Dealing with the temptation
Sunday, April 6th, 2008There is no doubt that on a daily basis most of us are inundated with foods that are sure to derail anyone with a serious fitness goal. In my office the doughnuts, pastry, muffins, and other goodies are in my face at every meal. And our division is seriously "party happy." It’s always food, food, food for promotions, transfers, birthdays, heck - if someone stubs their toe they get a sympathy party!!! Everyone at this point pretty much knows my lifestyle in fitness (from the constant turn downs) of the endless line of food. Do I feel like an outcast? NOPE! Sure, I’m not going to lie, it’s DAMN HARD to not eat those delicious treats! And it’s annoying to hear people say "You’re too skinny!" or "Life is too short!" Life is too short to die young from corinary heart disease or high colesterol in my opinion… But heck, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love chocolate or pizza or cake! But a year ago, the turning point toward a healthy, fit lifestyle really took affect in my life. I’ve seen so many great changes in my health and body that I know I will never go back to unhealthy eating again. I strive everyday to be a better me and constantly set new goals and challenge myself. I know I’ll be up on that stage, proud to share it with other women who embrace strengh and fitness as a lifestyle. It’s a great feeling, a much better feeling than eating a piece of cheesecake!!
