NO TRICKS OR SECRETS?? OMG!!!

This week we maxed out for football. I got a 425 deadlift, 300 squat, and 245 bench at 155 pounds. Some of the younger guys came up to me and started asking what I took and how much they could bench if they took it. It was hard not to laugh at them. I tried to explain to a bounch of freshman lifters how sticking with it and eating correctly will help them more than any supplement they can buy. Then they looked at me funny as if I should have told them to go to GNC and spend all of their birthday money. I don’t understand why it is so hard to believe that hard work and proper nutrition is the key. I also told them to stay away from parties and they laughed. Then I asked them what one of their friends who was much larger than I maxed. I said exactly his parties are helping him a lot aren’t they. So I hope to have helped some guys understand what it’s all really about.

BACK TO THE BASICS

I think so much has been lost in bodybuilding through the commercial aspect of fitness. If you look back at Arnold trainning videos you see a bunch of bodybuilders working out in the same gym with one goal to get BIG!!! The were hadcore iorn heads. What happend to the days of walking into gyms and seeing bent bars every where and guys working out together all the time like a family. The days when you could workout in you posing shorts and not get called gay. I wanna know how gyms now days can pull som of the stuff they do. Some gyms have no grunting rules now, well if I have 4 or 5 plates on the leg press I’m going  to grunt and be loud. Nothing against gyms but some of these places are getting crazy. I thought about joining a gym the other day and then said forget it. So I went out and bought an olympic bench with a squat rack behind it and an olympic weight set. I figured forget forget gyms and the rules and regulations you have to follow. I’m getting back to the basics just me the iorn, and some other bodybuilders sweating and yelling in a garage. Walk in there and I promise you’ll see bent bars and some crazy guys that look like they’ll distroy anything in their path.

MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE IDEA THAT IF THEY JUST BUY SOME SUPPLEMENT WITH THE PICTURE OF A HUGE BODYBUILDER ON IT AND WORKOUT THEY’LL GET HUGE. NOW BEFORE I GO ON A WAR PATH TALKING ABOUT HOW SOME COMPANIES WILL RIP YOU OFF LET ME SAY THIS THERE ARE VERY MANY SUPPLEMENTS THAT ARE GOOD AND WORK AND THAT I HAVE USED MY SELF. BUT THERE ARE ALSO MANY COMPANIES THAT WILL PUT A PICTURE OF SOME MASSIVE GUY ON ROIDS AND SELL A HIGH PRICED PROTEIN POWDER AND TELL YOU IT WILL MAKE YOU GAIN 30 POUNDS IN A MONTH. IF THIS WAS TRUE WOULDN’T WE ALL BE PRO BODYBUILDERS. THE WAY THESE COMPANIES ADVERTISE IS WHAT WINS THEM THEIR CUSTOMERS. THEY’LL PUT AN AD UP ON A COMERCIAL BREAK OF THE WORLD’S STRONGEST MAN. OK, WHO DOSEN’T GET PUMPED UP AND WANNA DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO GET BIG WHEN THEY WATCH THAT SHOW. OR THEY’LL PUT PICTURES IN A MUSCLE MAG THAT THEY KNOW GUYS ARE LOOKING IN TO GET BIG SO THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEM. IT’S JUST WE GET THE IDEA THAT IF WE USE SO AND SO’S PRODUCT WE’LL GET BIGGER THAN PEOPLE WHO HAVE WORKED OUT FOR 20 YEARS. THE TRUTH IS IT TAKES YEARS AND YEARS OF PAIN AND HARD WORK TOO GET BIG NOT SOME POWDER IN A BOTTLE

WORKOUT SYSTEM

I MOSTLY  USE FREE WEIGHTS AND BASIC EXERCISES. I DO BENCH, SQUAT, DEADLIFT, OVER HEAD PRESS, MILITARY PRESS, CURLS JUST BASIC MOVEMENTS. I TRY TO DO AROUND 4-5 SETS KEEPING THE REPS AROUND 8 TO PROMOTE MUSCLE GROWTH AND STRENGTH.
