Annoying habits….

So, I watched this Oprah some time ago about how this couple was on the verge of divorce because she was sick of picking up after her hubby and all his annoying habits.  I guess he walks in the door from work everyday, and throws his jacket on the rail of the staircase and goes about his business.  Well, his wife would immediately pick it up and put it in the closet.  And she would be furious because she would do this everyday.  So, they are on the show, and the guy has NO CLUE how bad he was pissing off his wife because she would just do these things and not say anything.  So, the house always stayed picked up…he never noticed a mess.  Well, the lady is sitting there in tears about ready to divorce the guy.

So, I learned from this…first off, if something pisses you off…tell someone.  No need to hold it in.  It only hurts you.

So, in my life…what annoyed me was how my hubby would get out of the shower, clean his ears with a q-tip and leave the q-tip on the counter.  He did this everyday….for as long as I knew him.  Now, there is a garbage can in our bathroom within arms distance of the counter.  But, everyday…there it sat on the counter.  So, I started putting these annoying q-tips in places that would ANNOY him.  Somedays he would find his used q-tip in his wallet.  Sometimes on his pillow.  Occasionally in his gym bag.  Let’s just say he got the point.  We laughed about it, and I haven’t seen a q-tip on the counter in a couple years.

So, if your spouse, significant other has an annoying habit, let me know…I will help you rid them of that fast.  for example, they leave the toilet seat up….write in marker "I have a small pee-pee" underneath it. They will be sure to put that lid DOWN everytime!  :)

LOL!!!! I don’t hold back. If I am happy, mad, sad, bother, etc I will tell you. I’ve learned that, and sometimes is hard, but it’s a great way to live life.

LMAO at your q-tip "messages". That was creative!!

My husband is very good which is why I’ve been able to stay with him for 17 years. BUT….
My husband’s driving is awful. I’m in a constant state of cardiac arrest when he drives. I never drive with him because he gets down to the minivan before me. Sometimes I will put the seat back and sleep because I tell him I do not want to be eyewitness to my impending death.

And I’m always telling him to watch out for red lights, there’s a person crossing the street LOOK OUT!, and whatever other violation I feel I need to warn him about.

Too funny, girl…My wife and I have our separate sinks/vanities, but whenever she does her hair, she likes to use my vanity because of the way the mirrors are positioned. And that’s not a problem with me, for I’m an easy-going-kinda-guy, and I’m "here to please." But I keep my sink/vanity "spotless". I guess you could say a little OCD when it comes to my "sink area". The problem comes when she is finished, there are a number of long hairs sitting in my sink. So the other day I gathered all the hair - and put them in HER sink so she would get the picture. Well, I left it there for about 10 seconds, and then I felt badly…..how many times has she picked up after me and not said a thing, never complaining. Although I’d have to say I’m pretty good about picking up after myself. Anyway, I suppose the point is if she keeps doing it - before I divorce her over hair in my sink - I will tell her about it.

LOL!!!!!!! Great idea for q-tips. Any tips on getting the spouse to put dishes in the sink vs the counter, table, desk etc?

this is great….you make me want to thing of something annoying that he does just so I can have a great way to "inform" him of what bothers me.

hahahaha i’m late to read/respond to this, but SO funny… i send my hubby a text message with a picture of his cereal bowl in the sink every morning. (the dishwasher is always the first thing i do in the morning so it’s empty and he knows it could be put in there but plays dumb like he didn’t know if there was clean stuff in there… it’s empty… ugh!!!) haha. i have been known to stuff things in his wallet too… but an ear waxy q-tip… haha that’s EXCELLENT!
