bb curls - warmup, four more sets, maxed at 90 lbs. Need a spotter to reach 100 lbs.
hammer curls — three sets, maxed at 40 lbs.
rev curls — four sets, maxed at 50.
Standing high cable curls - three sets at level 5
Not a lot of reps, but intensity hit 9 - 10.
Nothing encouraging here. Strenght is down after time off. Need to look for a spotter.
Balance — took time from gym to drive Em to band practise. Some time with Brett, but not enough with either. Soul-work was limited, too. Socializing was up–birthday party. That translates to sugar, and plenty of it!!
Spent Sat with my shirt off cleaning the pool–sunburnt and too much bf exposed!
Still gulping down a gallon/day of water.

Slept later than usual this am, so I didn’t eat before w/o. Rains coming so I wanted to w/o and get back to some yard work before I was forced inside. NOT good. Lasted about 40 minutes and with the intensity, I suppose, I became nauseous. Won’t try that again.
Deadlifts: warm up set of one, then four maxed to 235.
Leg presses: warm up set at 170, then three maxed at 255.
Some upright rows and 10 minutes on cardio.
Turn 47 today.

Tired this am. Alarm off at 4:30, but Navigators went late last night AND because took an extra moment to talk with Brett, I didn’t remember that I had placed my Bible on the top of my trunk. Drove off with it there. It jammed in the fin. When I got to Pastor’s I was COMPLETELY off my focus. It was like losing a wedding band, or a kid, or an oxygen tank. After about 30 minutes of looking lost, Greg sent me off to track it down. FOUND IT. On the side of a busy road. Only a broken spine.
BB flat and incline presses. Cable flyes. Bridges for my abs. Stairclimbing for some cardio. Minimal time; maximum effort.

Forgive me for breaking copyright here. This is a new image for me to see, sent by one of my brothers. I’m not military. I can’t begin to appreciate the mindset of those who serve in the way they do.
I’m torn between the compassion that rises in me at this image and shoving my ostrich-head back in the sand so that I don’t have to deal with this.
What tremendous … what? loyalty, service, devotion this boy’s mom or dad must have had to have known that this picture "could" become a reality and yet STILL go off and leave a family behind for a good greater than being there for one’s family. Amazing.
