Successfully completed my CFT and relieved that it’s over in time for me to enjoy the rest of Dec off before I’m at it again. I’m liking the changes that are becoming more evident in my body as my nutritional and exercise plan are enforced. Keeping in mind that my nutritional plan hasn’t been jacked up to being 110% clean as I am still enjoying the Occasional glass of red wine and dessert. That however will change as of Jan 2nd as it will then take me 3 months out to my competitions.
My attitude is no longer just to compete to fulfill a personal goal, but I want to win, so I have to bear down, and go beyond seeing myself winning and mold this body into the finest piece of art work possible.
My fitness trainer Judy continues to push and challenge me; after a session with her brings more awareness of physical pain, (a few choice words) the burn and what I am capable of when I push beyond "the pain".
I need to get around to taking new pictures…guess my relaxing mode has caught up to me but I am so enjoying this welcome change.

I’m having a way more productive week all round in my nutrition and exercise plan.
Nutrition wise I have eliminated all fruit, and increased my fibrous carbs…4 days LC, one day HC and so on.
Had another intense session with my trainer Judy…man, she’s tough but sweet…is that really possible:) liking what I’m seeing so I’m stoked and not even close to my goal.
For the rest of this month it will be 4 days heavy on the weights and 1-2 days of cardio at a progressive/regressive speed.
Alright, new pics will be posted on Sun…make it count!

my first session with Trainer Judy Wright after effects are still alive in my body! She’s polite, soft spoken but merciless. The simple act of removingmy bed sheets and pulling the shower curtain was painful, yet I derived some form of pleasure from knowing I dug my heels in and gave my best. I walked away realizing that besides needing someone to be in my face to push and challenge me, I need the accountability, someone who walks the walk and lives the lifestyle with an equally encouraging and challenging attitude and she has it. I now have a link that keeps track of my carbs, protein, fats and overall caloric intake - thanks to Judy, so I think this tool will help me a lot in monitoring my caloric intake on my LC days.
Alright, time to get some studying done. Stay the course!

After spending time contemplating if I really, really want to spend the time and money to pursue one of my life long dreams - to compete in a fitness competition I have decided it’s a resounding yes. I’m very pleased with the progress I’ve made to date, happy with my lifestyle and building my fitness business, but now it’s time to push this body a bit further to see how deep I can dig to get this body competition ready for March/2010.
I’ve decided to hire one of Vancouver best Judy Wright http://versus21.com/judy/ that is how serious I am. Game face on, mentally ready and jumping in with both feet. I know it’s going to be a new and different level of training, eating and sacrifice, but like I said game face on. I will be keeping this blog current on my progress. Remember it takes work, but it is so worth it…need to remember that a lot:)

I’ve never attempted yoga until 10 days ago and now I am hooked. I’ve decided to take a week off of working with free weights and attend to hot and power yoga classes, and must say that I am very pleased with the results.
I haven’t lost any muscle mass and the toned effect is way smoother. However with that said, I am having the itch today to hit the weights. Another hot yoga session tonight and tomorrow I’ll incorporate some weights into my workout.
My nutritonal plan is 110% compliant with 2 days of HC and 5 days of LC.
I’ll have some pictures uploaded by Monday.

Mastering the enemy within is key to winning any battle! I’ve learned that to win in life at anything goes beyond discipline, motivation, self talk etc. I have to first win the battle in my mind and once I have mastered my thought life, the goal reaching becomes attainable, touchable and a fricking reality. I’m not talking about easy here or things being handed to you…it’s about wanting it bad enough, it’s about digging deep, it’s about empowering your mind and pushing your body beyond the norm and surprising yourself. Tasting it? See it? Heck actually touching it? No the mind isn’t playing tricks on you…just telling you that you are ready to go get it, do it, get the job done. I’m defing the odds, and living in my best mind and body yet at 45 and loving every second of it, and I’m just getting started:)

After being involved many years in fitness and nutrition I came to the conclusion that if your mind isn’t in gear, your body isn’t going anywhere. When my mind is in gear the results are manifested quicker and are staying compared to a fly by night plan. Secondly having the right nutritional plan together is optimal to guarantee a success story. As the saying goes “your body is made in the kitchen” is so true. My goal is to get as lean as I can…if I can 10% Bf would be sweet, but I am a wonderful work in progress and i am patient. I want to be a fit and healthy 44 year old that will turn heads…both male and female of all age group and be an inspiration to many. I’m doing it and it can be done if you believe in yourself and make the temporary sacrifices necessary to get to your personal finish line.

One month after I kick started my “getting lean challenge” I’ve lost 1.5 inches off my waist and my pictures tell an approving tale. I’m doing it right and though every week tells a different tale, it is all about getting results that you are pleased with.
Last night I went out to dinner and had no sugar whatsoever and had a healthy falafel meal; then we went to a sports bar…my friends had a pint each and me? tall cold glass of water and didn’t feel left out or an ounce of temptation…sweet!
My workout for Nov month:
Upper - light to medium weights between 15-25 reps per set.
Lower - medium to heavy between 15-8 reps per set
Cardio 25-30 min per session and some days there will be double sessions.
Sit-ups 60×4 per side.
Nutrition:
Spinach/organic veggie jucing/squash/egges/e.white/chicken/turkey/protein powder/legumes/oatmeal/cream of wheat/tortillas/yeast free bread/plain yogurt/blue berries/hemp seeds and nuts.
That’s all I’ve been consuming since the middle of Oct and nothing else!
OK, this is it for now…later!

I’ve still been active, but not yet arrived at my goal. So beginning Nov 1st I’ll start to keep this blog current like the one I now use daily at blogger.com. because I’m more focused on my goal - reducing my waistline, and getting as lean as possible.

If you’re interested in knowing why I’ve been absent, do read my other blog! www.ucansodoit.blogspot.com
How did my 24 days without dessert and alcohol beverages go? I did fine until day 10, then folded for 2 days. However, I got back into the saddle and completed my stint. I did not feel that I’d mastered that discipline, but felt good that I did it.
I do plan on attempting this quest again in the near future!
The link below is one brutal hike and a friend approached me to do it with her once per week - I am always up for a challenge and said yes. I have done “the grind” before and know how tough it is…a love hate kinda relationship. So, within 2 weeks, we’ve tackled it twice and it is unlike any cardio that you will ever do - it is estimated that you burn approximately 1500-2500 calories when that hike is completed.
My first hike took me 1.25 mins and yesterdays’ took my 1.14:45sec…pretty good.
My goal is to eventually do it under 60 mins. Check out the link!

Besides that I have been doing some serious cardio to improve my endurance for that “grind” and working on strength training and sit-ups.
My eating has been pretty good, but noticed that I’ve not been consuming enough veggies this week…that will change from today:-)
At this time I’ve decided to take the rest of this month off and get myself mentally prepared for my next fitness journey which will commence Sept. 1st. I will share that closer to the start date!
Until next time…stay the course and do not quit!
