Incredibly Frustrated
soo after I graduated from college (december 07) and moved back home, I had a ton of time to workout and concentrate on eating well. So by March I was in the best shape I had been in since high school. Then I spent 6 weeks in Africa. I planned on running everyday but my shoes got stolen about a week after I got there. I was walking a lot and playing with the kids at the orphanage but it wasnt enough exercise. On top of that, there was no protein at all. My meals consisted of breakfast: white bread with jam, sometimes an egg. lunch and dinner: white rice or yams(not sweet potatoes, different in africa), with oily vegetable stew. And I ate about 10 mangoes a day, hence my bodyspace name. Mangoes were free and sooo good. I didnt gain any weight but definately felt like crap with all the bad food I was eating. About half way through my trip I got sick and stayed sick untill about 2 weeks after I got home. By then it was around the end of May and I hadnt exercised for almost 2 months.
Finally got better and then about 3 days after I somehow hurt my wrist while I was sleeping. Couldn’t move it, it was very swollen, and had crepitus (grinding in the joint). It sucked! So I had to wear a wrist brace for about a week and a half and I couldnt lift any upper body and could mostly only do cardio. I felt so weak from not lifting at all in forever.
Wrist finally got better and I was working out and running everyday for a couple weeks and then last week I cut my toe somehow. I think there is still glass in it. It hurts to walk and I cant do anything except lift and ride a bike with flip flops on. It hurts to wear shoes. Going to the doctor today so he can fix it.
I just want to get completely healthy so I can get back to my routine for more than 1 week at a time!! UGHH!!! just venting..sorry if you read this whole thing. I am bored waiting for my doc appt. wish me luck!

Wow, sounds like things have been a pain in the rear, hope it gets better. The good news is it doesn’t look like it would take long to get back into shape(being young helps…
Good luck with your goals, you still look great!!

Ugh! I know how frustrating that can be. I recently got back from a Hawaiian vacation and I totally went off my routine the whole time i was there. I know, I know, totally different from your situation, but I have no self control when I am on vacation.
It sounds like you are back now and hopefully the frustration will keep you motivated to hit the gym hard!
