Sunday, February 24th

Had a superb lower body session today… my rear and legs are still tingling… I owned the Smith machine… too much fun… SUPAPUMP definitely helped me pull through… I didn’t want to stop, but alas…. I closed the gym… 6pm on sundays… not cool I was on roll… I mean I had already been there 2 hours but I could have rolled right along… -725 for the gym session, plan on doing 3-4 miles on the treadmill in a bit to make it a complete day…

Just finished the day with a 3 mile run… yay.. feeling great -430… time to hit the shower and call it a night!

Total caloric burnage for the day: -1155

Monday, February 25th

The official day of rest… followed leg day… I like to ruin myself on leg day, hence the need to rest on the day following…

Tuesday, February 26th

Today was cardio only… still feeling it in the legs… calves especially which is weird because I rarely feel it there… anyhoo… I had a crazy day at the hospital from 7am-5pm running around like a headless chicken all the live long day… and lifting some heavy patients… boy oh boy… so my feet and back were killing me…. but I followed up with an "actual" workout… 4.5 mile run on the treadmill (-625)… wish I could have done more today though!

Total: a mere -625 calories…. not so great

Wednesday, February 27th

I rocked out today on my treadmill… 7.16 miles baby! I kept good pace too for not having gone that long in quite some time… YAY… feeling great! Would like to do maybe a triathlon or 1/2 marathon sometime this summer which I think would be great… definitely chomping at the bit to get to the gym and lift though.. but I gotta go hit the shower up and catch a quick 4 hours of sleep before the day starts all over again…blah!

Total: -930 calories… great run!

Well, I have 12 weeks left of my spring semester so I thought that it might be good to use as a countdown to track my progress until the summer… Here it goes

Sunday, February 17th

AM Cardio: 4.5 miles on my lovely treadmill… I am loving this by the way! It makes my life a little easier to manage… I love cardio too, so that’s a plus… eventually I’d like to get ready for a triathlon… maybe the end of this summer…. we’ll see… -625

Lower body session for 1.5 hours… so great… I love leg days -625

(P.S. I am such a dork but I will work out until I burn a nice easy amount of calories to add… makes life simpler lol)

Maybe another quick cardio session later… depends on how quickly I can get my research done for school….. hmmm…

Well, the second cardio sessions didn’t happen but I am going to get in some sleep tonight so that is good in my book… much needed shut eye…. so the total for today way 1250 calories burned… not too shabby.

Monday, February 18th

Today was super crazy! Yikes…. I made it to yoga which was great…. I SO needed those backbends and bridges… feeling so mych better…. heading to the basement to do some cardio today… nothing too crazy though my legs and glutes are KILLING me… such a great feeling… I worked them so good yesterday so that makes me happy, but I don’t want to take the day off… so a touch of cardio it is…

I was only planning on doing a slow 2 miles because my legs are devasted from yesterday, but I somehow managed to push out just over 3…. yay… so today with my yoga I burned off roughly 575 calories… not the greatest but today was somewhat of a "rest" day….

Tuesday, February 19th

Was my official day of rest… thankfully b/c my bottom was still sore (laugh it up Marmo!) But still did a little run -300ish

Wednesday, February 20th

Well, started the day of swell at 3:45 am with a run on the treadmill to rev my engine for the day lol… -300… Just getting home from school now at 8pm and have lots of work to do so my plans for arm at the gym are shot but I am gonna head down to the basement to make today useful cardio-wise… hopefully 4-5 miles… I am so tired though… I am not good about getting sleep… too much to do and so little time!!

Just busted out 4.4 miles (-610) so that’s good… now mountains of work ahead of me until the wee hours of the morning…sigh… Total = -910 calories for the day I can do so much better than that though… grrrr..

