Today is an OFF day and it SUCKS!

Went to work this early morning instead of going to the gym and crunched data for 3 hours and then somehow lost it all!  Tried to cash in my Whareshouse gift certicate from Christmas only to find out they are out of bussiness!  Went to the mall to cash in a gift certificate at a bookstore and oh no… they are gone too!  This is my only day off (1/2 day!) and it is the one Saturday my wife has to work until God knows when.  I am going to eat and go to F-in bed!  This SUCKS!  I can’t wait until tomorrow morning when I can hit the gym.  Chest, Tris, and Abs - YES!

Sunday’s Workout Kicked my A$$

7:00 Sunday morning I met a friend of mine at the gym.  He is preparing for a contest and we were both scheduled work on our Chests so he suggested we work out together and do some forced reps.  I usually do 4 Chest exercises, 4sets of 8-12 reps for each one.  We ended up doing 5 exercises, 6-7 set of 12 reps, forced if necessary to complete.  When we finished with that I moved to do my normal Triceps workout that I do with my Chest.  One hour and forty five minutes of hard work, but I felt really good having completed it.  When I got up this morning at 3:30 I was like, I don’t know if I really feel like going to the gym this morning, I worked out so hard yesterday and drank a few beers last night and I’ m tired:  but I went anyway and did Biceps and Forearms.  And then, just because I even thought about not going to the gym, I made myself do Abs.  That will teach me!

First Week on New Program

I finished my first week on my "new" program.  Added another leg day.  Doing six days a week is no problem for me.  I love going to the gym and would do it 7 days a week if I didn’t have such limited time.  I am there when they open the doors at 4am, Sunday through Friday.  Jacked up the weights and can really feel it after a workout.  I also added some ab work as once I hit 180 I am going to cut to 175 and see those abs!  I had somebody walk up to me at work and say hey, you look like you are gaining weight, are you working out or something?  YES!  I mean, I can see it and feel it, but I didn’t know it was noticable with my clothes on.  My wife has also made a couple of nice comments too and that’s always a good thing :)

Personal Challange

Well, I posted my pictures in the forum and BodySpace earlier this week.  Even though I felt kind of embarrased to do so, I think putting them out there was a possitive step for me in accepting the current condition of my body as well as drawing a line in the sand and challanging myself to improve.  I plan to update my progress every 12 weeks and I feel confident that I will make great progress this year.  I have not blown off a gym day since I started and actually feel a little disipointed on my day off (Saturday).

New Year - New Goals

Well, I did not hit my goal of 175 lbs by 12/31 (only made it to 168) but I did gain 10.5 lbs over the last 12 weeks so I am not complaining.  Only 1.1 lbs of that was fat gain so again, no complaints.  I learned a lot about my diet and I think I have it tuned in so I can easily put on another 12+ lbs over the next 12 weeks.  When I hit 180 I will cut down to 175.  I am also going to lower my reps and up the weight and see how that works for me during the next 12 weeks.  I also recognize that my legs are the most underdeveloped part on me, so I will hit them twice a week and see what results that brings me.  I am ready to step it up and I am very excited about the progress I will make this next year!
