Nasty rash, ooouch!
I wore my new a heart rate monitor this morning with cardio. The normal type with a chest band. I got pretty sweaty but forgot to take it off before i got home adn showered. (So I wore it an extra hour or so.) Then a couple hours later I got a red, burning rash with raised areas. it feels worse than heat rash, more like a reaction to something. ![]()
Has anyone ever reacted to a hear rate monitor before? It’s not the first time I’ve used one, though it has been a years.

I use a polar f11 heart rate monitor with every cardio session. I can not imagine my gym session without one, especially if you want to practice the art of HIIT.
What strap do you have. My heart rate monitor came with an elastic strap and plastic parts, so that helps with not irritating my skin (since I am allergic to non-gold or sliver metals). What kind of strap do you have? Also did you wet the sensors before you used it.
Do not give up on using a heart rate monitor because it is a vital part of being successful.
Let me know how it works out,
Helen
