We are proud of our client, Ken, he had a ACL operation on his kness just a few weeks ago.  He has worked up to leg pressing 405!!!  Way to work hard.

Thanks for all the nice comments about all the photos of me and my son, Steel (www.bodyspace.com/npcsteelworld), and my wife, Jan in this month’s issue of NPC News magazine.

I am sorry to say that our good friend Pat Moore passed away early last night. He was known as the silver fox. His wife, Jo Jo called last night about 12 o’clock, alone and very emotional, as we can all understand. She said that he had been in ICU and that his heart just stopped working. She said his doctor had only given him two years after the heart surgery, but Pat had made it nine years, so they were thankful for the extra time.  I only saw Pat once in all the years without Jo Jo and that was because she was sick. 

She did not know of any arrangement until Jeff (Pat’s son) gets there today from Atlanta. She thinks it might be Monday. I will e-mail again when I have the info.

Pat Moore is the one who helped give me a start in bodybuilding 14 years ago.  He was a great kind, gentle, and funny man.  We will miss him.  He judged NPC for over 17 years.  He judged our NPC Steel World Bodybuilding, Fitness, and Figure Championships just last year.  He was very dedicated to the sport as a former bodybuilder himself.  He always wore his bodybuilder gold chain around his neck.  Even in bad health you could see his thick chest. 
 

Our personal training and nutritional business has tripled this year compared to this time last year! I really enojoy all our clients. We have got some great people as clients.  Thank you all.   

It was great to see everyone today at Babb Fitness in Fairhope.  Jimmy has a great place with good clients.  He is a really good trainer.  He will be competing in the Steel World Show in May in Mobile in the Open division. Meet Lisa Pinkhim that will be doing the womens bodybuilding.  We had about 22 people attend.  It was great to meet Mike, Zach, Melaine, Wanda, Derek, JB (teen div), Roland, Joanna, Franky & Janet, Terry Long, May Story, Brenda Hobagh , Lenka Feeken (you will tighten that skin), Aimee, Aaron, and Heather

Our NPC Steel World athletes not only do they want to win a title, but they
want to have a fun, positive experience as well.  We are geared toward assisting 
a positive side of the show as well as photographs of not only the winners in each class, but of athletes enjoying themselves and the
competition experience.  If a show looks like fun, the athletes are more likely to compete.   
 
A very small percentage of athletes ever win a show or their class.  Every NPC athlete should have the
opportunity to possibly see him or herself in print, whether they win their division or not.  This will enhance
their longevity and satisfaction in the sport.  So .As an IFBB Pro, I subscribe to all of the major magazines, not
necessarily to read the articles, but to see if I may catch a glimpse of myself on stage or backstage at a
show in which I compete.  Since local and regional NPC shows are generally not covered in the National
magazines, Southern Muscle Plus is the only venue in which the athletes in the Southeast can get a glimpse
of their hard work and effort.
 
Since beginning to showcase not only the winners of the shows, but other athletes as well, our subscriptions
have skyrocketed.  This is a very positive sign that the athletes like the changes, and look forward to reading
the NPC show coverage.
