Updated Progress

Monday, December 29th, 2008

When I was about 18 years old, I weighed like 170 pounds and worked my way up to 198 pounds with little or no body fat. I did not really lift weights at a gym but at home. I had a barbell that could carry about 120 pounds of weight and that is all that I used or needed at the time. I would first bench press my bar with 120 pounds, did squats next, skull crushers, dead lifts, curls, lunges, mil. press, upright rows, shoulder shrugs and then I would be done with my workout. 15 reps and five sets with 1 minute resting time between sets, three times a week. I also jogged at six in the morning or ran in place when winter came. Over the years, I got into a difficult relationship that was more like a on and off relationship for like four years. I had a hard time during those years. At the break of our last relationship, I was on anti-depressants that made me gain a insane amount of weight (240 pounds) and to boot I was not working out anymore. I am starting all over again with all the training from the bottom up. I last weighed myself yesterday at 201.1 pounds and am working my way back to 198 pounds but I have some bodyfat to get rid of. Starting all over again is hard but I know that in the end it will be well worth it.

I have noticed that on days when I am at peace with myself, I can work out really well without worrying if the workout is benificial or not. I still get a great work out and I know that taking my time is benifiting me. On days when I am not at peace with myself and I am just angry, I can work out just as hard but I am not careful with my reps. I can work out for long periods of time, I realized that when I do that, I am sore and lazy on the next day that I am sapposed to work out. I have learned that as I am preparing for a work out, that a little meditation before I work out and a short breathing exercize helps me out alot and keeps me focused.

Progress 12-10-08

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

I have not worked out since 11-25-08, I was having flu like symptoms since that day but now that I am feeling a whole lot better I am going to try to get back on track as quickly as I can. My work out was hard today because I think that I might have to wake up the muscles that I lost while I was sick. I lost about 8 pounds while I was sick and that kinda makes me worry about my health. I know that I wil come across more bumps along the way just like getting sick, but I have to just keep on going. I did ten reps and two sets of everything today because I was tired by the time I got on my third set. I geuss that I have to remember that this is kinda like day one for me again.
