am doing is ok (cardio and strenght training, over all body work with light weights)… Let me know your thoughts….
