My Motivation to Lift….The Rush

When I walk into the gym, I come alive.The enthusiasm of the ‘rush’that awaits me pounds away in my heart. As I near the rack of dumbells, my heart beats faster. I am ‘home’.

I start to lift, one rep……beat, 2reps beat beat….7 reps, blood is pumping, cheeks go red, 3 more reps to the ultimate climax, last rep and man I feel like I’m on fire - I live for this burn, images are always flashing in my mind - I love ‘this iron’. I own it, I will conquer it, I will leave it and move on to better. This exhilarating euphoric rush will never end because I will always get to move onto better and I will always conquer.

Next set of orgasmic lifting pleasure…….baited braethe…anxious and I’m getting even more pumped to feel the energy soaring through my body, blood racing to my veins, sweat clinging onto every piece of cloth that adorns me - each rep taking me closer to my destiny - which is ‘me and my iron’- we are one, it pleasures me and make no mistake, I pleasure it too - it wants to be lifted - it cries to me even as I make my exit.

I dont want to leave……I want to stay in ‘my home’forever but I have to tear myself away - all good things come to those whom are patient. I will be back for you iron, I may not lift éxactly’ you again as I may have to move on but I will always remember you as helping me get one step closer to my aspirations.

 Lifting is about change…….life is about change…….embrace them both.

New Programme today!

I started a new programme today, using the 5×5 system, needed to shake things up a little, my back is a bit sore, so I did bi’s and tris’s today and will do back on thursday.

Warmed up with 2 sets of 7 pull ups - getting stonger here.

Barbell curls……………23kgs x 5reps x 5 sets

seated incline dumbell curls…………………..10kgs x 5 reps x 5 sets

standing dumbell curls……………………11kgs x 2 sets x 5reps, 12kgs x 3 sets x 5 reps.

preacher barbell curls…………………….20kgs x 4 sets x 5 reps, x 1set x 4reps.

tricep cable pushdowns………………….40kgs x 6 sets x 5 reps

rope pull downs…………………….30kgs x 5 sets x 5 reps

overhead extension dumbell on bench lying flat on back………………….16kgs x 5 sets x 5 reps.

skull crushers………………………15kgs x 5 reps x 5 sets.

standing calf raises……………………..50kgs x 3 sets x 30 reps(10in,10out,10straight continous) - real girly attempt here, could have done more weight, wasnt burning like death.

I hade a good workout, will maybe do this sytem for 2 or 3 weeks, I’m hoping to increase my weights, see some good ab development happening, will do more progress pics soon. I went to a bodybuilding show on Saturday eve, well it was awesome and inspirational, everyone looked magnificent. I really respect the dedication it takes to build muscle and then strip your clothes off, get on stage and let everyone else crit you, these guys are real hero’s, most of us are too coward to even try. So next time you’re at a show, remember thats its easy to crit but so very hard to get up there and bare it all, support, cheer and encourage…..they need that.

Why men should lift…….a womens perspective.

1. Because women enjoy the hard aspect of men and not soft, flabby and out of breathe.

2. God designated man the head of the home, so lead by example and give your family something honourable to follow.

3. Men get cellulite too and we dont want to compete  for service at the cosmetic counter.

4. We like our men smart and with a great heart, not one prone to heart attacks. Smart alone is not good enough any longer, there are too many smart muscle bound and caring  men walking around these days which means we can ultimately have our pick.

5. Because women rule the world and we say we want you to have some good muscle..best you obey. Can you hear that whip?

6. Every boy needs a superhero for a dad………its just innate, you dont have to look like Arnold but atleast be able to swing the star around without throwing your back.

7. We women like to be pleasured in more ways than one……..use your imagination and your biceps if you have to.

8. Women are on a mission to be sexily strong, best you keep up.

9. We want you to lead long healthy lives so that you can continue serving our every whim.

10. A man with with lean muscle is just so sexy……you can stand out in any crowd.

11. We are proud to be with the men we choose………nurture that and you’ll have ever lasting respect.

12. You were born to be the hunter gatherer, you cant do this with your remote stuck to your hand and couch to your behind.

13. Muscle building releases more testosterone and endorphins……………just imagine how much fun you are going to have if you ‘bring that’.

Great new shoulder exercises…….

I did a few new shoulder exercises today and it felt really great, I definately felt stronger on my shoulders today than ever, maybe its being back on my Size On.So heres my workout………

Military Press………………….12kgs x 20 reps, 15kgs x 10 reps x 3 sets.

front raises…………………..6kgs dumbells each x 2 sets x 12 reps, 7kgs x 2 sets x 10 reps.

bent over raises lying flat on chest on bench………………..6kgs dumbells each x 3 sets x 10 reps.

dumbell shoulder press…………………..8kgs each  x 12reps, 9kgs x 3 sets x 10reps.

front raises…………………….12kgs x 3 sets x 10reps.

upright rows on cables with rope attachment………………….35kgs x 3 sets x 10reps

cable arnold press………………………………25k
gs x 3 sets x 10 reps x one arm at a time (this was a new one for me but it felt really great for isolating the shoulder and my shoulders are really sore right now.

calves………………………..50kgs x 3 sets x 30 reps (10 in, 10 out, 10 straight- no break ) A blog friend jdang416 gave me this one - so thank you and may I throttle you too!)

So I had a great workout,all pain and glory, loving theburn, living to lift, cant live without, sucker for soreness, smile on the face always though……..thats me!

