Bulking -Week 1 of 12

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

I feel………happy……strong……..energe
tic…….vascular…….fulfilled…..

Wow, I love the carbs! Did not kick in until the last few days of the week, but I have a renewed vigor in the gym. I am feeling a little bloated from eating more food. I was not very disciplined on the diet, but it was by choice. I needed a break after cutting so long. Back to clean fuel tomorrow.

This weeks goal is to kick up the intensity in the gym and squeeze every ounce I can out of EVERY workout.

Keto (End of week 4) Done and Done!

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

Well I have completed my 4 week keto. I lost approx. 14 pounds in 4 weeks and I am approx 16.5% bodyfat. I feel better. My clothes fit better. I am appier overall. BUT I STILL DO NOT LOOK GOOD NAKED! :/ I really thought I would look better than i do at this bf% and weight. I took photos today and I am actually discouraged and de-motivated. The only pic I am somewhat happy with is my calves.

I am burned out of cutting. My brother and I successfully did a 12 week cutting cycle and I dropped approx 30 pounds. Since I started last July I have lost a total of 61 pounds so I am hapy with that progress, but again i do not look as good as i thought I would at 16.5% bf and 239 Lbs.

Tomorrow I get to start bulking up. Gonna keep eating clean, just increase the calories and the carbs a bit. I am looking forward to lifting heavier and having more energy in the gym. My plan is to ignore my lack of enthusiasm with my current stats and just focus on the new program.
I have also started cutting the crap out of my supplement resume’. I am tired of spending money on products that have study after study to back up their claims but do not seem to help me. I might post some pics showing where I am at now.

Keto (End of Week 3)

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

Lost a couple more pounds. Down to 239 Lbs. I have not seen the thirty mark in 10 years. I am curious to know what my bf% is but I do not trust the calipers. I will try to take a measurement today. I have no energy and my workouts are suffering. I am glad this is the final week. I would like to see 235, but more importantly I want to see some new line of definition or the hint of the second row of abs poking thru.

Keto- End of Week 1

Sunday, February 1st, 2009

Wow! Totally zapped of energy. Makes you appreciate carbs. I lost 3-4 pounds and maybe down a belt hole. Today is the first day I feel decent. I usually hit a wall mid afternoon. We will see by the end of today though. This diet is easier than before probably due to the lack of choices.

Week 4

Monday, January 26th, 2009

Completed week 4 and lost another pound. I think I am burned out on this diet. Wit the help of my brother and on his advice i am going to try a 4 week low carb plan to mix things up. I am hoping for 5 lbs a week loss for a total of 20 lbs. That will put me at 233 Lbs which I have not been at in 10 years and have NEVER been at with this much muscle. The plan is based on Campbells Keto contest diet plan

Week Two

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

This phase is a little tougher than last. I think it is a combination of not having my brother doing it with me…….he successfully completed his cut, consequently looking amazing and is now on to bulking, and he other is cutting is getting old after 10 weeks. I stayed on track a total of 3 1/2 days last week. Very disappointing and hardly worthy of saying i am cutting at all after the crap I ate. Lost 1 Lb, but I feel like i am losing muscle as well. :/

Week One

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Well I managed to get back on track a week later than planned. Temptation and a back injury later but here i am. One interesting observation. I am back to the weight i was at after the first 8 week cutting phase, 255 lbs. But my wife and I agree that I am not the same as I was in the mid section. A little flabbier… :/ Anyway, here are this weeks averages.

Low carb days (Goal Cal=3060, Prot=382.5g, carbs=153g, fat=102g)

Ave: Cal=2428, Prot=344, carbs=130, fat=53

High carb days (Goal Cal=3060, prot=382.5g, carbs=306g, fat=34g)

8 Week cutting phase (Round 2)

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

I have decided to continue the cutting phase. The first 8 weeks I lost 19 pounds, 3 inches on my waistline and dropped a pant size. I went from 273 to 254 pounds. I want to see my abs and see more definition. I will allow myself one cheat meal a week. I am starting out with 12 calories per pound of bodyweight and will alternate days of protein-carbs-fat between 50-40-10 and 50-20-30 %.

Low Carb Day                        High Carb Day

Cal= 3060                               Cal= 3060

Protein=382.5g                        Protein= 382.5g

Carbs= 153g                           Carbs=306g

Fat=102g                                Fat=34g

Goal: 229 Lbs and 10% BF by March 8, 2009
