So yesterday, Im on my way to work. JUST as I take the exit on the highway, my bike runs out of GAS. Now, I am only approximately 800-1000 meters away from work. Best part? Its up hill. Even better? Im on my bike.
Now, I usually get there with enough time to change into my uniform, strike up a quick chat with the guy or gal Im relieving, and begin my shift. Now I know Im gonna be late, but now I noticed I didnt bring my phone! Now this makes things better cause its 10:50pm and everything is closed. Yay for me.
So I did the only thing I could do. I started pushing. No way Im just gonna abandon my bike in an empty parking lot. After about 10 minutes of pushing, I see blockbuster. I stop the bike, and walk in. I called the guy and said Im gonna be late so he wouldn’t get mad. Then I went back outside and started pushing again. Then, EVEN in 50 degrees weather, I got HOT. I took off my jacket and pushed again. I pushed for maybe 25 minutes, all uphill. I got tired, sore, but was feeling the great workout.
Thankfully, there was an HEB gas station I’ve never noticed just before my turn, so I went in there and got gas. Then I hopped on my bike and rode for 3 minute and got to work.
Try pushing a 650lb bike uphill for an AMAZING workout you’ll never forget!

Amusing, embarrassing, and possibly lost a shot at a cute girl. Let me being with the fact that I do NOT have a problem with homosexuality. Nothing against them, they are people just like everyone else and I treat them as such. In some cases, some of my cooler friends are gay.
The following takes place at work in the gym…
3:00am- I go to rub my left ear cause thats just something I do as a habit. No particular reason, just like to play with my earring…only this time it wasn’t there! I check my right ear, SH*T, the right earring IS THERE! I switch the earring to the left ear immediately. HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN LIKE THIS!
(going back in time to the previous night)
10:00pm- I show up to the gym an hour early to squeeze in a HIIT workout before my shift begins at 11:00pm. I say hello to the new girl at the desk and move my way to the locker room.
10:15pm-Im doing my workout, rotating from jump rope to doing pushups on that half ball thingy to doing lunges with a plate overhead. Im working it hardcore! This one asian guy moves his working out a little further from me. Good, more space for ME.
10:50pm-Get up to the front desk n clock in. Start talkin to the new girl (cute as hell), trying to get to know her a little better. With about less than 5 minutes of interaction, she leaves. Try to get to know her some more next time.
11:20ish pm-asian guy leaves, barely says good bye.
11:30pm-3:00am-mixed emotions from people. I would like to consider this normal, but after discovering the missing earring, I could understand it better. Either some people felt uncomfortable or something.
But in the end, DAMN! I wonder how many people took that damn right earring seriously. And that girl, ****! I laughed, of course, but then it got me thinkin of all this stuff.
Again, nothing against homosexuality, but thats not me. And now there may be some people that believe that, including that cute girl. So what do I do now? Continue about my business, look back at this and chuckle. Also, check damn earrings before I go to work!

That’s my saying that I used more in the beginning of the year to just get my ass in the gym and do the damn thing. And the results in May were the best I’ve ever had in my life. I had the best abs, the tightest chest, the biggest arms, most detailed quads in my life. As cocky as I’ll sound: I looked GOOD. That was my biggest accomplishment in fitness so far.
Since then, the lovely stressors of life took over. Change of location, change of careers, change of life in general (and Im STILL happy to have left the damn service). But since, I’ve noticed, fitness wise, that my body has changed as well and not for the better. Im finding it more and more difficult to get close to the body I had in May. I saw another picture where Im not posing and my arms were big! (compared to what to what I always had and what they are now…)
Even though I work at a gym, I try to remain professional and not work out while on duty. Afterward, Im so sleepy that I just want to get home and sleep. Then, in the whole mess in trying to find another job to keep up with the bills, cleaning my place, and finding damn documents for the military to support my disability claim and then screw up my sleeping schedule to attend school and finally still wanting to perform at musician’s open mic nights…damn.
And nutrition wise, when I work, I tend to eat a lot of rice and beans. Figure that’ll give me one of the best combination of fat, carbs and protein along with essential vitamins and minerals. Plus I drink a lot of water. But on my off days, Im so tired of eating the same thing I break the habit and eat junk, mainly because it is available, but also because I need to keep moving to do get to school, open mic, veteran’s affairs…
And lastly, yeah, all the political bullsh*t going on about the swine flu, Copenhagen treaty, and even more troops being sent off to fight a pointless war is robbing a lot of my attention. Sorry, I know a lot of people think this is all just meaning less conspiracies and the people that talk about it are loony. But when sh*t does hit the fan, and we begin to pay for CO2 that we produce by any means, and its going to scratch the heads of the common people, and fill the rich with even more money that they will be able to do anything they want. And if you don’t believe this, listen to our ‘fearless’ president say it through his own mouth. ‘Force’ and ‘that will cost money’ are used.

Sorry, but this is whats going on in my head. I want to get physically prepared. I want to have the body I had in May. But I do need more legal tender notes to pay bills and a place to live. Food to eat. I wish I could get that May body back, but its going to be a true challenge this time. Unless I completely dedicate my full time to fitness, I dont know if I can make it possible.
In good news, I am finally taking the first step in becoming a boot camp instructor. I think this will help me out a lot, but thats if they decide to hire me.

Copenhagen Treaty Must Be Stopped
Start calling your state representatives now. How the hell am I to pay another country because I have to drive to work? HELL NO.

Quick and simple post about what we all know, but every now and then need a reminder to show how a simple smile can change a person.
A woman is about to enter the gym this morning, and although it was still dark out this morning, I could see her face through the window. It was a mixture of ‘no facial’ and ‘grumpy’ expression. In my head Im thinkin, ‘Damn, this is going to be unpleasant…’.
Last second before she walked in I did a 360 and said, ‘GOOD Morning! How are we doing today?’ with a BiG ol’ bright smile on my face! What happened next? Well that frown turned upside down for her. She smiled, answered, I did the whole card scan thingy, and sent her on her way. She left in a better mood. Doesn’t matter how long it lasted, it was better for her in that brief moment.
My thing was, IM the one thats been up for the past 17 hours, IM the one that should have that frown. So if I can muster up a smile, you’d better be able to do the same.
Its contagious. Spread it

Thats twice I’ve gotten people to get up and move when I play. WOO HOO! And now that I made a new song specifically to dance to, we’ll see how that one plays out!
With school, work, and open mics, my fitness has been slowing down. I thought I could do it all, but my body needs its sleep, and it has hurtful ways to let me know.
Going to have to stick to maybe 15 minutes of something in high intensity every day, cause I just can’t fit a great workout into my schedule. We’ll see how it goes.
If anyone is in Austin on the 17th of October, I got my show coming up, along with other awesome bands, at the Beauty Bar on 7th st. $10 dollars at the door, or contact me for $8 dollar advance tickets. Its gonna be rockin! www.myspace.com/cruisermikeg
