My legs are really, really sore today and it is the good sore. Let’s me know I did somthing yesterday. Legs! Had a hard time sitting down today and after I got down, I had a hard time standing back up. I skipped cardio this morning to get a little rest for my legs, But I got a great chest work out in. High cable flys 3×15, low cable flys 3×15, mid cable flys 3×15, Machine press incline, flat, and decline all 3×15. Then I finished with incline dumbell press 3×15. My chest was on fire and it feels great. Back to cardio in the morning and tomorrow I’ll hit shoulders.

Woke at 5:45 for cardio on eliptical. Worked hard felt great. 12:00p.m. leg work out at Gold’s increased my weights. Leg press 4×12, calf raises on leg press 4×12, leg extensions 4×12, leg curls 4×12, seated calf raises 4×12, then inner leg work both machines 4×12. Then 5:30 p.m. laid 400 sq.ft of hard wood floor for my father inlaw until 9:30. Busted my hump and I am now "EXHAUSTED"!!!!! I know that many of you probably think my leg workout is probably a little weak and that I should be doing squats, which I agree is a great exercise. But I have chronic knee pain in my left knee due to injury. I have no cartlige and my orthopedic specialist told me no squats and that if I were 20 years older he would replace my knee tomorrow. Still the stronger I get in my legs I will probably venture out and see if the squats still effect me negatively.

Had a really good day today and I ate clean. Woke up at 6:00 a.m. for 30 min cardio. I was tired and did not want to get up but felt great after my cardio. Worked upper body today. Cable rows 2×15 superset with chest high cable flys 2×15. Wide grip pull downs 2×15 superset with Low cable flys 2×15. Ez bar curls 2×15 superset with ez bar tricep extensions 2×15. Hammer curls 2×15 superset with ez bar close grip tricep press 2×15. No rest between supersets 90 sec rest between groups.

I had a rotten day today. After spending the weekend resting and recovering, I completely bombed. I did not wake up this morning for cardio and I failed to go to the gym. And the worst thing…….. I ate Taco Bell at lunch. I am so disappointed in myself. I use this site to be accountable so I figured I had better come clean. After three days of not doing anything I feel like I am sliding. Tomorrow will be the test. I will get back on the Horse.

I had a great work out friday. Changed all of my exercises and routine this week and I am really feeling it. My body is so damn sore it is crazy. I tried to shoot baskets with my daughter today and I felt like a 70 yearold says they do. I could barely lift my arms and my chest feels like it is bruised. Am I correct in thinking that I made good progress this week. The only thing that made me wonder is that usually the soreness goes away after a couple of days but this week the soreness is staying quite abit longer.

Actually no Damn those girl scout cookies. I had a great back and tricep workout today, ate clean, fought off temptation until I came home and my wife brought home girl scout cookies (thin Mints). I broke and ate four. So I guess the actual person I should be mad at is myself. Diet today has been #1Whole grain cereal and one egg #2 1 small apple #3 myoplex shake. #4 missed this one but fought off the temptation of a chili dog. Got home at 5:30 tonight to find those wicked cookies and choked. Planned dinner Lean hamburger on wheat bun, avacodo, tomatoe,lettuce, with baked patotoe wedges coated with olive oil. Work out consisted of rows 4×12, close grip pull downs 4×12, wide grip pull up 4×12 (machine assisted) rope pull downs 4×12, skull crushers 4×12, and two hand over head extensions 4×12. One other note last nights blog did not post for some reason. I had a really good leg workout leg press 4×12, calf raises on leg press 4×12, extensions 4×12, leg curls 4×12, calf machine 4×12. My legs were so tired I had the shakes and felt exhausted. Also had my four week measurements at Gold’s for the 12 week challenge and had great progress. Updated measurements they seem to be inconsistent so I am going to try and get the same trainer to measure me each time.

Recovered from Influenza I felt like I had been hit by a Mac truck over the last week. I did manage to get a few cardios in but not real productive. Today I worked chest at the Gym. High cable flys 4×12/15, low cable 4×12/15, Incline bench press 4×12/15, Incline bench flys 4×12/15, Flat bench press 4×12/15, and Flat bench flys 4×12/15. Reached failure between 12 and 15 rep on each set. My chest is very fatigued tonight so I think that I did well. Ate clean today.

For the most part I am a pretty healthy individual. I usually catch 1 maybe 2 bugs a year. But in the last four week since I’ve joined Golds gym I have come down with a stomach virus and now an upper respiratory bug. I’ve been running a fever, sinus pressure, dizziness and tight chest. Feel like i have only 1/2 my lung capacity. I haven’t been able to work out the last four days and it has been very discouraging. I’ve lost 6 days of my 84 in the gold’s 12 week challenge due to illness and it really burns me up. I use hand sanitizer and wash my hands immediately after working out but the bugs are getting to me some how. It may have nothing to do with the gym maybe it is just a crappy year for bugs. I plan to get after it tomorrow - cardio in the a.m., leg workout at Gold’s during lunch. Then on Saturday I plan to superset all my upper body groups with lighter weight, and Sunday cardio. Start out the week Monday back on schedule.

Gold’s at 1:00 p.m. shoulders. Had a good workout, not great but good. Met a very nice guy 59 years old and ripped. He is a local police detective who use to compete when he was younger. Full of information and I enjoyed visiting with him, but it was nicer not knowing anyone at the gym and I could focus and get my hour in during lunch. until tomorrow.
