Sore Knees

I have been working out six days a week for the past two weeks and I have noticed that me knees are sore. They have gotten worse the last four days. It doesn’t help that my job is physically demanding and it requires me to do alot of heavy lifting. I had to stop doing plyometrics 3/4 of the way through it because they were hurting. I didn’t even do my exercises last night because my knees were throbbing.

Any suggestions as to help keep the pain down or make the soreness go away? Thanks for your time.

This has been starting to affect my husband as well. One thing I would recommend is to ensure you are tracking your knees properly during the exercises and while you are at work. This would be the most likely culprit of your pain as your quads and hamstrings should be getting stronger and supporting the knees more effectively the further into the program you go. However, if you are allowing the knees to extend past the toes and not making sure you are going to a 90* angle during squats and lunges, your knees will suffer. A round of motrin for a week or so couldn’t hurt to help bring the pain under control as you are continuing the exercises. Keep in mind you can always make the high impact moves low impact by following the modified moves they demonstrate. Happy exercising and keep up the good work, the recovery week will come just in time.
