Blog Entry

I see this guy workout at my gym about 2-3 times a week with a trainer.  I am not being mean, but he is a rather large guy.  He works his butt off, and the trainers and doing all the right things with him.  But, I have to say, he hasn’t lost any weight in over a year!  I was sitting there thinking today about how he gets up at 5am to get to the gym, to get tortured, but he has to be doing somethign wrong…and I would bet money it is DIET!  I wish the trainers would take the time to ask him what he is eating or make him accountable.  I would ask him, but I don’t want to offend anyone…but geez, I would love to see him get results.

He isn’t alone.  I have this mental lecture with myself about once a month.  I get up at 5am to go to the gym, then get back home by 7 so I can be up before the babies get up…and then I am running all day.  Then at about 2:30pm each day…I want sweets, carbs…anything I get get my paws on.  I am usually cracking a Red Bull open at this time.  Sometimes I cave……  But I really have to stop and think about what I am doing.  It totally defeats the purpose of getting up at the butt crack of dawn (when I am NOT a morning person) and then eat crap later in the day.  I am having this lecture with myself right now.  So…I am going to stick to my diet and let my hard work pay off…and show off.

So, off to eat my tuna.  Yum, yum.  The holiday’s are coming…it is better to be ahead of the game!

Before we were married, my husband had a roommate who would jog 5 miles a day, and then stop at the convenience store across the street to get a pint of Haagen Dazs. He never lost his gut. All that running and he’d stall any progress with that treat (amongst the other stuff he ate). My husband asked why he would run so much and then eat that and he said he was rewarding himself for doing such a great job.

That is some puzzling reasoning right there.

It is DIET and I ruined my progressionbecause of it. I see me when you mention him.

Yes, diet can be SO hard! Although, some people work out to eat whatever they want…

The hardest part about losing fat/gaining muscle is the diet. I hate working out, but i hate eating healthy more than anything. It’s a mental game for sure. Good luck with it! You look great!

As everyone has already said, DIET! the most painful part at least in my opinion. Unless your lucky enough to have great genes, eating makes or breaks you.

I hate the diet part of working out!!! but to get it done you must stay on track. As a chef you have those good thing to eat every second of the day so will power is a must. the worst part of the day is 2-5 in the afternoon don’t know way

Hey, I can relate to the big guy. I am a recovering eat-a-holic. I could gain weight with the best of them. Funny how society has made diet a "four letter word." The commitment to change is a 24/7 thing.

And I am glad you are talking to yourself. Helps you motivate people like me;-)
