Well, this is what happened. I’ve been in army for 11yrs and no matter how much I’ve worked out, when I went home, I went home to fatty eating. I tried so long to clean up what I had in the refrigerator, with no luck. So currently I’ve been working out in Iraq just to kill time, not looking for results…. then one day, I find out that my wife has been secretly working out for 6 months and having serious result just so she could surprise me….. its weird but what Ive been asking for this for so long, I’d never thought that this would happen and now that my wife is on board with being fit after 9yrs of being married, I have a chance to celebrate but I regret not hitting the gym more….So I have been hitting the gym and dieting… and i have been recording my work outs …. and chronicling my my weight….. so motivation for me is to look good with my wife… I’m proud of her…. maybe Ill get her on BodySpace!!!

I was 16 yrs old when I was working a summer job as a bike messenger in NYC. I was hit by a truck that should have killed me but just managed to knock out all of my front teeth, and scrape my knee up pretty bad. I was only about 120 LBS when I was hit, then came the physical therapy to strengthen my legs and upper body. After 2 months of going 2 times a week and 30 LBS heavier; people noticed something about me that I didn’t notice about myself…. I was getting big. That was funny to me because I was always short, but they were talking about my arms and chest. The only reason I stuck with it when I was young was because I started getting attention from girls, even older women. So to get more attention I worked out more, not knowing that I was not only looking different but feeling different. My confidence grew and the bullies figured out I wasn’t a skinny kid any more. Even my older brother asked me what was I doing to look so toned. That’s when I figured out that I loved being in shape.Fast forward 12 yrs
I was in Iraq about two weeks when I encountered my first IED! I’ve been through grenade attacks, small arms fire, and mortar attacks. But this was just the beginning of my latest deployment. Twelve and a half months later, 4 brothers in arms sacrificed the ultimate price and 1 out of 5 soldiers earned a purple heart, I decided to change my ways not just for me but for those that we had to bid farewell to and see in the next life. While I was in on one of my many security patrols, I decide that I’m going to live my life to the fullest. And get focused one what I intended to do when I was 18. Stay in the best shape possible, get a degree in medicine, and keep people informed on being physically fit. When I got back home I ate everything I could just to give it up a month later and start my transformation. I started mountain biking, working out, and our daily work out in the Army. When I was on my bike I kinda found a tree at a high rate of speed and broke my hand. But this didn’t stop me… it just made me stronger. My journey through this transformation will be recorded in this Blog……….welcome to the beginning……………….
