2 week out video now online!

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

http://lamuscle.tv/player/bodybuilding/31

I filmed this at two weeks out.. It’s been on British/European TV - and has just become available online. So thought i’d let my mates from abroad know, in case they want to watch it. It’s quite funny! I didn’t realise how quirky I was.

On the training front it’s going well.. back on it with a relaxed diet over the Christmas period. Now all I have to do is pick a show for next year. I have a few choices….. but can’t decide!! Anyone want to recommend any??

5th overall in the IFBB World Championships!

Monday, October 19th, 2009

Ok guys!

My 3rd ever show ! and i’ve placed 5th over all at the IFBB World Championships and qualified to become an IFBB Figure Pro.

I am totally shocked and over the moon! I actually realised on saturday night that i’d made the top 6, which means I could turn pro - and I just sat in the hotel reception crying. I have achieved my dream which i’ve been working towards with my training for the last 5-6 years. On the Sunday at the finals I managed to improve my placing and I placed 5th over all! I am over the moooooooooooon!

Thanks for all your support guys!!!!!!! I now need to contemplate my next steps xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Just a few days left!

Monday, October 12th, 2009

Hello everyone!

I wanted to send out warmest thanks to everyone on Bodyspace that has supported me during my journey towards the IFBB World Championships. Thanks so much!!

It’s been a long road, but i’ve been in show condition for about a week or so now, so i’m ready to go out to Italy and just DO IT! I’m a pure mix of excited yet completely nervous….. This is the best opportunity I could hope for so I just don’t want to screw it up.

I’m pretty focused right now, i’ve already done legs, back, chest and shoulders to failure. All I have to go now is arms.. which won’t be quite so bad. My cardio sessions are lowered now as i’m starting to let my body settle down..

Also cut whey out now.. so i’m diet is extremely bland. But I’ll be flying out on Thursday morning so I guess time will fly by to be honest! x

Well guys, i’ll let you know how it goes………

Peace

3 and a half weeks out…

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

Hi everyone

Well i’m 3 and a half weeks out now..

I feel pretty rubbish :( I am so lean it’s crazy. The look at the IFBB Worlds is quite tight compared to American IFBB Figure! I just hope what i’ve done is enough. I can’t do much more, I feel so rough :( I can’t wait to post some pictures so that you can all see.. It’s quite unreal.

I am cramping up really badly lately so i’ve had to up my salt intake slightly. I don’t want to get a tear or anything, at this far out it’s okay.. but I will reduce salt before the show.

Well everyone - keep your fingers crossed for me. I’m stressing about this show so much… but I think i’ve done everything I can. My symmetry is very good, i’ve improved my weak points since winning the British Championships. I just can’t do anymore now..

Peace

6 weeks out!

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

Hey everyone :)

I hope everyone’s prep is going well (well if you’re competing soon).. :)

I am now 6 weeks out and actually today my diet has hit me quite hard.. I am totally exhausted. All day long I have wanted to come home and lay down and rest. Ugh.

Today I have trained back.. didn’t train triceps today - just back on its own.

My training went something like this:

  • D Bar pull downs - 5 X 15
  • Bent over rows - 4 X 15
  • Narrow Low pulley rows - 4 X 15
  • Good mornings - 4 X 15 (I do this exercise my own way, so it only targets my lower back)

This was enough for me as my back is pretty much in show condition.. I’m weighing in at 9.8 stone - so only a few pounds off competition weight. My hamstrings are coming in really nice, and i’m working on the separation of my quads. My upper body comes into condition so quick.. my legs are catching up though heh.

Well hopefully tomorrow i’ll be feeling a bit better… I hate having zero energy :-( On the plus side though, at least I am still eating carbs lol. I had a text from a friend today who is competing soon and she’s on a keto diet, taking in no carbs. I think that would kill me !!

7 weeks out!

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

Hey :)

Well i’m approaching the 7 week out stage and feeling ok !

