T - Minus 48 Hours Until…

…the BULK!  I am hopeing to gain 12 lbs in 12 weeks.  Trying to keep the BF gain to a minimum (yeah I know).  I will still have the month of December to cut any fat gains so hoping to end the year at around 173 or so at a reasonable BF%.  I have already changed my workout from 4 -12 reps to sets to as heavy as I can go for 6 - 6 rep sets.  My chest is still sore from Tuesday’s workout!  Bi’s and forearms this afternoon, legs tomorrow morning.  More work on my back tat tomorrow night… yes!  Later my friends!

No 12 Week Transfromation Contest for Me!

My buddy got back from Mexico and decided not to do the 12 week transformation contest until next year.  As I was mainly doing it to help him stay on track, I will not be doing it either.  I did a lot of reseach on diet and work out programs specific for my body type so I am going to do a 12 week bulk starting 9/3 as well as changing up my workouts from 4X12 sets to 6 X 6 sets as heavy as I can go.  Until then I am still trying to get the bf% as low as possible.  It’s going down.  I will have it measured before I start the bulk.  I am concerned about gaining bf again while bulking, but what are you going to do?  We will see!  Later friends! 

53 Today and How do I Celebrate?

Not by getting up at 4am to do treadmill, NO!  Not by going to work today, NO!  I slept until 8:15 and am just now getting ready to go to the gym.  And after that I am going for an 1-1/2 massage… NICE!  And I think a nice lunch of lobster (healthy) and champagne (once a year won’t kill me) somewhere on the beach is in order.  Then I will head home and spend some time in a nice hot spa (already heating up)… ahhhhh.   I sure am good to myself, but hey, somebody has to be!   Life is good my freinds and the older I get the more I enjoy it.  Have a great day everyone.  I know I will! :)

Started HIIT Today!

My workout parner comes back from vacation in another week and we are going to start the 12 week transformation contest on September 3rd. so I only have 2 more weeks to get as lean as possible before I start bulking.  I started HIIT this morning after working out my chest and triceps.  I actually liked it a lot and the 20 minutes went by very fast.  Still going to do 30 minutes of fast walking at 4.5mph in the morning and then 20 minutes of HIIT in the afternoon after my workout.  Maybe I will try to do HIIT morning and afternoon, we will have to see - I am not sure I can watch the 4:00am showing of Cops and do HIIT at the same time!

JUST LIKE SMOKING CRACK!

My alarm did not go off at 4:00 this morning.  Not usually a problem as I am awake anyway.  But somewhere after 3:45 I must have dosed off as the next time I looked it was 4:11!   I’m like sh*t!  I thought man I am tired, I could just sleep until 5 or even 5:30 and still make it to work by 7.  But I already blew off a cardio session Monday morning (see last blog) so I said, Hell No!  By now the dog has climbed on top of me and is lying on my chest (no Beasto) and I’m like why didn’t you wake me up?  She didn’t answer as she is very I-centric and is only thinking about her treat that is now 12 minutes late, so I jumped out of bed, threw on some shorts and shoes and headed for the treadmill.  Blowing off planned workouts is like smoking crack.  You proudly tell yourself that you don’t smoke crack and then the pipe comes around and you take a hit.  So now you tell yourself that you’re not going smoke crack anymore and the pipe comes around and you take another hit.  The first thing you know you have gone through all your savings, you’ve lost your house, your wife has left you and your bb.com friends are watching Cops on Saturday night and see you turning tricks for $5.00 rocks!  Even your dog has left you as there are no more treats.  Well maybe blowing off workouts is not exactly like smoking crack, but you blow off one and it makes it that much easier to blow off the next one.  So I have formulated my new motto after the irrepressible Mrs. Nancy Reagan, “just say no” to blowing off workout!  Works for me :)

My Bad or What?

I went out last night to a red carpet premiere in Hollywood, had a few glass of wine, mingled with the pretty people, stayed out late and completely blew off my 4 am cardio!  What a loser!  Still eating to maintain weight, but have been losing almost a pound a week lately, most likley from the extra cardio,  and hopefully all fat!  Gonna start a supper clean bulk on 8/27 (have to wait until after my birthday as there is no dieting going on on my birhtday!) Hope to add about a lb a week for 12 weeks.  Later peeps!

July Progress

Well I am down to 166 and have been holding there for the last couple of weeks.  Don’t know what my BF% is as I am off the chart at 8% on my Accumeasure (I know am not that low).  Trying to hit a few 30 min. morning and night cardio days every week to burn as much fat off as possible.  Have been working out harder this month trying to ease back into it after my shoulder issue.  My workout partner is on vacation for three weeks and is going to be training in Sept for one of those 12 week transformation contests.  He asked me to enter too as it would help him to stay motivated to have someone else to do it with.  While I have no illusions of winning any contests, I think I am going to do it as it would help him and you never know, I might even pack on a few pounds!  I am hoping my shoulder can hold up to it.