Thursday, February 21st

So I finally had time to make it to the gym to lift! YAY! oh supa pump how I have missed thee! I did 15 minutes on the arc trainer and did upper body… burned 585calories… would have liked to stay longer but the gym closed on me… not cool! I want a 24 hour fitness near me lol… would have liked to have burned more calories but I have been doing mostly cardio this week so I layed off… tomorrow will be great though… yay FRIDAY… am cardio… pm cardio… and I think I will do abs/back/shoulder …. so double cardio and lifting… saturday and sunday I can have good workouts too so that will makeup for my so-so week of mostly cardio… although my legs are only now feeling recovered from my leg day… I love leg day:)

Friday, February 22nd

Well, talk about a completely shot day… I fought my way home from Boston through the snowstorm and pretty much crashed when I got home at 7pm…. slept in until 11am too! I can’t even remember the last time I have slept past 830! I know I was running on empty for the week but still wanted to get something in

Saturday, February 23rd

Now that I am all rested from my hibernation mode last night I started the day off with 3.3 miles on the treadmill (-455) and plan to do another cardio session and intense abs and perhaps some back stuff for good measure

Today was a good day I was able to get to the gym and hit up the abs and a little back (-255)… wish I got there earlier than I did though because is closed on me … arghh.. i close down the gym better then a drunk closing down the bars lol… anyways headed home and did 3.5 mile run (-525) … yay… feeling great! Total for the day is 1235 calories burned… I’ll take it!

So all and all I will chalk this week up as a success in my book… I wish I could have lifted more but given how crazy I was with school I am very happy that I managed to get in all those 330am cardio sessions and follow them up with late night one’s (we’re talking oh say midnight runs) haha i am a lunatic! and had a great leg session, upper body, and today abs and back… I managed to squeeze in as much as I could which is all I can ask for really… the total calories burned for this week was 4855 which could have been alot higher, but again given the crazy week I will take it

Wow… things have been a whirlwind since classes started back up for me…. I have been doing pretty well considering though trying to juggle my workouts into the mix… I have definitley not been doing well in the sleep department however… only 2-3 hours a night… which is NOT good… so I am really working on trying to get that up to 5-6 hours….

I bought a treadmill which is exciting! I am so pumped and loving it! This definitely makes my life so much easier trying to fit cardio in when I can… it is hard for me to get to the gym everyday now since I leave my house at 430am and don’t get home until around 7pm and then there is studying and more studying until the wee hours of the morning… hence my severe sleep deprivation… anyhoo… having my treadmill has been amazing because now I can save 40 minutes by not having to drive to and from the gym…

I have been getting up around 330 to get in a 3 mile run before school and then doing another 3-4 miles at night before I go to bed (more like take a nap)… I have only been lifting 3-4 days a week now… which upsets me… but c’est la vie… I’m getting there… things have been slow going but I am feeling so much better and strong overall which is always a good thing…

Saturday Feb 16th

AM cardio: 4 miles and cool down (45 minutes) -525 calories

Afternoon Cardio: Quick little mile and half just cause… -175

Somebody sound the alarm!!

Haha… no… but seriously… I have had a great week of workouts despite the fact that school started back up full throttle… no sleep… only 3 hours a night… but working out so consistently definitely keeps me energized… which I need… grad school…. woe is me lol…

I haven’t taken any progress pics yet…. I really need to! I have my first digital camera that I have all figured out… at least I think I do… so I have to get on that… I can definitely notice my strength increasing and my muscles are already showing more and are more toned so that has me super excited… just gotta keep my cardio up still to really stay in jumpstart mode… anyhoo….

I am so sore too in my glutes and hamstrings… soooo good. YAY! I’ve burned about 3600 calories in just the past 3 days! double YAY! But on a side note… I am loving my SUPA PUMP as I like to call it… not so crazy about the orange flavor but what can ya do… I am only taking 1 rounded scoop and can feel a difference… I don’t know if I could handle more that 1 1/2 scoops at a time… i might spontaneously combust! also… took it before my yoga class one day because I did an hour of cardio and an hour of lifting right afterwards… not sure if that was the best idea… I felt a little dizzy and thought I was gonna actuallly start floating away or something.. kinda weird… that’s all for now… gotta do a little studying before I hit the sack… yes on a Friday night… blah…. like I said… grad school…. 2 1/2 years to go!!

