P90X: Close to finishing Phase II

Alright, we are almost done with the second phase of the P90X program. This phase wasn’t as great compared to the first four weeks. We had company for two weeks, some birthdays, my son started schoole and on top of that, we were sick and we missed out on three days of working out. No big deal. We tried to work out the first night we were sick and that only made it worse. We needed to listen to our bodies and give them rest. So, when we did get back to execising we did our Core Synergistics.

Core: This program is great. After we got done I felt like I had gotten my ass kicked. Missing out for three days and then starting off with this was a real wake-up call for our bodies. The only exercise i don’t like in this is the Dreya Roll. The first time I did I rolled too hard and I had shifted all my weight onto my neck. That was af reaky moment and since then I have been a wussie about it. I love the Prison Cell Push-Up. It reminds me of two-a-days. I was just reading a book by beachbody and it stated that you can burn any where from 300 to 800 calories per hour with Beachbody programs. Having done this for some time now I believe it.

Hip Hop Abs: My mother was out here for two weeks and she uses the Hip Hop Abs by Beachbody. Nicole did it with my mother several times and then I did it with them one night. We swapped it for one of our cardio nights. It’s a pretty cool workout. I can’t dance and I have no rythem, so I was laughing a lot at myself during it. I guess lucky for my wife I’m a good kisser ; ). I had a lot of fun doing it and I pushed myself hard enough to get a sweat going. I really could feel it working my abs.

Diet:Due to my birthday and my son’s birthday we had some bad food. Cake, I had a some soda and we ate out a couple of times. It didn’t effect our weight, but we did feel like crap after we ate that stuff. Otherwise, we have stuck mostly to the Phase I eating plan. We throw some Phase II meals in here and there, but not a lot. We just don’t react well to carbs. While my mother was out here we made her eat our meals and she loved them. She has I.B.S. and she has to be careful of what she eats. Our meals fit into her diet requirements and she lost 12 pounds while she was here. 12 pounds in two weeks, thats great! Now she is hooked. Way to go mom!

Supplements: Here is what I take daily: 1 men’s health Vitamin, 1,000mg Vitamin C and 1 B-Complex Vitamin. I don’t take any fat-burner pills. I don’t have anything against them. I just don’t believe in them. I understand if you need to use them for a competition, but if your goal is just to lose weight I don’t see it. I guess it’s just not natural to me? You can’t take them forever and so I was wondering (maybe more worried) how your body reacts to them after you stop using them. Since it’s not a natural way for your body to lose weight how does your body maintain the weight off if it doesn’t have that in it anymore to use?

Photos: While my mother was out here she took pictures of us working out and flexing. Man, that was fun. I posted them on my profile page and THANK YOU to everyone who has left us compliments! She took our before picture and our newest picture and placed them side-by-side. We both have a set of copies in the bathroom. Nicole has hers hanging from her mirror and I have mine on my mirror. Seeing ourselves before we started is a real nice wake-up call. We looked so damn gross! I have to say this: take a pictures of yourself. It’s a great way to see your progress and give you motivation. Do it!

Confidence:Yup, it’s here. Confidence. Both Nicole and I have this new confidence. Nicole has a profile page on Beachbody and she is in the process of writing about herself and her journey. She said she is going to talking about her demons from her past: how her parents called fat and used fat names ever since se was a little child. Thats a huge confidence step for her because this is something she NEVER talked about. Plus, the other day we were talking to some parents about babies and someone mentioned to Nicole that if you were to hold a baby all day you would get some nice biceps. Nicole’s response:"I already do." HELL YEAH! She never talks about herself, let alone in a positive way. Working out together has been such a great experience.

Progress: After I ate my breakfast I stepped on the scale and I saw something I hadn’t seen since 1994 (yeah, bring back the grunge!). I weigh 148 pounds. I haven’t dipped below 150 in over 14 years! WOOOOO-HOOO! Plus, I went to TJ Maxs today and I had to get new work shorts. I went down three sizes. When I saw that I thought, "This is what Brother Knuckles must have felt like when he got his new shorts." It was awesome! This was the only thing I hadn’t factor into our budget. Haveing to get new clothes because our old stuff doesn’t fit anymore. Thats ok, because buying new clothes feels like a trophy or a prize we won.

Since I love and believe in the P90X so much I became a Team Beachbody coach. This program is doing wonders for Nicole and I, so I want others to feel that same great experience we are expriencing. My profile page is www.teambeachbody.com/jt180. I just finished it, but it’s under review by their admins (they are more stricter there then they are here). I also bought the P90X Plus program and I can’t wait to try that out

Alright, I’m outta here! Gonna go jump on the trampoline with my kids! For those who time out of their lives to read about mine: THANK YOU SO MUCH!

About the clothes. I pretty much had to buy a new wardrobe as well. New pants, shorts, shirts, and belts. I’m on my second round of P90x. And by the 27th day I had lost another 5 lbs. Sitting at 170 lbs. Congrats on your progress.

Congrats on the progress and becoming a BeachBody Coach. My sister wants me to try the P90X program with her. Seeing your success I just might give it a try.
