Go hard or go home right? haha
Wrestling season has started! We are past our first week of practice which is proving to be far more painful than last year. I am in the heavyweight class, with the limit being 285 and under. I weigh approx. 295lbs right now. I love bodybuilding, it has helped me so much and is a great lifestyle/sport. Since wrestling started I have stopped the weights and all gym-related stuff though. I got off creatine also to help cut some of the weight. our first match is December 9th, at home. I have to be under the weight limit. I was thinking of a plan to lean down and basically transform my body throughout the season. Hopefully it sounds as good on paper as in my head. More important than how it sounds, is how it WORKS.
I have been thinking of a way to lift to build muscle, and use wrestling as my cardio to help cut fat. I attend the highschool for one class (Fire fighting!
) and one sport. Other than that I’m homeschooled, but I still can catch the bus in and stay there all day. This opens up an hour in the morning to walk to the gym and lift in the AM. I figure an hour is good, more I’d die and less I wouldn’t get my fix. lol Then I go to class, then homework, then wrestling for my PM cardio. That would be my typical day. Supplements…. I have been looking into VPX’s Meltdown. It really seems to be a good product. My other supplements would be casein and whey protein, and eventually maybe creatine again. Maybe some new stuff like Glutamine, ect. A decent diet too of course. I’m wondering if I would be capable of maintaining a plan like this throughout the season; More importantly, would it be worth it or would I be burning myself out before matches? Would I end up burning muscle because I’m overtraining? Or would it change me into the Freak of Nature I want to be? Right now, my biggest limitations are money and time. I think I can plan out the timing. Money’s tight, what’s new…lol
I know I want to bodybuild, there is not a single doubt in my mind, whatsoever. I want to wrestle, and I’m expected to; I don’t mind that because I enjoy it and I want to do well. I need to do well in school. I’m 3.5-4.0 and won’t accept lower. Balance will be key.
Keep ya posted…. -Kodiak-

Good luck Kodiak! You look like you have a big advantage over all of the super heavyweights from when I was wrestling in High School. They all used to be supers because they were just fat as hell lol.
Good idea to cut creatine to drop some water weight for the season. It doesn’t sound like you have that far to go especially once you cut the creatine. Goodluck!