January 8, 2008:

Today was absolutely gorgeous outside… sunny and 67! That crazy New England weather will do that to you though… it was such a tease because soon enough it will be back to the frigid temperatures… which I can’t say I mind, I like hot summers and cold winters.

I had another great day today with super clean eats and lots of activity. I did two 1 hour yoga classes… the instructor has seen me at every class this week and was like "back for more? you just can’t get enough can you?" I just smiled but was really thinking that I am going to get my money’s worth for the extra ‘mimd/body’ pass that I had to buy for $60 in addition to my gym membership to go to these classes… they are gonna be sick of seeing me by the time I am though with them… and hopefully I will be loose and limber to boot! I use to be a competitive gymnast… back in the day… haha… like oh, 12 years ago LOL… but anyhoo… I almost have my spilts back! CRAZY… haven’t been able to bust those out since I was knee high to a grasshopper…. but I digress…

So I did 2 hours of yoga today, 35 minutes of cardio on the ARC trainer with high elevation and high resistance, and followed it up with more lower body work (even though I did some lower body stuff yesterday I want to save my upper body weight work for tomorrow when I can really put a lot of time and focus into it)… so I completely destroyed the leg press machine with 5 sets of 12 reps at 200 lbs then using one leg only 3 sets of 12 reps at 75 lbs on each leg… I don’t know if it was the one scoop of the SUPA PUMP talking but I was feeling pretty good and thought why stop there? So I also did the glute kickback machine and maxed out the weight at 140 lbs and did 3 sets of 12 on each leg…. (side note… I have never maxed out the weights on a machine… I wanted more too lol… SUPA PUMP??? maybe? I dunno?) Then still feeling ready to conquer the world I did prone hamstring curls 3 sets of 12 at decreasing weights, but I was definitely rocking out more than I thought I could have… so hopefully I will feel it in my walk tomorrow… I like looking crippled the next day… it makes me very proud Overall I burned 1143 calories… not too shabby ( I heart my heart rate monitor!)

Time to go refeul G’night!

January 7, 2008:

I’d like to try and keep up with this blog to kind of talk myself through this so called "journey" to becoming the fittest me I’ve ever been. I can’t say how great this website is for motivation and for keeping spirits up. I’ve learned so much already and am looking forward to learning so much more.

I am pretty tuckered out right now, so I will keep this one short and sweet… I got myself some of the mysterious Superpump 250 which I like to pronounce SUPA-PUMP because it makes it so much more fun… I got the Orange flavor and it was pretty good… I started today with only 3/4 of a scoop to see how I handle it and whatnot… I can’t say I felt supercharged from that amount but it did seem to wake me up and get me rearin’ to go… so that’s a plus!

Today I did 40 minutes on the Arc Trainer with high elevation and resistance… the sweat was a-drippin’! I wanted to do an hour of cardio but I ran out of time before my yoga class… I just started taking yoga at my gym and I have to say once I "allowed" myself to really just get into it that I find it a great way to relax and it really forces me to get some quality stretching time in… I’ve already noticed an increase in my overall flexibility.

So then I did my hour yoga class and returned to the weight room to do some lower body work… I kept it short because I had an intense day yesterday and it was aroun 9pm already so I was getting a little tired… although I think the SUPA PUMP kept me nicely enthused… So I just did some simple machine stuff with fairly high weights: adduction, abduction, seated ham curls, and quad extension… I also did some glute exercises on the mat after… like I said nothing too crazy.

All this jazz burned 1039 calories, so that’s good… I was at the gym for pretty much the entire night LOL so I am glad it amounted to something…

I also had super clean eating today so overall we can chalk today up as a SUCCESS… YAY!

Time to go sleepy nice
