Thursday & Friday Workouts

July 13, 2007

Well its Friday, and I don’t know why I didn’t write yesterday, so I’ll do it now.  I guess my mind has been on other problems I’ve been having lately.  Hopefully, everything works out.  Alright, enough jabber, here’s the workout:

 Thursday (Chest)

60 degree incline DB Press: 25×15; 40×12; 50×10; 60×10

Decline Hammer Press (just the weight on one arm): 90×12; 90×12; 105×12

Cable Crossovers: 40×12; 50×10; 60×8

Usually my chest workout is longer, but my chest was so pumped and fatigued I thought there was no point in overtraining and just called it a day.

 Friday (Legs)

Leg Press: 90×15; 160×12; 180×12

Supersetted w/ One Legged Presses: 50×12; 60×10

Still Legged Deadlifts: 95×12; 115×10; 135×6

Hack Squats: 90×8; 90×8

Leg Curls: 60×8; 60×8; 60×8

Step-Ups: 15/leg for 2 sets

Standing Calf Raises: 90×12; 120×10

Calf Raises on Leg Press Sled (weight on one side): 190×10 for 3 sets

This is like the second time I haven’t done squats in like years for a leg workout.  Mainly b/c I noticed that my leg that I didn’t get surgery on is progressing a lot faster than my other one.  For example I can’t even do leg extensions w/ my right leg b/c the pain on my knee is that unbearable.  Also, this workout was weak as I don’t know what.  My mind just couldn’t leave those stupid problems that has been going on lately.  I really tried hard, but no matter what I looked at or thought about…it always went back to that, sigh.  Next week will definitely be better (I hope), at least my workouts will be.

Stay Tuned for tomorrow’s workout: Arms!

The Beginning…

July 10, 2007

Well its been a tough week already w/ some personal problems so I thought I would take my mind off it by actually tracking my progress and goal of gaining 30 pounds in 30 weeks.  At my height, 30 lbs doesn’t seem like a lot, but it sure is to me lol.  Alrighty, I guess I’ll start w/ yesterday’s workout.  My workout is based a lot on of principles and exercises from Charles Glass’ show "Getting Cut With Glass".  Also, please note my #’s are in lbs not kgs.

Monday (Back & Rear Delts)

Lat Pulldown w/ pro-grip bar: 90×10; 135×10; 165×10; 180×8

Seated Cable Rows w/ D-handles: 135×10; 150×10; 165×8

Upper Lat Hammer Row: 130×10; 180×10; 230×8

Lower Lat Hammer Row: 130×10; 180×10 drop set 90xfailure

Reverse Pec-Deck: 80×12; 95×10; 100×10

Overall it was a pretty good workout, too bad my day got a whole lot worse after my workout which I won’t go into here, but it didn’t surprise me.

Tuesday (Delts)

Cable Lateral Raises: 20×10; 30×10; 40×10; 30×10

DB Front Raises w/ twist: 10×12; 15×10; 20×10

Arnold Press: 40×10; 40×10; 40×10

Wide-grip Upright Row: 50×12; 70×12; 70×10

This workout took about 35 minutes total, I usually take too long w/ my rest periods but now I don’t play around a minute or 1.5 minutes, and I’m ready for more.  Overall a great workout, really felt a nice pump in the delts.  Also doesn’t hurt getting compliments on the progress.

Next Workout: Thursdsay (Chest)

I’m going to have to get over my fear of being chopped in the misc and get some front shots, b/c I’m tired of just back shots.  I have some on my camera, but need to upload them to the computer.  I’m going to do the mandatory poses and after I reach my goal I’m going to check the progress.  Now, I need to go take some new pics.

Stay Tuned…..

The Copycats…sigh

November 24, 2006

You know when you’re in the gym and working your butt off, when all of a sudden you can feel somebody’s retinas burning a hole in your head like they’re Superman or something?  You look over and notice its some guy who’s mentally sizing you up.  The funny thing is, he’s not big or intimidating at all.  I bring this up b/c I had a run in w/ him today @ the gym.
I’m at home for Thanksgiving Break, so I go up to workout and its Legs and Biceps day.  The copycat doesn’t show up while doing squats (lol, of course) but when I’m done w/ legs and move into Biceps the copycat shows up full force.  I start to barbell curl, he starts to barbell curl.  I’ll usually curl 95lbs or so w/ a curl bar, so when I see this guy who’s about 150lbs soking wet, I just have to see this.  He starts off to curl the exact same weight I use w/ the worst form you’ve ever seen.  I just wait to hear him slip a disc or something.  I move on to hammer curls w/ 55lb. DBs and guess what, copycat picks up 55s as well to "show me up" lol.  With a motion that mimmicks the Lollipop kids in The Wizard of Oz, I laugh under my breath at his attempt.

You wanna know the killing part?  After every set, copycat would glance over at me in a way like "I could do that too" or "That wasn’t so hard" kind of look.  Copycat is also the same guy who lifts his shirts up after every set to see his abs and shops at Baby Gap to make himself appear "big".  This guy makes me laugh everytime I go home.  Thanks for the laughs Copycat.