Why women should lift………..part 2

  1. Say good-bye to cellulite, you can never get the same effect out of a jar.
  2. Osteoporosis affects more women than men, your best defence is to increase muscle mass therefore strengthening your bones.
  3. Behind every great man is a woman; someone has to hold them up.
  4. Lifting releases some serious endorphins and one happy woman is all the world needs to turn.
  5. So we can inspire each other to be even better cause nothing beats a strong sisterhood.
  6. Self-preservation babe.
  7. Barbie is so done……she’s a portion of protein on my plate.
  8. Imagine a bug and then a huge dumbbell comes down and crushes every part of it, blood and guts all over, dead, died gone. LIFTING DOES THIS WITH INSECURITIES.
  9. If you have no booty then squats can over you a selection on a platter…your choice.
  10. If you have too much booty, then lunges can offer you the moulding and trimming on platter…….your choice too.
  11. Cause chicken wings should be on a forbidden foods list and not on your precious arms.
  12. After child birth, lifting can give you your body as a prize, for your accomplishment of bringing a human being into the world… so claim your prize.

13. So future generations of women can be proud of where they came from and raise the bar even higher or load the barbell even  more….whatever the case!

Yeah I love biceps, dream about them, just utterly love them, want them badly, badly.

Barbell Curls…………………..12kgs x 20 reps, 20kgs x 3 sets x 10 reps, 23 kgs x 2 sets x 6 reps.

Seated Dumbell Curls……………………….8kgs x 10reps, 9kgs x 2 sets x 10 reps.

Seated incline hammer curls……………….8kgs x 3 sets x 10reps

Standing Dumbell Curls………………………….11kgs each x 3 sets x 10 reps. 

standing preacher curls………………………….12kgs x 10reps, 15kgs x 2 sets x 10 reps

Triceps

Tried a new exercise exactly like a barbell press, except not on a bench, lying on floor so arms cant extend beyond that, closer grip, palms facing in supersetted with skull crushers.

3 sets of 12kgs tricep press supersetted with skull crushers 12kgs

rope pull downs ………………..20kgs x 3 sets x 12 reps

behind the head rope pull………….20kgs x 3 sets x 12 reps

bench dips ………………10kg plate on lap, 3 sets of 20 reps

seated calf raises……………45kgs x 3 sets x 15 reps

I really enjoyed this workout, I’d like to do this twice a week but then some other body part gets neglected and that means training 7 days per week, not so hot, body needs recovery time. I am so excited, tomorrow I am going to watch a body building competition, its my first and I cant wait to see them on stage!

My heart is my strongest muscle and I want to use this muscle to bring as much joy into the lives of others as I have in my own. Have a wonderful happy day - its a choice, make it.

1. God made man first, his rough copy, then he made woman and that friends,  is his masterpiece, so you have to take care of his masterpiece.

2. Cardio helps the fatloss but keeps the same shape where as weights can mould your bodies shape to exactly what you want.

3. Muscle speeds up your metabolism, so yeah you can eat more…yum.

4. Muscle forces you to have better posture, so when you enter a room, you can own it. It is also a natural ‘body’lift, yeah, we take no sag.

5. Strength is a natural confidence builder and a natural deterrent to any criminal.

6. If you can master the discipline to weight train and get results then you can use that discipline in all areas of your life…….family and career.

7. Because the era of the waif is so over and strength ROCKS!!!

8. Strength and muscle is  as sexy as sexy gets.

9. You can be a better mom, whisk those kids up in a flash and give em some love.

10. Children need healthy role models in women, take care of health and clean eating and they will follow suit.

11. God chose us to bring mankind into the world, if we can push those huge babies out of tiny opening’s then we can lift the iron………..REAL WOMEN LIFT.

12. We dont need superman to save us, we can lend him a hand and enjoy the flight too.

13. Lifting makes your sex life so much better, not just your bi’s getter tighter.

14. Who needs stress, when you can lift feel like ‘Melinda urban jungle conquerer’!

15. Lastly I’m not a suffragette, but I think that gone are the days when you need a man to tell you that you are sexy to truly feel it, empowering yourself to live a fabulous life is where sexy was born. Men dont need to constantly save us, we need their chivilary but we can also help them build legacies and empires, so get on board for the ride ladies, on top is where we’re best!!

 So heres my workout for today:- LEGS

Body weight squats x 40 reps.

barbell squat……………………3 sets of 40kgs x 11 reps

leg press………….3 sets of 80kgs x 15reps, 1×100kgsx15reps, 1×120kgs x 15reps.

Hack Squats………..3 sets x 15 reps of 45kgs

walking lunges………….5sets x 20kgs x 28 steps each.

lying leg curl………….2sets x 10reps x 20kgs, 1×8reps x20kgs

standing calf raises……3 sets of 20reps x 40kgs.

I could barely do the calf raises, my legs were trembling so bad, this was a really tough workout, I didnt have my training partner with and I always do more on those days. Someone asked me if I was trying to commit suicide in the gym today, but hey whats wrong with giving 200% if you can! My life is my party and I’ll celebrate the way I want to!

You must sacrifice laziness, pain avoidance, and pleasure seeking to develop the pain tolerance for hard work. Hard work helps ensure that your sustained efforts will lead you in the direction of achievement. Realistically, you must battle against fear, apathy and pain avoidance to defeat your worst enemy - most likely yourself. Your mind is the strongest "muscle" in your body. If you believe the molly coddling bromides such as "Don’t strain yourself", "You can’t do this", and "Pain isn’t good", you’ll be imprisoned by your fears as long as they remain unconscious and unchallenged, The choice is yours: Be guided by your fears of be self directed by your own free will. If you’re intimidated by the thought of adding more weight to the bar when you can if fact safely handle it, you aren’t tapping into your true physical potential. Now is the time to reconsidered your options. Remember, to defeat your fears, you must face them with the conviction and courage that you’ll ultimately succeed
