Well, I obviously do not keep a good blog, oh well. Training has been good, have made some gains here and there, lost some gains here and there because of nagging injuries - basically just the same as always. I really need to pick a goal to train towards, I feel like I am just going about it but without the focus I really need. I have thought about a couple of different shows, started a couple of diets and then decided against it. I kind have a certain halloween outfit idea in mind that I would have to be pretty ripped for, so I am going to attempt an 8 week diet starting next week to work to that, we’ll see. Right now I am about 175ish, down from 190ish a month ago and setting at about 9.5% bodyfat, so I am at good point to get in shape within 8 weeks - I just have to stay focused. Take care everybody, later,

Well, a quick update. I am not doing the spring show I had planned on, I twice had the flu and spent pretty much 4 weeks straight sick and thereby lost my motivation to compete. I probably still had time to get ready but I did not want to have any worries, so I will probably wait till late summer or early fall to compete. So for now I am just lifting hard, I have actually been getting stronger at almost all of my lifts. My left pec has finally healed from the minor tear that I had so my pressing strength is pretty good for my standards again. Take care everybody,

Well, I give up on actually udating this regularly, I am just too lazy. Anyway, training has been good, my strength has been good when I have not been sick. While sick it really does ruin your stamina, but it is all coming back now. My deadlifts have been suffering lately because I have been training my legs a bit harder and more frequently, so I am not gettting the same recovery I did before, so I am just going a bit lighter and doing more reps for now. Other than that I have stayed the same or gotten a bit stronger at most things as I diet. Later everybody,

Did chest today, did the 100’s on incline db presses for the first time since straining my left pec, did 6 reps and it felt good - did not restrain, though I could feel where it happened. After that did inclines on the smith machine, pec dec, weighted dips and finished with pushups then cardio. Threw in some abs as well. Have I mentioned that I hate dieting? If not, there it is, I hate dieting. Later all,
Allen

Wow, kinda fell off the bandwagon of posting a log. Things have been ok, got sick with flu for a few days last week and that kind of derailed me a bit. Back on track now and feeling strong again. Today is officially 12 weeks to the show so it is time to get very serious now. Take care everybody,

Nothing big to report. Workouts are going good, still going as heavy as I can on most things for 6 reps or so, and adding in lots of drop sets and burn outs. The diet is entering it’s second week, so far so good. Used Sunday as a re-feed day and felt pretty strong today. Probably going to start tanning tomorrow just to get the base underway, and tanning really helps me stay on track with my dieting, they go hand and hand in my head. Later all,

Well, I would have posted all of this but the site has been running so slow that I have not had the patience. Tuesday I did back, good workout, it was early in the morning so deadlifting sucked - I am never strong in the morning at those. It was my basic back workout of deads, barbell rows, pulldowns, low rows, nothing special. Wednesday was legs. I promised to put the full workout in here, so here it is.
Squats - bar x 20, 95×10, 135×10, 185×10, 225×8, 275×6, 295×6+135×15
Leg press - 2 plates each side x 10, 4 each side x 10, 6 each side x 10, 8 each side x 6 - hip cramped at that point, dropped to 4 each side x 15
Smith machine lunges - 45 each side x 10 per leg, 55 each side x 8 per leg, 70 each side x 8 per leg
Walking lunges supersetted with seated leg curls - 30lb db’s x 30 steps + 245 x 15 for 3 sets with about 45 seconds between supersets
Leg extensions - 190×10, stack (265) x 8, stack x 12 + single legs with 90 until I could not stand it
3 sets of standing calf raises with the stack x 12 and that was it
Today was chest and shoulders again, and a little arms in the afternoon because I had time. Workouts were good, nothing to write home about, weights felt good, got a good pump at each workout. The chest workout was about 45 minutes and the arm about 30 minutes.
I have started cardio again as I am in the infancy of preparing for a show. Right now I am doing 15 or 20 minutes before breakfast and 20 minutes after weights. I hate cardio so I have to start slow and ramp it up as needed, if needed, I loose weight pretty easy.
Later all

Started with incline DB’s then incline barbells, seated cable press on the freemotion chest press, pec dec, cable fly’s, pushups. Also did shoulders in the form of supersetting side db raises, front barbell raises and rear db raises. Good workout, took all the exercises to 6 rep weights and then drop setted the last set on each one, even the shoulder supersets were done with drops on the last ones. Monday was also the first day of my serious diet phase for the show I am doing. I will have to start taking some progress pics and posting them up soon, or I had at least better take them for my own purposes. Take care everybody.

Having fun with a dedicated arm day again. It had been a couple of years since I had one until 4 or 5 weeks ago. It was weighted chins, barbell curls, hammer curls, db preacher curls, close grip benchpress, db french press, pushdowns and rope pushdowns. I would have done dips but I did them Thursday with chest. Everything was supersetted back and forth bic to tric with drops used at the end of everything. Good workout, good pump, just hope I can keep getting pumps once the carbs start going away in a few weeks, we will see.

Well, since my last post I have done everything, nothing astonishing, but I have not further injured anything so that is good It is strange how deadlifting can be so easy when you groove the weight and so hard when you get slightly off. The other day I went to 505 and pulled it easy so I go to 525 and get my hips slightly high had to set it down after only getting to my knees, so frustrating, oh well, next time. It has taken me forever to get back to those weights after switching from a sumo to a conventional stance, but at least I am there again even if I am not as consistent as I was before at completing them. Have a great one all,
Allen
