30 days down/173 to go…Running portion
I’m going to do two diary posts today because I’m afraid I’ll forget how everything went after my first day on the run program! It’s an 8 week learn to run a 10 k step-up training program.
I did the first day today, and I honestly didn’t think I was going to do as well as I did…day 1 is 7 sets of running for 5 mins, walking for two. I warmed up for 10 mins, did some light stretching then started running…After the first two rounds, I was so out of breath i skipped the next one…after the third round I honestly didn’t think I could finish a fourth because my left knee started to ache because I landed on my foot a little wrong and stumbled. But I told myself that if I could just do one more, I could do anything…and I did! Then I waited 5 mins and talked myself into starting a 5th, I was a min in and my right inner groin muscle started to feel strained, I told myself, that’s it…it’s over…but I rebutted with, ‘just try a little longer’ started watching my show, the next time I looked down I had a min left and I pushed through! Finished the rest of the 49 mins walking then cool’d down then stretched…Wow, I was soooo happy with myself…I was dripping with sweat and breathing heavy, my knee and groin muscle ached and I’m going to feel it tomorrow, especially after aquasizes tonight, but I did 5 of the 7 rounds!
I figure this week I’ll work on being able to do all 7 and start stepping up next week!
So, with a little more self-arguing…I’m starting to believe that I’ll be able to run a 10k…maybe it’ll take 12 weeks instead of 8, but I think it’s possible!