I managed to slow down my dieting a little which i’m relieved about because I was coming in VERY lean VERY fast.. which was kinda worrying me. I made a few changes to my food intake and it’s slowed my fat loss down. I think i’ll give it another week or two and then kick it back up a gear ! I think at the moment some of you may be suprised quite how much food i’m eating. Today has been the exception because i’ve had a low carb day, so i’m feeling a bit sleepy.. I still managed an hour of cardio and trained my hamstrings and abs. But i’ve tried to keep the rest of my day restful because the lowered carbs exhausts me.

I’m also switching my protein shakes for the last 6 weeks or so.. I’m now using Extreme Nutrition - Extreme Pro 6. Fantastic tasting and low in both fat and carbs. It actually tastes luxury so drinking that is the high light of my day lol!

Oh my gosh I forgot to tell you guys.. I’m shooting for an American fitness magazine, but I will reveal which one in a few weeks. It’s an international one tho! Now that will be very odd seeing myself in an American fitness magazine…. that is like some sort of dream to me….. Can’t quite comprehend it really. I guess maybe it’s more common for fitness competitors out there, but these opportunities rarely come along for European athletes. So I do feel kinda amazed!

Hope everyone else is coping with their contest prep. I am exhausted this year round.. but I am going to keep trying and trying to be better than last year.

9 weeks out

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

Hey everyone

So right now i’m about 8-9 weeks out from the competition.

I am leaning up sooooooooooo fast it’s unreal.

I have put all my calories up - which I do find difficult but I am forcing myself to eat the extra food because I need to keep myself looking full. Don’t wanna be a skinny mini on stage haha ;-)

So far i’m quite happy with the way i’m looking.. everything is coming into place. Just need to keep my calories up!

I must admit though, today has been the first day that i’ve felt a bit rubbish :( my legs are aching so badly and I haven’t yet trained them this week. My legs just want to give up.. I have led out on the sofa tonight so give them a rest, they feel so heavy.

I had some figure competitors come and visit me this last week which has been real nice! lots of my competition friends are all getting into shape at the same time. It’s great to see, and very motivating.

Gosh anyway, this isn’t the most inspiring of posts.. but just wanted to keep you all updated. I know I previewed a couple of pictures of how i’m looking, and thanks for the feedback everyone xxxxx

Good luck to everyone competing this season, it’s gonna be a good one!

Hi All!

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

Hey :)

So right now i’m approaching 9 weeks out from the competition.. Feeling quite good to be honest.

Today I am very tired though.. I woke up early and did some cardio, then I had to head out for a photoshoot.. The photoshoot was sooooooo long! Pulling so many poses was quite tiring! After that I did my training and again more cardio on the cross trainer.

I have finally got home.. it’s about 5pm. I was at the gym from 10am. I am knackered haha.

Luckily tomorrow is my day off… always by the end of the week I am particularly tired. I definitely don’t feel as though i’ve hydrated myself well enough today and I can feel the affects of that.

Next week my work life becomes much more busy, so all my training will now be early morning and later in the evening. It should be okay.. the volume of my weight training is lower at the moment, so I should cope with the change fine.

Well - hope everyone has a great weekend.

Congrats to Aline!!

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

I just wanted to send out congratulations to my friend Aline - she is the new Brazillian bodyfitness champion! She looked wonderful and will now be joining me at the IFBB World Championships in Italy this October!

As my American friends often ask me……. IFBB bodyfitness is the amateur division of the IFBB figure class! XX

Training.

Friday, August 7th, 2009

Hi x

Right now training is going very well. I had a great quad work out with one of my mates yesterday and we were quite sore afterwards. My cardio this morning was tricky due to the muscle soreness in my quads… but at least it’s working.

Today i’m training chest.. Should be enjoyable. I’ll be mostly sticking to incline pressing and flyes. Following this i’ll have a bit more cardio to do.. I might do this outside as the weather is quite nice.

I am really looking forward to the weekend x
