Good news!
Friday, November 14th, 2008I finally had my orthopedic appointment this morning. I will not need surgery at this time but I will need about six weeks of physical therapy. I am allowed to resume cycling, walking and hiking at slow speeds. I can do adduction and abduction leg machine exercises only. No leg curls, glute kickbacks or leg presses until I get clearance in two months at my follow up. The doctor feels that my hamstring muscles are inflamed possibly from my own misuse of them. I have been very lax about stretching before strength training. I also have a slight hip dysplsia but nothing too severe to be concerned about. The tear in the hip socket is small and he won’t operate on it because it isn’t causing my main symptoms. I was supposed to go to the gym to do chest, back and abs but I hardly slept last night. I’m also going to be alot more careful in the future about working out fatigued or without a proper stretching session.
