Being a ’somebody”…
A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, “Who would like this $20 bill?” Hands started going up.
He said, “I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this.” He proceeded to crumple the $20 dollar bill up. He then asked, “Who still wants it?” Still the hands were up in the air. “Well”, he replied, “What if I do this?” And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. “Now who still wants it?” Still the hands went into the air. “My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson”, he said, “No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20.
Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless…. and especially to those who love you.
The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or whom we know, but by WHO WE ARE.

This works from both ways. We are who we are when we are on top or on bottom. So we stay humble when all goes well and optimistic when all goes poorly.

Cool story….I went to a seminar and they did some thing similar.
Instead, they made everyone bring a $100 bill on the second day (2 day seminar/conference with about 500 in attendance). Then at one point during the seminar, they dimmed the lights and told everyone to pull out the $100 bill they brought. They then rolled out huge buckets with water in them and had assistants with candles similar to the ones you see in church (3 to a stem).
The main person then said for all of us to line up…..because we’re now going to burn the $100 bills. Everyone was shocked and you could see the fear on everyone’s face. We then started our lines up to the front to burn our money and when the first person was about to get their bill set on fire, the lights turned back on and they said this was just a test and a lesson.
The lesson was that you shouldn’t fear losing money and if you are so fearful of losing money, you’ll never make any. Basically the Law of Attraction…..if you keep thinking about the fear of losing money, you’ll continue to attract that energy.
The second lesson was that many people forgot their $100 bills and actually let others borrow extra $100 bills that they had in their wallets. Those people were praised because they were willing to let others use THEIR money to learn the lesson. Those were the ones that especially didn’t fear loss.
