Hard Work Paid Off!! 2008
Well it has been a while since I have posted my thoughts and goals and I should mention the achievements of 2008!
I reached my goal of getting up on stage and competing in my first Figure Comp, I wasn’t expecting the results I actually received, but boy was it a thrill. I won my first comp at the ADF INBA Figure/BodyBuilding Titles. I was in the tall class and the feeling of being up there on that stage under the spotlight was not so much one of nerves, but of relief. I had done it, I had put myself through all that punishment and pain, but it was well worth the effort. Afterwards I had a lot of people come up to me congratulating me and actually saying I should have taken out the overall. Really made my day/night. TO know that all the hard work had paid of and acknowledged by others. I was happy to get what I was given.
I backed up my efforts six days later at the INBA NSW State Titles. I was put in the Intermediate Class although the ADF comp doesn’t qualify you to go up a class. Well I had big shoes to fill, but again I Won!! I could not believe it, one week and two wins. I was in the fight for Overall and it was a unanimous vote, so we had to go through it again. I had never felt so drained in my life, but again couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. I missed out on the Overall by one point. I was happy enough to walk away with my big cup for NSW Ms Figure Intermediate! I had qualified for the Nationals in QLD on th GoldCoast but couldn’t compete as my next goal and career was next in line and I couldn’t pass it by.
So 2009 you may see me take out the hatric if all goes to plan!
