Shoulders…

Friday, April 18th, 2008

Tried a new technique I saw on http://www.myfittribe.com/ it was cool and I was feeling it.  In the video it’s called 25’s… You start out doing 5 reps (at the weight most comfortable for you) start w/front lateral raises, then move your arm back just a little for 5 more and so one… you hit side lats and end with doing bent over raises.  You hit every angle of the shoulder and basically 5 positions and 5 reps.  My shoulders were burning and I had to lower my weight.  I also did my normal dumbbell press, and shrugs.  I was going to go for upright rows however, I was fatigued.

Have a great Friday!

Another GREAT workout!

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

Did chest and Tris today.  Good times with dumbbell press, dumbbell flyes, bench dips, kickbacks, and rope pull downs.  Didn’t do any cardio today but probably should have :(

Have an amazing day! ;)

Meal Prep

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

Just finished cooking for today.  I think BodySpace and the people on it share so much so I wanted to share a couple of my recipes.

Chicken w/Marinara sauce, Spinach, and Artichokes:  Bake- at 450 degrees, 6-8 chicken breasts.  Line pan with parchment paper (or non-stick foil), then add a thin coat of Marinara #99 (Marinara Sauce from Trader Joes), add chicken, top with spinach and artichokes, and then sprinkle a little parmesan cheese and bake for 40 minutes.

High Protein Bread: This is one of my favorite on the go snacks but parishable.  I use 5 scoops of BSN Lean Dessert (whipped vanilla is my fav.) then, 1 cup of egg whites, 1/2 cup of water and mix.  pour into a 8-9" loaf pan (I line w/foil and spray w/non-stick olive oil) Bake at 425 for 25-28 minutes, top will be golden brown.  remove from oven and let cool.  The bread will be puffy when you first take out but will fall and taste amazing!

Enjoy!

Summer is around the corner and I’m getting ready… Are you?

Monday, April 14th, 2008

Today it was back and bis at gym and then down to the beach (it is so beautiful out) for stairs and sprints.  Feeling GREAT!  I am so motivated I want to smile all day!  I looking forward to Olympia weekend too, and hopefully meet up with some of you!  Have an amazing day!  Let’s do this!

P.S.  Yes I am still using/testing Gaspari. I ran out of the IntraPro but using another protein.  Today I did sip on my SizeOn, love that stuff mixed with Xtend by Scivation.  I will not be posting progression until the end of May.  That will be my one year here on BS!  Can’t wait!

Ignorance is bliss.

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

So I am at the grocery store and I’m checking out and I am purchasing a couple of my favorites fitness mags (Muscular Development and M&F) and the lady decides to comment (I didn’t ask for her comment) how she didn’t think this man’s arms look attractive… I kept my mouth shut and just said, "I love reading these magazine they have great information…" Now, I could of said, "Look you ignorant little punk… no one asked you what you thought and beauty is in the eye of the beholder!"  Anyway, in my opinion the men on the magazine covers are always beautiful in my eyes and I admire the hard work and dedication they put into to creating their physique… perhaps if she went to the gym, ate healthy, and realized that this is not an easy but chosen lifestyle than maybe she would be more appreciative of someone’s hard work instead of stating their negative opinion.  Life is too short to be mean and critical.  We need to see the beauty and the good.  We need to see and comment on the positive and create it!  Just wanted to vent!

Changed it up today-

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

I was planning on hitting the gym but decided to take it outside today… It was perfect and exactly what I needed.  45 minutes of sprints and walking… It was a nice change.  One more thing it was nice to see people who walk by say "good morning"  I mean by the time I was finished… all I could think about it that I am having a GOOD MORNING!  A little fresh air sometimes really makes a difference.  Don’t be afraid to take a day out of the gym and get outside, you won’t be disappointed!

Tired…

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

Been so tired all week and have not made it in to the gym once.  My body would rather sleep than get up and workout… It’s not because I don’t want to workout because I do and I enjoy it.  Sometimes there are weeks when you just have a lot going on mentally and it drains you physically and I think that is the case here.  I have a lot of stress at work right now.  I am going to see how I feel and hopefully make it in for leg day on Saturday but if I don’t, I’m not going to beat myself up… I’ll be back in the saddle next week.
