Rolfer (Structural Intergrator)

So I just got done with my second of 10 series of rolfing with my rolfer who is also one of my clients that i train.  I have decided not to compete this fall because of the fact that my body has been out of alignment.  Actually there is a lot to this story.  I use to be a mild stutterer up on until 5 yrs ago.  I have taught myself how to control it, which has been a life long goal of mind, and I have succeeded.  Because of this my structure inside and out has been shifted really bad, ribs, muscles, organs and nerves has played a big role in my misalignment.  I am so grateful for having the opportunity to have this done.  Ultimately put my mental state and physical state back in balance.  There has been a lot of misconceptions about rolfing, how it’s painful, it can be if you don’t know how your bodyworks and you aren’t in tune physically.  If you are lifting weights or playing any type of sport you should definitely have a rolfer.  I believe everyone should have a rolfer no matter who you are.  I have learned so much about my body through these sessions it’s crazy. Check out  www.rolf.org if you want to learn more
Rolfing is a system of body work that can make dramatic changes  in a person’s structure.  Rolfers believe that the shape of the body reflects how well it is operating and how well lined up (balanced)  it is with the field of gravity. The general goal of Rolfing is to bring  the various segments of the body (head, neck, torso, pelvis, legs, and  feet) into balanced and supportive relationships with one another.

Rolfing’s one of my favorite modalities to use in my massages! I’m not fully certified to do the whole 12 sessions, but the principles in it that I can apply are definitely some of the most effective. You’ll be in great shape when you’re done with your program!

Glad you posted this. I have been interested in rolfing since reading an article on it in Discover magazine back in like 1984. I do a ton of computer programming so am constant at the screen during the day. Hope all goes well with your rolfing.. need to do another look on their site for rolfers in my area. Looked last year but never followed thru.

    Have a good one!

I actually have a few pics of me taken last yr and I can see a definite imbalance when I was standing tall. You can’t do the before and after thing lot of mine is internal and also you can tell by the way I walk but you have to know what to look for. One of the things that really bothered me is my floating rib. Lets just say I am pretty locked up and I feel awesome already. This rolfer is a master advanced rolfer, she is absolutely amazing.
