Losing A Little BF%

Sunday, April 29th, 2007

I took off 2 lbs this past month.  Hopefully it was all fat (yeah I know that is not really possible)  I hate to see the lbs. go down as I worked so hard to put them on, but along with the muscle came some fat too, and all of it around my mid section.   That is just not arractive on a slim guy like me and it has to go!  I am keeping my diet at maintanence level and trying to burn it off with cardio so I have no problem with losing it slowly.    I use Accumeasure to measure my bf% and I don’t think that it is very accurate so even though it says my bf% is 9.6% it is most likely a little more.  It doesn’t really matter as long as I can track progress and when it comes down to it, the mirror tells the real story anyway. I am going to hit the cardio really hard this month and see what happens.  All in all is was a good month and I am happy with my progress.  Now if I could just get this shoulder to stop acting up!

Shoulder Feeling Better After Workout

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

Worked out Bi’s and Foreamrs last night  and my shoulder actually felt better AFTER my workout!  I did take it a little easy whenever I felt any pain - in theory if I had isolated my biceps correctly I wouldn’t really be using my shoulders, but there is always a little involment of other body parts.  By the time I got home I noticed that my shoulder was hurting less then before my workout and it feels even better today.  Tonight is my regular shoulder workout so I am for sure going to take it a little easy and be very careful.  Cardio is going good.  Did 4 miles on the treadmill yesterday and 3.4 today (slept until 4am and just ran out of time)

Bad Shoulder

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007

I worked out 6 days straight last week to get back/stay in sync with my workout partner and agravated my right shoulder.  This one kind of bothers me anyway and I really felt it after my shoulder workout.  I should have taken a day or so off, but oh no,  I kept going and it just got worse and worse.   I had Sunday and Monday off and worked legs tonight so I have given it a rest and it is feeling better, not great,  but better.  You know what really hurts it?  The freaking mouse I use all day.  And then I come home and get on bb.com - not too smart huh?  I have arthritis or bursitis or some such crap!  I am getting old as my children take delight in reminding me.  Even so I can say I am in the best shape of my life (how Boflex of me!) so I have nothing to complaine about.  I need to get off here and give it a rest.

Moved My Cardio Outdoors

Sunday, April 22nd, 2007

I added some cardio to my workouts a couple of weeks ago and have been fast walking (4mile/hour) on a treadmil while watching TV for 30-45 mins. each day.  I tried to hit it a little harder and jog, but time just seems to stand still and I just hate it!  Even though it was kind of a crappy day here in SoCal I decided to take it outside and go for a 2 mile "run" pretty much knowing that as I hate running I would most likely end up walking most of the way.  It was such a different experience doing this outdoors that I ran the whole two miles and could have kept going!  I wasn’t bored, the time went really fast and I kind of like it!  I am really excited about this because I am trying to burn off some bf that I put on while bulking and I know that running will accomplish this so much better then just walking!

I’m Back from Greece!

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Had a great time and never missed a workout either!  Ten Euro (about $13) to use the workout room at the Hilton, but money well spent to stay on track.  My workout partner has kinda crapped out on my lately (he has small children so I can understand) but I just go on my own.  I really try to push myself to the same level of intensity, but it does not feel quite the same. Never the less I am still on track and have gotten in all my workouts every week since I started in December.  I feel very good about that!  Cardio is coming along.  I have shin splints (I guess that’s what you call it) so while I am hitting it every day I am not able to go at it as hard as I would like.  I assume that it will get better.  I did lose one pound last week - I sure hope it was from the cardio and it was a pound of fat!

I am Off to Athens Greece Tomorrow!

Monday, April 9th, 2007

Chest and Tris tonight after work, Biceps and cardio tmomorrow morining and I am off to Greece!  I will hit the gym and do shoulders and back while staying at the Hilton, but F the diet!  I am eating any freeken thing I want while on vacation - bring it on!

Always Embarrassing to Post Pictures

Wednesday, April 4th, 2007

The camera is so freaking honest that it strips away any illusions I might have about myself.  I am not sure if this is a good thing or not as I am kinding of feeling less confident about my progress - I mean I look so much better in my bathroom mirror!  I try to hold a possitive image of myself as I think that is really important, you know the old tought creates form theory, and then I look at these pictures and think WTF!  I got very little feedback, which I guess is good as it could have been bad, but most everyone here are possitive and supportive.  This whole blog is getting depressing.  I am just not going to look at them and just keep eating and lifting.  This will all seem funny a year from now (I hope)

First Quarter 2007 Results

Sunday, April 1st, 2007

Well I managed to put on 9 lbs. this quarter, not quite the 13 that was my goal.  By my calculations 1.8 lbs. of that was fat and 7.2 lbs is LBM.  Does this sound like reasonable gain to anyone out there reading this?  I mean, I really don’t know - maybe I expected to much.  That is certanly more BF then I was looking for, but again I don’t really know what would be considered normal.  I am open to any feedback my friends!  I had really hoped to hit 180 and then diet/cardio off the added fat and even a little extra down to 175.  But as I am only at 176 I don’t think I will go with that plan any longer.  I am going to keep my diet the same, and just add the cardio.  I don’t want to rick losing any of the LBM I have worked so longnhard :) for!
