Sunday AM: Shoulders, Abs(-), Cardio

I had plans to do weighted abs, as it’s still my heavy week. I was surprised to find them still sore! Not just sort of sore–but OUCH sore! YES! So, I changed up the plan–no weights, high reps, hit the obiques. I typically don’t do weighted abs with my obliques because I’d like to get some detail, but don’t want to comprimise the size of my waist. It’s been down to 24 inches during contest time. I’d love to keep that and keep working on the width of my back. I also focused on shoulders. I FINALLY did three sets of shoulders presses with 30# db! (10, 8, 6, 4, 2 partials)! I was so excited. And I could do single-armed presses with (up from 25#)35# (standing and cheating out). I realize that I am going to have to incorprate a few more machines for upper body if I want to go heavier, safely. I just have this vision of getting a bar or something coming down on my face and getting stuck on my chest. I did front raises (strict form, no rocking, isometric holds), side raises, and worked the rear delts. I am still working towards more balance with my arms. Then, I hit the stepmill for 30 minutes–30 hard minutes. The thought of oatmeal kept me going. I even stretched, today. I typically don’t. What is that saying? If you keep doing things the same way you will get the same results. Well, it is alot more poetic than that but I am going try and stretch more, especially my hamstrings.

I am off to make the most of this Sunday–lesson planning, doing my little one’s hair for the week, a little laundry, and cooking for the next few days. No work on Wednesday.
