Wed PM: Biceps and Cardio
I just spent the last few days in Monterey, CA with the family. We went to the aquarium, spent time on the beach, and just lounged. I loved the sound of the ocean. It was rhythmic and calming. However, I am no fool and know that it is powerful. Unfortuately, my daughter wanted to just jump in. I am not not THAT comfortable with the beach. She had to hold my hand even though just our feet got wet. It was such a nice change of pace, though. Everything just slowed down.
I did get some cardio in. But, my focus was on the family and eating well. The result is that I feel recharged and I am down two pounds. I packed my food and ate every three hours--chicken, eggs, protein powder, supplements. We stopped at a store for spinach. The room did not have a microwave--luckily I packed bran and prepared it as I would my oats. All I needed was boiled water. The coffeemaker took care of that. What made this trip relatively easy to diet on was to turn my focus away from the food. It was merely a biological need--everyone has to eat. I ate what I packed. I would set my watch alarm for every 2:45 hour giving me a 15 minute grace period. Then, I just ate and continued with out activitity. My husband and daughter went to the aquarium's cafe and ordered their lunch. I saved our table and prepared my tuna and egg whites. There was some mustard on the table, so I used some of that a just a smidge of maynnaise since we would be walking around for the rest of the afternoon.
Now, that we are back, I have to make my schedule for the rest of the week. I love being on summer break and having the option of sleeping later. But, I need more of a schedule.
